OOC: Space, Week 1, Day 5. Event Horizon. One of the non-sim training rooms. About half of the Mil-Sec division would have been ordered here, but players are free to decide whether they want their Mil-Sec characters to be in this meeting, in the one that Xaaron is setting up, or 'on watch' (meaning someone else will get to them, either on or off screen, as per player preference). If anyone not in Mil-Sec wants to join, please ask first. You can post your character as already having been here, or as arriving.
Due to the size of Mil-Sec, Kup's claimed one of the larger open areas for this meeting. Some uncomfortable chairs have been dragged in, and a few of pieces of training equipment, such as obstacles and similar, can be sat on, but no doubt some people will stand. Kup stalks through the room, waiting for others to arrive - some might be here already, and if so, they will no doubt notice that he seems restless about something. Granted, his mood's been somewhat sour since the attack, anyway, so it might be easy to assume that this is part of that.
It isn't.
He glances towards the door, frowning. No one's late yet, but, while he's not looking forward to getting this started, he badly wants to get this over with, and so he's already getting a little impatient.

Omega Supreme tromps into the area, more or less on time, and he takes up a post at the back of the room. While annoyingly short now, he's still taller than most folks, and he doesn't want to block their view. He does not take a chair or an obstacle-course-piece-being-used-as-a-chair because he's fine with standing, and hogging the sitting implements would be unfair. Short people, like Holi (who won't be here, anyway) deserve the sitting implements more.
Omega Supreme vaguely wonders what this is about, and he seems a bit ill at ease, though not out of not knowing why he's here. Hook's on the ship, and Omega Supreme can't just crush his head, and Long Haul would be upset at Omega Supreme if Omega Supreme crushed Hook's head. This whole ordeal is making Omega Supreme twitchy. He sways a little, side to side, annoyed and touchy.
Omega Supreme is just repaired enough to be up and walking. His self repair systems are slowly chugging at his injuries, but it is slow going. He might be into medical again in the next few days for some revision surgery.

Skyblast is fashionably late. He is, in fact, probably later in arriving than some people who post into this thread after him, just to be confusing.
His leg is repaired, though! No hobbling around on one good leg.
Skyblast takes up a spot in the back, behind a chair that looks like someone else will use, so that he can doodle while Kup's talking and not get caught. Kup seems like the type to throw things when he catches people doodling.

Dinobot stalks into the training room, acknowledging those already present with a nod and a low grunt. He's still damaged from the battle, but it's nothing his self-repair systems can't handle, and he's way down on the waiting list for the CR chamber. He takes up a position near the front of the room, but like the other two, refuses to sit.
Dinobot never doodles in class. He waits for the teacher to make a mistake so he can call him on it and teach the class himself.

Sentinel Prime is very slightly early and plunks down in the front row, selfishly hogging the most comfortable-looking of the uncomfortable chairs for himself. He even pulls out a datapad on which to take notes, being a perfect teacher's suck-up. Kup probably won't appreciate it, but it is hard for Sentinel Prime to stop himself. Old habits take time to break, and he's not even sure with what to replace said habits.
He still has some damage, but it makes him look rugged, slaggit.

Kup stops his pacing and turns towards the others, crossing his arms as he studies them. After a moment of silence, he strides over to a small terminal set into the wall. Turning it on, he brings up the 3-D holographic interface (just normal, grainy 'monitor' 3-D, not solid hard-light 3-D). Then he looks back at the others. "If you people haven't reviewed who Unicron is in the database yet, you're idiots," he proclaims, then taps a button. The news broadcast of Unicron's attack on Gillanan IV begins running in miniature. After the first run through, he turns the sound down. "The short version. He's a world killer. Apparently, in some realities, he's a god." Kup shrugs. "I'm not sure I buy that, but really, I've heard weirder. Here, he's definitely worshiped as one; we seen plenty of that on Pz-Zazz. In most realities where we're sure he exists, he seems to have something against Cybertronians. I wouldn't be too surprised if that applies here. A lot of the Unicronian Cults on Gillanan sure seemed to dislike robots, anyway." He taps the terminal, and a holographic representation of Unicron in robot mode is displayed. "He's also a robot himself. A giant, mobile, transforming planet." "In my reality and some of the others, the Autobot Matrix could defeat him. Emirate Xaaron seems to think that it's because the Transformer creator god was Unicron's enemy, and the Matrix has some of his essence, but that doesn't really make sense for my own reality, given that we were created by the Quintessons." He shrugs. Then he takes a deep breath. "Thing is, in Rodimus's universe... our Rodimus, the one we got here... he found out that after he defeated Unicron, it wasn't enough. He was down, but not out, and was working on a comeback. Rodimus figured out that there wasn't any way to completely destroy him, so he figured out a way to contain Unicron instead. In the Autobot Matrix of Leadership." Technically, the Matrix of Creation, but Kup thinks of it in terms of his own reality. "Rodimus still has him trapped there," Kup finishes, watching for reactions. OOC: I'm going to keep this thread under a 'normal' rotation, because I find that 'meeting style' threads have a tendency to just randomly... stop for no obvious reason. Characters are free to set themselves skippable if they suspect they won't be doing much. If someone wants to post in later, feel free to claim that your character has been here from the start of the meeting, listening in; and, if your character is in MilSec, you are also free to claim your character was here 'in the background' in a future post without actually posting into this thread. ICly, everyone in MilSec would have been either in this thread or in Applied Theology, and ICly, Kup wouldn't really get started until everyone is here, so either way you want to go, please assume your character is already in here for this.

