Space segment 2 - week 4 - day 6 (Always loved 2*n) Hard Light Simulation room #free. Open for those wanting to engage in free climbing.
The winds howl and whistle, sweeping up stone-dust and raking it across pseudo-flesh in a most painful manner.
'Don't look down' Woops, Ramulus casts a glance downwards, "Oh, that's high!" He exclaims, hugging the wall a bit closer. 'don't hug the wall!' comes his reasoning, Ramulus being more than miffed at himself doing everything but the right thing in his current situation. But hugging it feels so much safer! Hugging is a sure ticket to falling! And the falling is high!
Taking a large breath out, Ramulus relaxes, loosens a wrist blade and hooks it further upwards into the rocks. His alternate foot seeks a spot to set itself down. What he could've reached hours ago in beast mode is still so far away in robot mode. It's the challenge.
With gritted teeth, the Maximal reaches upwards again, now with the other wrist, and hooks it in. When he switches to do the same with the other wrist, however, the stone breaks lose, and Ramulus crashes his head nose first on a ridge. Amidst the wet feeling is a familiar sense of free falling, hands grabbing fruitlessly for hold.
With a muted thump, his body crashes hard upon a phasing rock plateau below. With a groan, and a hint of laughter, Ramulus pushes himself onto his back, staring up at the Wall while wiping the 'blood' from his nose. "Slag, that was stupid." He's grinning though. Masochistic? Maybe, cause he could definitely include a safety harness instead of a phasing floor mid-fall! But that's.... too soft.
Still, on the opposite of the wall, a digital scoreboard floating in the air beeps several times, updating stats with every beep: Ramulus is in the midzone of the mountain, climbing strictly in robot mode. Fell down 20 times while in that zone. Has 4 plateaus left to safe his butt from crashing into game over. His goal in this bout is the summit.
It's been quite some time since he got severely injured. Everything grew back in place. It's about time he went on wrecking it again exercising. If it wasn't part of his life to get wrecked and fixed, then why did his spark alienate and got so good at the fixing? Had poor Ramulus scanned a rhino or an elephant and had his core been fine, everyone would've picked him as the tank for their D&D campaigns. Damn, he'd be Torca!
[Partly to prove he made it out of med-bay alive. Partly to see if he can be prodded into setting up survival training? Who knows. All for the funs, though!]

Training can feel quite perilous! Harsh, howling winds. Steep cliffs! Colossal boulders just waiting to meet you, once you near the summit? We shall see! Silverbolt's wings will not aid him here as he joins in on this training exercise. No, the virtual tempest will not let it be so easy for him.
He has to scale this cliffside his own hands, paws, and talons, as he takes on this challenge in robot mode. And the bird-dog is just fine with that. As me he slowly (but steadily of course) ascends upward, he notices the figure of Ramulus ahead of him. Silverbolt would normally shout a word of greetings, but he declines for now. The wind is too harsh to for him to get a word in. He'll see the transmetal once he reaches him. If he reaches him. The climb ahead looks a bit difficult.

The scent of both wolf and eagle drifts on the air, and Ramulus halts starting his climb. It is not uncommon for the simulation to include eagles to knock you off. Wolves have no home on these slopes though... Must be smelling Silverbolt.
'Ah' he confirms, and smiles, momentarily pausing his set to allow Silverbolt to catch up. He observes the fuzor's efforts with a gentle smile. When he's close enough, Ramulus will offer, "care for some company? Tis quite lonely going up there!"

A few more climbs. Nothing seems too tough yet. That's most likely subject to change. On grabbing a nearby ledge, the fuzor's hand slips a bit, causing him to slip down a foot or two. A little pratfall is not enough to deter him, however, and Silverbolt finally manages to catch up with Ramulus. Once Silverbolt reaches Ramulus, he gives the fellow Maximal a nod and says, "Greetings, Ramulus!"

Ramulus gives Silverbolt a grin, giving him a wave, "Hello Silverbolt! Nice to find another mech challenging the stone. Up to climb some more?"
He attaches to the wall again and inquires, "how're you these days? Well mended from the raid, I hope?"

"Ah of course!" Silverbolt answers. "I've barely begun. As for my injuries..." Silverbolt pauses, climbing a bit higher as one of his hands was beginning to sleep. "I'd say they are fully recovered, though I did hear minor ringing in my audio receptors for a few mega-cycles afterward. BUT, it has subsided."

"So do we need to speak louder around you now?" Ramulus laughs and climbs onwards, silent for a moment. Then he grumbles, "You know? Command should set up an attack next time we come across those warmongers, wreck their ship and dent some faceplates. I'd be up for that... you?"

Silverbolt lets out a laugh too as he follows Ramulus up the mountainside. As he listens to the ram's suggestion, Silverbolt stops the climb for a moment, contemplating before he asks, "Take the fight to them? That...would be a risky endeavor." Silverbotl climbs a bit farther, nearing Ramulus. "But there is no doubt the fiends would do the same to us given the chance..." The bird-dog uses his talon-feet to push him up the ledge a bit, finally reaching Ramulus' height.
The virtual wind started to press against Silverbolt's face. Squinting his optics, he adds, "And yet...I do not think an unprovoked attack would be the most honorable choice of action." Silverbolt shakes his head. "Ah, forgive me. The question is perplexing me more than it should."

