//Rodger-dodger, Whizzer!// Whirligig says, cutting power to the propulsion. Then he holds on tight to his explosive prize and shouts, "Let it begin!"

The lake is coming up fast. And sure, the water is marginally preferable to the earth, but at these speeds, the surface tension is going to make it hurt anyway. Blurr can at least try to do something about it.
//I'll transform so hop in!// he urges Whirligig. They're roaring toward that lake at several times the speed of sound and still Blurr has time to think of a thousand different possibilities while he waits the seeming eternity for the smaller Autobot to make his way over. This could go so very wrong and if it goes wrong then he won't be the only one to suffer. Haywire, Whirligig, the other Autobots….
Then don't let it go wrong! says Haywire, sounding more confident than he feels. Blurr is bolstered by that, nevertheless – and Whirligig's enthusiasm. Whirligig hanging onto his shoulders, he pushes away from the missile and transforms. Haywire stays firmly in place, rooted to his mounting on Blurr's front end, leaving the passenger seat free for Whirligig. It's a woefully snug fit, but fortunately, the little demo is more flexible than Blurr thought.
Now all Blurr has to do is engage his engines at just the right moment and they should skate across the lake pretty as you please. He plummets, a blue meteorite oblivious to the media circus that follows his and Whirligig's exploit. Wait until they see the news later.

The ride may be a little cramped, but Whirligig's not even particularly uncomfortable. He had to squeeze through a hole not much larger than his head once. Now that was uncomfortable. This? This is just fun!
He busies himself laughing his silly little head off, and if something does go wrong and they don't make it? Well, what a way to go!
//I think I definitely owe you a drink now!//

Blurr doesn't answer Whirligig, mainly because the water is close close close and he's focusing on his timing. The whole world narrows to the five feet wide strip of water behind and ahead of him, a ribbon of sunlight-silver on dark blue, and the rapidly shrinking distance between his thrusters and the surface.
Then he sees it and feels it and he opens his thrusters full, water spraying high to his sides in clouds of mist. What's left of the missile hits at nearly the same time.
"Always wanted to try surfing!" Haywire whoops as the lake heaves up beneath them.
OOC: Figure we're headed for a timeskip soonish?

"Victorious! We are victorious! Hahahahaaa!" Whirligig crows as they actually drive across the water. This is glorious. He's pretty sure it makes absolutely no sense, but then getting ripped out of your universe and dropped in another doesn't make much sense either... but it is glorious.
OOC: Sounds good to me!

Blurr, now that his only task is not taking a bath – it won't bother him all that much, but he just doesn't feel like it – while he angles for the shore, joins Whirligig and Haywire in laughing at their accomplishment. It is rather exhilarating, for all that it's nothing too very out of the ordinary in Blurr's book. He just coasts on the high at the same time he coasts from water to ground, still moving fast enough to pull leaves off the trees as he passes.
A few days later…
What is out of the ordinary is finding out that not only was the missile caper somehow caught on footage for most of the run, it has garnered the attention of the scientific community in general, and two of its most popular media personalities in particular. It takes some manoeuvring to get the network to greenlight the producers for contacting the Autobots, but whoever picks up that comm line will be treated to an effusively enthusiastic intern on the other end with a guest-appearance proposal set for three weeks ahead. (It was the soonest, the intern will explain, that they could pencil it into the production schedule.)
