OOC: This is set after the Shooting Gallery Thread and thus after Barricade and Frenzy's introductions.
Presumably, the people who have either signed up for or who have been forcibly recruited into playing Capture the Flag by Spinister and Needlenose are here. Unlike the Autobots, who have a lot of genuinely young and inexperienced personalities, the Decepticons don't quite have that problem. Instead, they have clashing personalities and in spades. People flat-out don't get along, in a lot of ways, and part of their not getting along might even define why they are Decepticons. More than a structured demonstration of how to aim or how to escape from a grapple, Capture the Flag will show how their relationships do and do not function.
Spinister is standing in the holo room, and it appears to be nothing but a normal room, no simulations active. As soon as everyone has arrived who is supposed to be here, he launches into his explanation, "Maybe you played Capture the Flag differently back home, but this is Polyhex Rules," and okay, so Needlenose and Hellbender could contradict Spinister, but if they do, he was specifically referring to the west side of Polyhex. Wink.
"The scene will take place inside the holo room, which means that lethal damage can be simulated without killing anyone. Thus, this enables a much more violent variant of capture the flag than usual. Everyone will have their usual weapons complement, and the scenario will be a built-up Gillananese city.
"Each team will have a sector of the city that is considered their home turf. Prior to the actual game, each team will have about an hour to decide how they are going to lead their team. They can be an anarcho-communist syndicate if they want. I don't care. They can also use this time to fortify their sector and set traps.
"The flag itself can be hidden inside a building, but it has to be clearly visible in whatever room it is in. The flag may not be subspaced, placed inside a box, eaten," one may imagine who he had in mind with that missive, "or otherwise hidden. It may have traps set up around it. Decepticons - and Vehicons and Predacons - are encouraged to think of the flag as the Weapon of the Week, which is why they are defending it and why it cannot be hidden easily.
"Whenever members from opposing teams encounter each other, they may do a number of things. They can fight to the holographic 'death'. They can call in reinforcements. If one of the Decepticons is on his home turf and gets the upper-hand in the fight, he may take the defeated Decepticon as a prisoner. They can attempt to parley. They can run away. As such, this is very much like real life. Prisoners can be freed by any free Decepticon, even a free Decepticon of the team that captured them if they're convincing enough.
"Given that there are three teams in any given one game, it is possible that one team will lose first. The team members of the losing team may be 'killed' by one of the other teams, quit the game, be taken prisoner, go rogue, or join a surviving team. This is one of the reasons that taking prisoners may, in some cases, be preferable to 'killing' an opponent. Prisoners who are treated well may leap at the chance to join a team, even the team that defeated them, so that they can have a chance of winning, even if it is under a new flag.
"Don't worry about breaking the holo room - or each other. The holo room has inherent restrictor safeties, which can be removed, but won't right now.
Yeah, that's a little ominous.
"Any questions? If not, get to it." He taps at the console and a partition appears in the holo rooms, mirror images of a Gillananese city appearing on either side of the partition. "Needlenose's group, to the right. Mine, to the left. Think of something later? I'm at [frequency]."
OOC: If you don't have questions, please feel free to just start the Capture the Flag Thread for your team. You can make up what your sector of the city looks likes. Each sector will be equipped with salvageable components but nothing terribly awesome.
For reminder's sake, the teams are:
Spinister's
Hook
Hellbender
Thrust
Fleetwind
Barricade
Demolishor
Counterpunch
Cannonball
Eye-Fire
Needlenose's
Scourge
Sky-Byte
Frenzy
Dead End
Starscream
Sell Sword
Skystrike
Thundercracker
Wreckage
