Spy Shot can't just get into a firefight. His weapons use up too much energy and there's almost no light in the area to replenish himself with. He has to be strategic.
His dimmed optics protect him from being blinded as red light fills the area, but he quickly dials them up to full power. His opponent knows where he his and he's on the offensive, so stealth is no longer a priority. Besides, the light of his optics is lightly to get lost in the light of Dustcutter's. Same colour, after all.
A projectile grazes his leg at he rolls behind cover and he takes a brief moment to frown at it. Nothing vital damaged. It doesn't matter. He must keep moving and press the attack. Circling around the set of pipes he's using as cover as Dustcutter makes for his position, he attempts to ambush his opponent from the back or side and tackle him.

Ol Dusty wasn’t expecting to be counter ambushed, as it was, he only just turned in time to catch the tackle on his side rather than straight from behind. The blow had him stumbling sideways but true to form, his four legs held him stable. If he was a little quicker, he would have let the enemy run straight into an outstretched buzzsaw, instead the rush of his opponent caught him on his left elbow. He was however quick enough to counter with a punch of his right buzzsaw aimed straight at that pesky laser.

Dustcutter's buzzsaw bites into his external lens, sending sparks flying, and Spy Shot catches Dustcutter's arm before it cuts any deeper. Well, that settles being able to use that weapon for the moment, regardless of how much energy he has left. He'll have to take care not to lose his flash, just in case.
He grabs for Dustcutter's left arm as well, trying to catch it in a crushing grasp. It may not be enough to hurt a larger mech, but he's still strong enough to cling to a protesting Dinobot.
OOC: Catching of Dustcutter's right arm done with permission.

The tiniest Decepticon like to think he was better in melee than that but the truth was he mostly relied on his reflexes. His nemesis was proving quite an adept opponent, painfully adept as his left arm was also man mech handled.
The motors that drove his buzzsaws weren’t designed to resist crushing pressure, under Spy Shot’s grip his right failed and then his left. His own pincers on the other hand, he unfurled at the same time he fired again with his railgun…point blank…at the other’s chest and laser.

Shots from Dustcutter's railgun pound into Spy Shot's chest, and oh dear, this is definitely the most damage he has ever received outside of simulated training with Dinobot. And the damage he received in training generally resulted in faux-death. But this isn't training. If he dies now he will stay dead.
That is unacceptable.
Filled with a feeling about as close to panic as he'll ever get, Spy Shot brings his flash online with a high-pitched hum and strobes it once.

Instant bright light, relatively dark space, big optic – it’s a recipe for disaster. Dustcutter is blinded, at least for the few seconds it takes for his optical processor to reboot, he stagger backwards away from the evil flashy mech and tries to break the grip on his arms.

A few seconds is all Spy Shot needs! Lunging forward, he aims for Dustcutter's railgun with one claw, ready to hit, pinch, tear...
All the while he fights against his own systems, as they warn him to shut down, conserve energy, redirect all resources to repair. He is an Autobot, and he will defend their ship against Decepticons, no matter the cost!

“Arggghhh! You slaggin fraggin maternal factory unit slagger!” Rail howls in pain as the Nipple Gripple of Doom rends his railgun into so much twisted scrap.
His vision slowly coming back, he thrashes out with his now freed pincer trying to dismember the offending pinchy pincher.
Over the radio he hears the call for a tactical turnabout of forward advancement and decides that this might really be a good idea around about 10 seconds ago.

Dustcutter's pincer bites deep into Spy Shot's damaged shoulder joint - and his internal repair systems had almost managed to return it to full function! - slicing through metal and wires and leaving it dangling and almost detached.
That is quite painful. Spy Shot frowns, and then cocks back his working arm to try and punch Dustcutter smack dab in the eye with his remaining arm.

The arm connects true with Dustcutter’s optic, sending spider web cracks through the external lens and blurring his vision. To Unicron with this Dustcutter mused, retreat when confronted with a reasonable modicum of skill was a proud tradition of the Decepticons and the little four legged mech was not about to break from what worked so far.
He took a step, four legs, one step each, away from the homicidal psychopathic – in Dustcutter’s imagination – laser on legs, transformed and attempted to retreat by driving through the enemy.

Spy Shot swings out of the way as Dustcutter drives past, then turns to follow him. The Decepticon doesn't have to worry about the camera-bot spoiling his retreat, though, as Spy Shot can't even muster up a jog as more and more of his energy stores get rerouted to repair functions. Still, he trudges determinedly after his target, refusing to allow him to stop and continue wrecking the Event Horizon.
He makes a note to play back his recordings of the fight for Dinobot and get feedback on his combat performance.

Dustcutter heads for the nearest exit from these infernal caverns said exit being the way that Spy Shot got in. He transforms back into his robot mode and climbs/falls down the wall cavity. With only two of his four feet magnets operating, he knew he was going to have some difficulty but for lack of better options, he just threw himself to the mercy of gravity.
Tumbling out the open hatch, he gathers his senses, waits a nano for his stomach to catch up, transforms and spots a weird clear sphere. With not much time to do much else let alone study the hamster ball, he ignores as he drives for the big exit everyone came in hoping he can find a ride back home.
