Month 4, Week 4, Day 4, Ship, Open to 'Cons
Swindle is in his workshop finishing the last of his packing. You'd never know he was carrying anything extra, but having a private storage dimension in your chest is handy that way. As he leaves the little converted storeroom, he looks it over fondly and arms his burglar alarms. They mostly consist of various high-powered weapons connected to tripwires of varying complexity, though Frenzy will find plenty of black ice to occupy him, if he feels the need to get all cyberpunk. Also there is a padlock on the door, and a 'Closed' sign has been substituted for the usual 'Open.' Can't be too careful with one's property, after all!
The merchant strides down the hall, whistling a jaunty tune to himself, and eventually arrives at the room Skyfire shares with two tanks. Knocking on the door, he calls "All ready for our supply run, buddy?"
It won't just be a supply run, of course. Swindle has a private errand he needs to take care of as well. But there's no need to trouble Skyfire with that.
OOC: Any 'cons who want to say they're part of the crew for this little expedition, do so!

...'buddy'? Skyfire shook his head. An interesting factoid: In Swindle's universe, apparently friendships developed quite fast. Still it was reassuring to hear. And Swindle was very...the opposite of Skyfire, really. Gregarious, outgoing, loaded with friends. Really, Skyfire thought, a good mech to know.
And it was very, very nice to be invited out on this little venture. Space exploration! In an entirely new dimension. It was more than a little exciting. Much better than his terrible attempt at medbay. He needed to have a talk with his inline supervisor about his strengths and his...NOT strengths.
He finishes stowing his field maintenance kit, and heads to the door. "I'm ready." He smiles down at Swindle, then hesitates. "You...you did clear this with our commander, yes?"

It has less to do with Swindle's universe, and more to do with Swindle figuring that being friendly with people will make them more likely to give him money.
Swindle grins up at the shuttleformer. "She practically ordered me to do it, Skyfire. Don't worry. We need raw materials for the latest secret project that we're apparently working on," he says, waving a servo vaguely. "We're supposed to meet the rest of the crew in the hangar and then we can be on our way."

A familiar tall, dark blue and purple figure clomps into the hangar bay, apparently not caring if this entire level of Ship knows he's here.
Duskwing stares briefly at Dark Skyfire, scowls, and turns to the yellow Not-Quite-Our-Combaticon and says, "Hey, Swindle. I hear we're getting off this rustbucket for a while. We goin' someplace cool, like Pzz-Zazz, or what?"
Getting off Ship has its points. It gets him away from Assault for a while, and it gives Duskwing a chance to fly for a while. These days, he's one of the few near-space capable Seekers, which is probably why he was assigned to this mission. It certainly wasn't for his command skills, trustworthiness, or quick thinking.

This is an explorations mission, essentially. So they need a scout-ish type individual. Blackarachnia also wanted someone who could be trusted to keep an eye on the conman.
Hence, Swindle gets a hellcat for the trip.
Ravage pads silently around the corner, pausing when he sees Swindle and Skyfire. He sits back on his haunches, and his tail wraps around his legs.
Mrrrrrr.

Mistwind had been waiting for Swindle in the hangar for a while now. Wandering off might make him be late, and he didn't want to be late for this! Mistwind is well suited to help. Oh and yeah, space, totally!
Roosting on top of a stack of crates, which he has expertly subdued, he's currently applying maintenance to his hanglider system. He looks like a little gargoyle with the wings stretched out like that. When mechs enter, he rises a bit and salutes before continueing the ready-making. Field trip! He's so excited!
Then, when he's done, he folds and proceeds to wait, swooning focused.
Upon Ravage's entry to the hangar, Mistwind will exclaim "Cat!" and sit down next to the panther with a big face-covering grin. Pay close attention to the warcat, Mistwind, he might demand pettings.

((ooc: srsly? Bookmarks hate me. PLEASE poke me if it's my turn and I haven't posted promptly! I'm so sorry!!))
Secret project? Skyfire frowns. "I don't know anything about a secret project." It's not said arrogantly rather...he feels left out. Do they not trust him enough? Well, Swindle did, apparently, so the frown melts. "I really appreciate you asking me on this mission." It's a good way to build team rapport, he hopes.
He also hopes there are more mechs like Swindle and a few less like, uh, Rampage on the crew, he thinks, as he steps into the hangar.
"Uh, hello, Duskwing...?" They'd...gotten off on the wrong foot before, perhaps. The whole stress of trying to prevent the Tyrans from eviscerating each other probably hadn't shown Skyfire in his best light. Especially the light with Frenzy wrapped around his head.
He studies the other two--the one opticked felid looks...like he might be troubling to the upholstery. All. those. spikes.
And they're all looking at him. All right, Skyfire. Time to make a Good Impression tm.
"Hello, fellow Decepticons!" He flashes what he hopes is a charming, but is probably really a dorky, smile. "My name's Skyfire and I guess I'm your transportation for this mission." He grins. "Requests for the inflight meal?" It's an old joke, but still, he hopes, funny.
Maybe?
Otherwise, this was going to be a loooooooong flight.

