"Honey, I'll make him sing," Nightshade replies to Mordred. She cocks her head at her opponent and smirks. "I like the suit, though it's a little dated in style, don'tcha think?" Though given that Nightshade looks like an eighties comics character come to life, she probably shouldn't be ragging on someone's fashion choices. Nightshade leaps at Hollister, knocking him over and tumbling them both into an ally and out of their previous thread and into this one. While they are tumbling, she tries to find out just how the suit holds up to her razor-nails. Cross-posted. Tumbling w/ permission

Not braced for the impact (or Nightshade would basically be tackling a wall), Hollister is bowled over and tries to roll with it so he isn't pinned down when the tumbling stops. Nightshade's rather dangerous-looking fingernails scrape across the suit's surface, which holds. Hollister lets out the breath he didn't realise he was keeping in, then lifts both feet to kick Nightshade off.

Nightshade is kicked off, and she flips with the movement, landing on a narrow window ledge. She perches there for a moment, frowning at Hollister.
"That is one tough little tin can you're wearing, baby. What's the matter? Shy?"

Maybe he's just a little shy, Hollister thinks. He hasn't worked up the nerve to tell Kup about the suit yet, after all. The brilliant lines on his suit shift colours erratically – mostly with his train of thought, and it's too bad he can't see the display he's putting on – before settling into an orangey yellow as he picks himself up into a ready position. It's nice to know the suit is as resilient against being cut open as it is to ripping when he misjudges a jump and the landing looks like he just wrecked a motorcycle.
Remembering he still can't get his voice to project, he answers Nightshade with flippant pantomime instead, cocking his head to one side and shrugging.

"Ooo, the strong silent type," Nightshade purrs when Hollister maintains his silence, "I like that."
She drops lightly down from the ledge and saunters a bit closer to Hollister, though she stays just out of arms reach. "So what's with the rainbow connection, hmm? Trying to dazzle the big baddies with you technicolor displays?"
It's starting to annoy Nightshade that he isn't responding to her. Maybe it's a girl inside the suit.

In truth, Hollister is largely unaware that his suit changes colour in places; he doesn't often look at himself while wearing it, too busy examining the environment and revelling in the fact that he has a HUD again. So when Nightshade calls him out on it, he pauses, confused. He realises with abrupt clarity that she's closer than he thought and it's his turn to perch on a window ledge, almost running vertically up the wall to get there. How had he not noticed her approaching?
Probably, he thinks, because he was staring too much at that obscene "costume" and everything it didn't leave to the imagination. That she's so very, uncomfortably attractive – which seems vaguely wrong, because she's trying to hurt him terribly – only now begins to dawn on him, possibly because his player forgot to read some notes, and perhaps the nanotechnology of the suit that blocks his telepathy messes with other things.
He doesn't have much chance to dwell on it. Is that a scream he hears from the street where Mordred and the Cavalier are fighting? He looks up as if he might catch a glimpse from the narrow mouth of the alleyway.

Nightshade chuckles when Hollister bolts. It doesn't matter what made him do so. He ran, and that means she has the power now.
Oh, but there's that lovely, lovely, male scream. She looks back over her shoulder and smiles cruelly, an odd little shiver of pleasure running through her body.
"Bye bye pretty firebird," she purrs. Nightshade cuts her eyes back toward Hollister, "Come down, little one, and let's finish the game. I'll not let my love best my coup count this night."

That was a scream. Hollister doesn't know who screamed, but somebody is in pain. Lots of pain. He hopes it's Mordred.
But then Nightshade speaks and fear seizes Hollister's heart, twisting it in his chest. His suit gives off a blinding yellow light. That was Rodimus screaming. Rodimus Prime is in danger. The yellow shifts first to red as he grows outraged with himself for being distracted from Rodimus, then to a furious reddish-orange.
"No," gasps Hollister, and he makes a leap that cracks the window ledge and the wall holding it, launching himself across the alleyway to another window, where he bounds again like a tennis ball back across to a fire escape. Nightshade is forgotten in favour of protecting his commander.

Nightshade's hand comes up to shield her eyes from that blinding glow, and by the time she can see again, Hollister is heading back toward the initial scuffle.
"Hmpf," she fusses, "Heroes are all the same. Let one fall and all others will come to defend his memory. So predictable."
She heads back toward the alley opening. She has a car to pick up.

OOC: Yup. Out of thread, cross-posting to Overdrive.
Hollister has one thought on his mind as he makes one last leap and hits the ground running: don't be dead, sir.
The scene ahead as he skids coming out of the alley doesn't look good. The Cavalier is down and badly wounded; Mordred looks ready to behead him. Hollister lays on all the speed he can. He could try to tackle Mordred down, but that could injure the Cavalier further. He could try to shove the Cavalier out of the way, but that almost definitely will injure him further. Oh, if only he had a gun or something! Hollister goes for Mordred, aiming to knock the sword from the black knight's hand.
