During Month 3, advertisements begin appearing on TV to promote one of Blackrock Industry's newest motor vehicles. One of the most memorable is as follows:
A sleek, orange three-wheeled vehicle (similar to the Carver) drives down a scenic desert road, trendy-but-relaxing music playing in the background... then suddenly, the road ahead of the vehicle erupts in an explosion, with a swell of dramatic, heart-pounding music!
The tri-car smoothly swerves to avoid, coming out shiny and undamaged. But apparently this part of the desert highway has been converted into a minefield, because the explosions just keep on coming! The tri-car maneuvers around each one, showing excellent handling, and comes out unscathed.
Just as it seems that the inexplicably minefield has been passed, a final massive explosion erupts almost directly underneath the vehicle, throwing it into the air. In mid-air, the tri-car seems to come apart, only to reform into the shape of a skeletal metal man: the Autobot, Whirligig! Landing on his feet in a crouch, Whirligig straightens up and grins at the camera, the fireball from the explosion in the background, and says, "Awesome."
The commercial then cuts to a shot of the same vehicle in green rotating in a white void (though it still casts a shadow), and a seductive male voice announces, "The [current year] Blackrock Superb."
End commercial.
At around the same time, some billboards show up advertising the Superb, including a grinning Whirligig giving a thumbs up and the caption "It's awesome." That was kind of a disappointment really, since Whirligig wanted to do a photo shoot of him posing enticingly with the Superb, but apparently marketing decided he didn't have enough sex appeal. Eh, humans!