Clipper - who wishes that she could have gone to Holi's meeting, instead of this one - has been watching and listening raptly to the whole explanation. Well, not perhaps watching as raptly about Unicron, because that? Is quite frankly the scariest thing she has ever seen in her whole life.
But she's trying hard to follow along, wondering just what it has to do with anything, really, until Kup drops that bomb at the end.
"Wait," she squeaks nervously. "He's... He's here? Like, on the ship now?"

Omega Supreme tromps over to Clipper and tries to give her a gentle, reassuring pat on the shoulder with his claw hand. She seems to be a friend of Holi, and Holi is not here. Omega Supreme hopes Holi won't mind.
Yes, even Omega Supreme is a little frightened by Kup's news. Unicron was always a problem about which Omega Supreme could do nothing, and he hated that. He hates it still.
Omega Supreme doesn't question Kup, though he does have questions. Better to let others ask them, those with more voice to spare than he.
OOC: Skippable.

Skyblast has seen the video. It still makes him shudder, and Skyblast likes to think of himself as fearless. Some fears are just too primal to be mastered, he supposes. He starts to doodle out Unicron as Kup speaks, not really thinking about what he's doing. Skyblast pushes and tweaks the design, making the edges sharp and dark, stretching the wings out like a spider's legs.
He breaks the stylus in his grasp when Kup finishes, and the pressure signal comes out on the datapad like a blot of digital ink, swallowing up the pale, almost glowing planet Skyblast had been rendering next to Unicron. A fragile little world, swallowed by the devouring dark.
Skyblast stares up at Kup, mouth open, and he sputters, "Doesn't he have anywhere better to put... it? Maybe in a crypt out in the desert?"
That is totally the acceptable thing to do with extraneous world-killers.
OOC: Skippable.

Sentinel Prime takes notes as Kup talks, writing down shorthand of what Kup is saying without really thinking. Some time after Kup's done speaking and Sentinel Prime's done writing, he looks at what he actually wrote and thinks about what Kup just said, idly playing with the nonsensical white bandages that Ani characters sometimes end up wearing when they're injured.
Looking away from his notes, he stares blankly up at Kup for a moment, a vapid 'buh' expression his face. Then Sentinel Prime forgets himself and blurts, "Oh, I get it! This is one of your tricks. Now you're going to tell us all not to be so gullible and tell us some story about how gullibility gets you eaten by monsters."
He looks around at the rest of the room for confirmation.

Kup scowls and shakes his head. "This is no trick. It'd be nice, but..." he shakes his head. He looks at Clipper. "He's inside the Matrix, the one that Rodimus carries. On this ship and," now he looks at Dinobot, "in this reality, yes." Skyblast gets an incredulous look. "The desert?! Lad, burying these things, shootin' them into space, forgettin' about them... that's how these things always end up coming back and biting us in the aft later on! That's why Rodimus trapped him! He tried just blowing him up, and then what was left of the glitch went and enslaved the Junkions! This way, 'least we know where he is!"
"Thing is, he's been here the whole time. You guys notice it? No! That's because as long as we've been in this reality, and it's been a couple of years now, Rodimus has been keeping this under control. Back home, before Roddy ever got here, he'd already been keeping Unicron trapped for half a decade." Really! The last time Unicron got out had been 2010, and Rodimus was pulled from 2015! "He's got this, and we know from Twin Twist, who's several centuries further down the same timeline, that he'll continue to have this under control." This last might well provide a bit of a hint as to why they're going public with the news now.

Clipper will gratefully lean against Omega's offered claw, almost hiding behind one curve of it, because this is very scary stuff as far as she's concerned. And Omega is a really nice bot, and Holi's friend, and if he wants to protect her or comfort her, she'll take it!
"Oh. Umm... yeah, I guess," she agrees in a small voice.
Hearing that Rodimus has it handled so far into the future really helps, too. She gives Omega's big claw a squeeze.

Dinobot looks around the room, taking in everyone else's reactions, then back at Kup. "Will the Matrix still be able to be used against the Unicron that roams free through this universe when there is already a second Unicron trapped inside it?" he rasps. "If not, are we developing an alternate weapon?"

Sentinel Prime takes a few moments to stare at Kup, slack-jawed, when Kup tells them that he's not fooling. He sputters slowly, "But... buh... what?"
Then Sentinel Prime exclaims, "But what does that do to all the dead guys he has stuck in the Matrix!?"
This probably seems like a very strange concern to have. However, Rodimus Prime mentioned that he had a Sentinel Prime in there, and Sentinel Prime is now having horrible visions of his alternate self being chased around by an evil planet. He's being alternate selfish.