"Nothing quite so glamorous, Duskwing. Just a supply run to pick up some raw materials. Ravage!" Swindle gushes, switching his attention immediately. "You playing watchcat this trip? You really ought to get a pair of silencers for those cannons of yours. I don't mean just a muffler on the end of the barrel, I mean a sound-dampening stealth field. I know infiltrators who won't go a mission without one."
Swindle takes a look over the assembled Decepticons before addressing the shuttleformer. "Well, it's not a secret if everyone knows about it, Skyfire. Anyway, of course I asked you! It was either you or Blast Off and he's . . . Blast Off." The merchant gives Mistwind an indulgent smile and keeps one optic on him, ready to haul him out of mauling range if Ravage decides to have personal space issues.

"Huh." The dark blue and purple grunted at Dark Skyfire. "Youse loadin' extra rations? Dis gonna be a long haul? Too bad we ain't got him for pickin' up supplies." He snickered. "Just gimme regular cubes, not none of dat weird experimental dross Certain Guys made in the lab, get my drift? I ain't no testbed."
"Huh. Ravage." Duskwing gave the spiky hellcat a look and a grunt that acknowledged his existence, but didn't presume beyond that.
He frowned at Swindle, looking somewhat disappointed for a bit, then suddenly grinned. "Oh, a supply run! Ain't been on one of those for a while! Heh."
Duskwing grinned again at the sight of Mistwind. "Hey, Mistwind! Youse comin' too? Dis gonna be an interestin' mission, if you get what I mean. 'member dem types of fight I 'splained to you? Heheheh."

When Mistwind plops down near (too-near in Ravage's opinion) to the cat, Ravage's head draws up and back, and his ear-like spikes lay back. Mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. If Frenzy were here, he'd probably start playing the Mean Kitty Song about now. Ravage turns his head just enough to so that he can watch Swindle, yet still keep Mistwind in sight. //Unnecessary.// is his answer to the conman's offer. The cat considers his traveling companions. By the Allspark, how did he wind up being the proverbial grown-up of this mission?

The exact moment that Ravage is beginning the flattening of his ears and takes on the pose, Mistwind fluidly averts his look with equal speed and rechecks the clasps located on his lower legs. While he's not moving physically, his presence suddenly (instantly) seems to move away from the cat.
After holding the signals of disengagement just long enough, Mistwind calmly relocates to a different area and waits there. He responds no less happier to his partner, "This one is definitely counted for this mission, Mister Duskwing Sir! All set up and ready to work!" There is pride and joy as he says this, ending with a tilt of his head, "and yes, I haven't forgotten the new definitions, Mister Duskwing Sir. ... Will this be a raid then?"
Skyfire is space capable?!! Mistwind briefly sends the flier a special warm smile reserved only for those with a flying altmode. More jets for the Decepticons!

Skyfire is not sure why he's a better choice than Blast Off, but he can tell Swindle means it as a compliment. He gives a shy smile that drifts between Swindle and Duskwing. "I've had considerable time to prepare since being invited," he loves that so much, you have no idea, "that I've pulled a good load of rations. It should be more than enough to get us there and back." Because a good Space Investigator tm is always prepared!
"Raid?" That's unsettling. Not that Skyfire's worried. Well, all right, he doesn't look forward to the idea of not being able to transform in the face of combat. That could get...messy. "Is this a raid?" And yes, Duskwing, look at these big, space capable engines and that thick ceramic armor. Skyfire is all about space travel. He returns the smile, because, well, air frames need to stick together. And Duskwing seems an awful not more friendly than, uh, the spiky kitty.
....or Frenzy. Oh dear, he thinks, as Frenzy suddenly drops from the ceiling like a cyberspider. He twitches in memory of those same little claws and toes...in his face. Not again!
"Please," he asks...the air apparently. "No fighting!" He just radiates authority, no?

Swindle gives Duskwing and Mistwind one of his rare brief frowns. "Not a raid, sadly. We're just heading to a mineral-rich asteroid field to mine some ore. The Decepticon way. With high explosives," he says, grinning from one side of his face to the other as he reaches into his drawer and pulls out a metal case full of military-grade blasting charges that would make Whirligig twinge with envy. "So it shouldn't be totally boring," he finishes, closing the case and stowing it back in his storage dimension.
Suddenly, Tiny Horrible Troll is riding Responsible Grown-up Cat. "Huh. Intel sent Ravage and Frenzy? It's almost like they don't trust us!"
Amusing as it would be to see which horrible ball of spikes ends up dismembering the other, the bus hasn't even left yet, meaning that Swindle can't threaten to turn it around. He produces the Sonic Jammer 3000 instead. "Don't make me separate you two. Time is money, and if you waste one, you waste the other." And that's just sick and wrong.

Duskwing scowls at Swindle as the yellow con artist (but not Con Artist) drops the information that they were going to an asteroid belt. "Frag that. Do we look like a bunch of rock miners? We're Decepticons. If it's rich, gotta be some schmucks mining it--we should just knock 'em over and take their ore. Save us from doin' the work, see?"
Then the cat explodes with more spikes and blades. Duskwing watches this spectacle with dull surprise.