Ramulus smirks, "and yet you are free climbing a mountain. Which is also risky" He says while heaving his body onto the plateau where the wind reigns, bracing against the currents.
"Hmm, I've never been much for letting myself become a target, but maybe I'm just itching for a fight!" He looks and smiles at Silverbolt, talking a bit louder to gain over the howling wind, "just ramblings of an old goat, don't let it distract you too much. You want to talk about something else?"

"Ah, a fine point," Silverbolt nods. "And I cannot say I don't understand your frustration against the Decepticons and their actions against us. When the time comes that we do meet them once again, they will assuredly pay for their actions friend."
A rock tumbles downward towards the fuzor, about the side of his head. He quickly wavers to his right to avoid it, before continuing, ""And this climb continues to grow ever perilous the further we reach the top." The winds are growing harsher and he's finding it to harder to speak. "Somewhat similar to this strange journey we find ourselves on. One wonders what awaits for us the further we trek."

Ramulus growls as he pulls himself upwards a bit more forcefully, "I'm frustrated by everyone, Silverbolt, it's just those Decepticons that really deserve something... crushed skulls and all that. Can still smell them in the ship if I think about it hard enough" The stone becomes harder and plants no longer grow around here. Still, it's home and the summit calls. Up high an eagle cries out to the intruders of its domain, but Ramulus climbs onwards, glaring at the bird.
He slips only a few times, hanging from one hand for just a moment before attaching himself back against the wall. He is gaining a collection of cuts and scrapes. "This 'journey' brings us all the slag that comes with our ancestors. It spits us into their war, do we belong there? Sure, we have our own lunatics, but..." He looks to the fuzor and stops his rant, he's feeling anger again, and it's unhealthy for his spark, "at least a mountain you can leave when you want to. A universe not."
((Sorry for posting so late! Nothing seemed right, so in the end Ramulus ended up just being so darned.... Ramulus. In all his rough and blunt stoicness.))

"Yes, the remnants of their vile stench do linger throughout the ship's halls every now and then," Silverbolt sniffs as if he were taking an unfortunate whiff right now. He then glances at the eagle up ahead with curiously, before moving pass the bird. The mountain winds continue to gain more ferocity with each climb, causing the bird-dog to use his wings to gain a bit of an extra push upward, but not much seeing as simply flying upward was cheating.
"So many questions have been raised," Silverbolt says through gritted teeth as the winds send him sliding down the mountain side. "We can only hope that the answers will come to us at the end. And...if...not," Silverbolt struggled to get out as the winds' howls rose in volume. "We can always look forward...to putting an end...to the Decepticon's tyranny once...and for all."
OOC: Not that I'm much better about it. Lots of stuff threw me off track, but I'm back now.

"You have great ambitions, Silverbolt" Ramulus notices. "Ambitions... are... good." The TMII peers ahead, legs trembling. "I-" A sudden gust of wind catches his words and rips it from their conversation. Ramulus scoffs, //I can see the top. C'mon let's go.// He pushes off, determined. His hooves clip the earth and it breaks underneath, Ramulus gasps and grabs for hold, but fails and falls yet again. The holoroom stops the fall by forming another plateau into which his body crashes. There's a beep: 4-1.
Recovering from the impact for a bit, Ramulus growls and pushes back up, joints popping back into place. //hrmn... the wind is being a bore//. He loosens his wrists and inspects the blades before sinking them back into the wall. How annoying to have fallen, it means double work. But he now knows that if he keeps his blades firmly digged in, this will not happen again.
//As I said, saw the top. I'll buy you a drink if we make it.//

//Ramulus, are you-// Silverbolt turns around to check the status of the old goat. This proved to be a mistake as the wind caught him by surprise, pushing him backwards Silverbolt's back slams against the virtual mountainside, as the talons on his feet tightly grasp the nearest ledge they could find.
Silverbolt embarrassingly hangs upside down, staring at the ground below for a minute before calling back. //I will take you up on your offer then, Ramulus. But are you sure you will be able to catch up from down there?//

An old goat, eh? Ramulus is not quite old. Is it the heart failure that gives the impression? His interest in dusty geology topics? His beard? Is it his scent? He would swear it's perfectly fine l'eau d'abbysinian #5. How can you not love the mystical untamed scent of dark Africa, Silverbolt, how can you not?
Ramulus looks up to the upside-down fuzor and chuckles, //The mountains remain my birthright, Silverbolt... however handicapped I may make myself to them with whatever rule that makes the climb that much harder, I will overcome simply because that is what has been done always// he heaves himself upwards and secures himself with his blades, //I will catch up.//
He sniggers, //How about yourself, bat-man? Considering a change in beastmode, are you?//
