Cannonball picks himself a building, making his way up the levels until he reaches one that seems to have fresh debris scattered about.
Oh hey, a blue Seeker. Cannonball raises his gun-arm, grinning as he approaches. "Well, ain't I a lucky spawn of a glitch."

Assault rounds a corner and, sure enough, there is his first opponent! He raises his rifle at the same time as Cannonball lifts his arm and soon realizes that he can't fire without giving the pirate a shot as well. So instead, he stands there, looking at the other through the sights of his rifle, though he does chuckle heartedly.
"Perhaps not, old boy! It would seem that we are at a bit of an impasse, fancy that!"

"Bit of an impasse indeed," Cannonball answers, stepping slowly around in a circle. Always moving, always keeping on his toes - don't relax, don't get comfortable, don't let your guard down.
"So what're you willing to do to get me to let you go free, eh?"

A dance! What a gentlecon Cannonball is! Assault takes him up for it, keeping his rifle perfectly level, both hands on the weapon, his nullrays pointing ahead at useless angles. Every step that Cannonball takes is matched by one of his own, moving in perfect sync, careful, calculated, while his lips are far more frantic.
"Oh, you are delightfully cocky rogue, are you not? I must applaud you for being so courageous to make such incredible demands, despite us being on almost equal footing." Now, he affords himself a chuckle, relishing in the situation. Oh, what did Cannonball miss?

The null rays give the seeker an advantage in firepower, as Assault has those along with the rifle, compared to Cannonball's solitary arm-blaster. It'd take too long to call down his Cyber Key, and it would leave him open as well.
"Ah, come now, I got no interest in making this farce of an exercise go on longer'n it has to. You can run along and play 'appy little jet soldier all you want - I just wanna know what's in it for me, lad."
He ignores the equal-footing line - showing concern is showing weakness.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." With every uttering of that he squeezes his trigger, just a little, not enough too press it down all the way. A cheap trick, trying to make Cannonball nervous, just to toy with him a bit.
"Now you are asking me to let you go! One should not contradict themselves in such a shameful fashion, it is rather unbecoming of one with such a fabled reputation, old sport."
