Now, Blurr doesn't want to do something rude like get in the way of anyone else's plays, but he is in this game, too, so unless either objects, he'll take up position on Rodimus's left and Firebolt's left as well. Or wherever else he needs to go.
"Coming back!" He looks from Firebolt to the ball, sailing in a slow, graceful arc over the top of the net, ready to go for it if she doesn't.

"Aw no aw no," Firebolt does her best to bump the ball as it returns, sending it really rather high and maybe just making it to the middle of the net. Perhaps if it gets spiked it'll end up on the other side?
She's grinning the whole time though, it's not a bad 'aw no' that she's saying. Who knew playing with superiors could end up being full of shenannigans and fun?

As the ball is not yet on his side of the net, Rodimus is certainly not in a position to return it. However, by the looks of things, if it does get moved to his side, it's going to be spiked, and so he's already moving to try to be in position to stop it from hitting the ground.
From a Blurr-spike. Yeah, good luck with that!

Blurr does, indeed, spike the ball – but towards Rodimus's mid-court, and he does so with a great, mischievous grin. After all, he can be there to save it if Rodimus can't. What are friends for, he thinks, if not liberally poking at each other between bouts of trouble and support?

"YEA, get 'em!" Firebolt cheers. She takes on a momentary relaxed pose, because she can't help but figure that this is a point for her and Blurr.

While Rodimus has no where need the speed of Blurr, his reaction times and ability to adapt to sudden changes in plans are nothing to be sneezed at. When Blurr hits the ball towards his mid-court he pivots, turning his back to the net and clasping his fists together to swing them up and hit the ball up and over his head, back towards his opponents (well, his one opponent and one teammate-who's-also-an-opponent). The move is fairly flashy, and Rodimus does like flashy, but with his back presently to the net, he'll have less time to see (and therefore to react) to what the other two do to get the ball back to him.

Firebolt is relaxed and not quite ready, it seems, for the ball return – and a stylish move it is, too. Blurr can definitely still see the Hot Rod in Rodimus Prime. Even with that distraction, he's very much on point and darts backwards for the ball. He gives it an awkward, elbows-crooked bump toward Firebolt.
You're even more confusing when you're cheering and jeering for both teams. Haywire sounds a bit grumpy about it.

Firebolt was more interested in going, "Oooooh!" At Rodimus' flashy move. It's almost like he practiced! She only noticed at the last second that the ball was sailing her way. She let out a noise of surprise and dove, only to go sliding into the sand, arms first, and miss the ball. A good reaction time, but too early! The ball bounced harmlessly off her head and rolled to her side.
She laughed as she sat up and shook her head, getting the sand out of her face. "Woops! Gotta be less distracted by Mr. Fancy Pants Moves there," she said as she stood up, grabbing the ball as she did so. "Whose serve is it now, me and Blurr or you and Blurr?" She asks while holding up the ball.

Rodimus lifts his head and tilts it jauntily to the left, hands on his hips. "That's all right," he grins. "I'm pretty distracting, I know!" Then he starts to move back to the serve line. "Anyway, it's still your serve. Or rather, Blurr's," Rodimus nods towards the speedster. Luckily, there's an upper limit to how fast Blurr's hand can hit the ball without destroying it, so the Boy Prime doesn't have to worry about returning a speed-of-light volleyball or anything.

The day someone invents a ball that can withstand a full-speed serve from Blurr is the day Blurr wins all the volleyball tournaments ever. Possibly even the tournaments that happened before the invention of the super volleyball. He scoops up the thankfully ordinary volleyball and chuckles at Firebolt.
"You've gotta watch out for this guy," he warns her, but in a perfectly light-hearted tone. "Watch out but don't watch because if all you do is watch he won't think twice about making his move while you're all dazzled." He takes his position and sets up to serve and grins at Rodimus in friendly challenge through the netting, eyes dancing with humour at one remembered incident or another. "Not that thinking twice was one of his strengths, of course!"
Blurr urges Haywire one last time to come keep score. He gets something like an affirmative, with complaints about whether to put on the armour or drag it back in the towel, and snorts to himself. Then he sends the serve up overhand. It isn't top speed, no, but it's still not much better than a ball-shaped rocket. Maybe he should serve underhand next time.

Firebolt is glad to let Blurr serve, while she figures out the best place to be that won't be in his way when he zips around to the next place. She's also trying to figure out what the whole watch bit was about, like that could mean something important for later on. Or maybe she's just reading too much into things?
She shrugs to herself and decides to cheer Blurr on instead as he serves.
ooc: Sorry, power outages made it hard to even get in contact much less post. Haha.

Rodimus's optics open wide, and he dives for the ball... but he was towards the back of his area, and there's no way he'll make it in time.

No need to worry about staying out of Blurr's way, Firebolt; he's quite good at dodging. If anything, he's watching to make sure he isn't in either teammate's way when he darts around – and that's why he veers off sharply to one side when Rodimus's dive falls short and Blurr goes to recover it. He avoids Rodimus… and only whiffs the ball with his knuckles as he does so.
"Gah!"

"Yeeeeaaah!" Firebolt can't help but do a little cheer as that seems to be a point. Then she pauses and looks over. "Are you two ok? That was a spectacular dive yea, but now you're both splat on the ground." She's grinning as she says this though, because it is a pretty hilarious image.

Rodimus laughs joyously despite having hit face-first in the sand. He rolls to the side and pushes himself up, brushing the sands off. "Ah, look at us," he grins, then reaches down to help Blurr up. "So much for the fancy moves! Though at least this means I'll get a serve in."
