Autobrand Party: Over in the Corner

[Makeshift]

Refilled cup in hand, Makeshift drifts over to a nice quiet corner of the roof. A quick booster-hop onto a crate to let him watch the party without straining his neck servos, followed by dropping his vehicle mode tail as an improvised seat, and he's ready for some hardcore observation, oxymoronic as it seems.

The entire situation is new to him, and not just because he's a recent arrival. A purely social event isn't something he's seen before. There had never been enough resources to spare for such a thing on the moon base, and before that....well, best not to think about that. On the other hand, it was a bit of a relief not having to worry about anyone trying to use him as a power source, since none of the assembled Autobots, aside from the few he'd told, seemed to know what his insignia meant.

Still, as much as the busy-body Mini-con prefers to be productive, it is kind of nice to take a night off. Even if he's almost as out of his element here as he would be slugging it out with a Decepticon. So, he simply sits back, gaze drifting between the party and the sky overhead.

[Goldbug]

Hey! It's a bitty guy! And yes, Goldbug's been at the party the whole time. He just hasn't had much to say.

"Hey there," he says, as he approaches. "Makeshift, right?"

[Makeshift]

Makeshift starts slightly as he shakes himself out of his thoughts. "That's me....uh, Goldbug, was it?"

Sheesh, even the so-called Minibots loom over him.

[Goldbug]

"Right," he says, cheerfully. If he still had the kind of face for it he, he'd smile. "Not too often I get to be taller than someone."

[Makeshift]

Apparently, this is the Short Guys With Non-Humanoid Faces corner.

"I'm used to being loomed over," Makeshift says with a shrug, his tone polite. "Back on my Cybertron, there aren't a whole lot of us little guys left."

[Goldbug]

Goldbug nods. He remembers reading the report. "Ah, right. You're a Minicon, right?"

[Makeshift]

"That's what we call ourselves", the Mini-con replies. "So how goes it?"

[Goldbug]

"Pretty good," Goldbug reflects. "I'm glad for the party, anyway. I've been looking at datapads for so long, I think my optics are starting to go."

[Makeshift]

"A little fresh air helps clear the vents every so often." Makeshift holds out his free hand, opening his rotor "fingers" and letting the breeze spin them a bit. "Believe me, it's even better when you've spent a few million years on an airless moon."

Having managed to extricate herself from the situation with Rattrap, Botanica was heading for the refreshment table when the floor show began. Nothing like a drunken brawl to liven up a party. She sighs and continues on, refilling her cup with the standard grade fare. A faint chirrup catches her attention, and she peers under the table. Ah, the mecha-dragon. Botanica absentmindedly pets Tiny before catching sight of Makeshift.

She makes her way over to the minicon's corner, nodding at Makeshift and Goldbug in turn. "I hope you are both doing well. Makeshift, I wanted to check and make sure you'd checked in with First Aid at some point? Since you're a different type from the norm, and all. Best to be prepared and all that."

Not that Botanica is one to talk about being an odd body style.

[Goldbug]

Goldbug nods to Makeshift. "Done four million years in stasis, but never been awake for it. Sounds awful."

He nods politely to Botanica. "Well enough," he agrees.

[Makeshift]

"It's extra fun when you're a flier built for atmospheric flight," Makeshift replies to Goldbug, closing his hand and letting it rest back at his side. "Rotors and vacuum are a bad mix.

"I'll see to it first thing in the morning," he says with a nod to Botanica. "Probably should brush up on basic repairs for others, too. Might be kinda hard to do rescue work when you don't know what constitutes a life-threatening injury and what can wait until a better medic's available."

[Shanodin]

"An excellent idea, Makeshift. Actually...," her voice trails off, and she looks thoughtfully over at Goldbug.

"Holi is in your group, yes? We could use a first responder unit, and we now have both Evac and Makeshift, here. First Aid works just as well in the field as in the medbay, if I understand correctly, and Holi captained a similar group in his reality."

She taps fingers of her primary left hand on her chin, muttering to herself, "Yes, that would work nicely, if you're agreeable to lending Holi, and Kup can spare Makeshift and Evac. What say you Goldbug? Makshift, would you be agreeable to working on such a team?

[Goldbug]

Goldbug nods. "That's a great idea, Botanica. As dangerous as it is out here, we could definitely use a dedicated responder unit."

It was the nature of Transformers, it often seemed, to organize themselves into social groups based around function or purpose. He'd even fallen into that, feeling unusually comfortable among the roughneck Throttlebots, simply on the basis that they shared a built-type.

[Makeshift]

"Fine by me," the Mini-con replies. "Who's gonna be in charge?" Given that his own unit only had three members, picking a leader seems the simplest way to keep down misunderstandings in the field.
