"What I mean is... you can do right by your own people and do wrong by another people in the process," Hook says, to clarify his earlier point. So, sure, they can be treating all their cogs nicely and still screw over those who are not their cogs.
He is puzzled by the comparison to Silverbolt. Hook does not really know the Aerialbot leader. Is this a favourable comparison? Unfavourable? Just a thing? And... does he care? No.
"Look, I want you to talk to Blustreak about... about... the core... Earth's... core," Hook manages to say, intending everyone here, and then the pain behind his optics is just too much. He has to sit down, holding his head. Hook whispers, "Long Haul, set the reinforcements in Jetfire for me. I need a... moment, and those are time-sensitive."

Long Haul's optic band flares in concern, and he starts to move towards Hook, but then, at Hook's statement, he hesitates. He turns back to Slingshot, quickly setting things so he can leave them without causing problems. "Erm, be right back, Slingshot." Then he quickly heads over to Jetfire and begins setting the reinforcements.
"Hey, Hook, maybe you should let someone have a look at you when this is over?" he asks, worry obvious in his tones.

"They could," Jetfire grumbles at Slingshot. He just wants to be an optimist! Hook brings up a good point, though. They may be all part of the great big Autobot machine back home, but they certainly don't have consideration for Decepticons. Or organics.
He's startled as Hook trails off and hands him off to Long Haul. "Ah, is everything being alright?" He also sounds worried, though in his case it's more because the guy poking around his innards seems to be having a breakdown.

It's a thing, Hook.
Slingshot is pretty okay with doing wrong by Decepticons, but most Decepticons he's interacted with on any level other than "battle" are a) Starscream and his wingmates, and b) Stunticons. Okay, the Stunticons were a battle-interaction, too. Slingshot just holds a grudge from Motormaster battering his fuselage.
"Talking to Bluestreak isn't that bad."

"Someone had a look at me," Hook says archly to Long Haul. That is exactly his problem. "You may examine me when we are done here if you so wish."
Give the Selkie back his skin, Long Haul, in a fit of misguided compassion. That will surely end well.
He manages, "Talk to Bluestreak. It is not a punishment. He knows something you should know."
Hook takes a moment to collect himself. Is he okay? No. Is he capable of complicated surgery? Yes, he thinks so. Hook stands up slowly and walks back to Jetfire's side.

"Sure, I'll have a look then," Long Haul answers. The Constructibot, unfortunately, really has no clue as to the nature of what was done to Hook. He just assumes Hook's programming was 'fixed.'
When Hook returns to Jetfire's side, Long Haul steps away. "Well, if you've got this, I'll get back to Slingshot,"he declares and, assuming an affirmative from Hook, he does just that.

Jetfire's nervousness deepens as Hook returns and Long Haul goes back to Slingshot. "You are fine to continue work, then?"
Please don't go weird on him while operating on his delicate internals!

Slingshot didn't mean talking to Bluestreak was a punishment, but he miraculously keeps his mouth shut as Hook declares himself fit to go back to the complicated surgery.

"Perfectly fine," Hook insists crisply.
And lo, he works on Jetfire's insides, and everything is perfectly fine.
OOC: Timeskip to being in a training room to test the merge?

OOC: Skipping!
Long Haul looks around at the others in the training room and nervously rubs the back of his head. "So, erm... I never been able to turn into more 'n one thing. Do we need to figure out ahead of time who has to be what, or what?"

Jetfire shrugs at Long Haul, looking a bit perplexed. "I am not the sure. Brother and I are are always just knowing what other is thinking and going together simple as right half and left half."

"It was always pretty automatic with us," Slingshot says dubiously.

"Hmm, prior determination of change form might be a good idea. Very well, I shall form the torso. The rest of you may have it out among yourself who forms legs and arms," Hook says, waving a hand dismissively.
This will be a Build King style merge! Two people form legs, one person forms torso, and one person forms both arms.
"Phase one," Hook adds, and he transforms into a crane. This is entirely unnecessary, but that's just how he rolls.

"Eh, I'll be a leg. I'm sturdier than either of them jets, anyway." He then transforms into vehicle mode, because he doesn't know that it's entirely unnecessary. Then he just tries to concentrate on being a leg. Leg. Leg. Leg.
Then the updated code takes over, and he transforms again, preparing to link up.
(Hopefully, whoever is going to be the other leg will pick the opposite one, or their combined mode might have two left feet!)

Jetfire stares at Slingshot, scratching his head in thought. He's a bit taller than both Long Haul and Slingshot, and as he's not entirely sure how this whole multi-combiner thing works, he wonders if they might be a bit of a lopsided combiner if he decides to be a leg.
"I shall becoming the arms!" he states, then transforms. Into half of Safeguard. Whoops! Concentrating harder, he manages to activate his new coding, and begins going through an entirely foreign transformation sequence.
