Starscream's facial plates twist into an expression even more unpleasant than his default one. "Nothing so mundane. The vast majority of our forces, and the Autobots, have been turned into humans. Those of us who remain Cybertronian are dedicating our time to locating our changed comrades and enemies, so we can deal with them appropriately. Congratulations, you are now one of the largest, most heavily armed Decepticons on the planet." By default, but it still counts.
That's why Starscream came himself. They don't currently have anyone else capable of both re-entry and flying back up again without a shuttle.
"Other than your transmitter, you are undamaged?" he asks.

When Starscream congratulates him Mistwind remains gravely silent. He is clearly processing the news. Considering how fast Mistwind is with processing data, this is long! Or is it? By calling Mistwind one of the 'largest' and 'most heavily armed', Starscream has created a paradox! Well, almost.
'...The vast majority of our forces... - ... turned into humans... - ...largest, most heavily armed...'
The maelstrom of thoughts and doubts and responses... Incredible pain and a hint of despair flicker across Mistwind's face. Heavily aware of Starscream's presence Mistwind casts his gaze to the ground and holds it there for the moment it takes to settle down. He's not resolving anything. Just busy ramming all those thoughts and fears into a mental box and placing a thousand locks on it. This is not a time to suffer. This is the time to be as valuable as he can be. "This unit has processed your information, Air Commander Starscream Sir." He notifies curtly. Following that he straightens and faces the jet with an unwavering stare and answers the question "Affirmative, Air Commander. Light exterior cuts and scrapings only. Performance not affected. Upcoming point of attention: Fuel tank processed fossil fuels native to Earth." There's that.
Mistwind continues strongly because he doesn't care for his own status. It's the whole that he cares about. Right now that whole is a scattered army, a transmogrified army... How could this have happened!?
"This one requests your orders, Air Commander Starscream Sir!" There's some serious work to be done. All for which he's probably not trained or classified, darn it.
Did the breaking news stun his perception? Yes! However, please take note that Mistwind is now in a very high state of alert.

Professor Sharp continues to watch as quietly as he can. Unfortunately, this is not "perfectly quietly." Now and again he shifts positions to keep his hands or feet from falling asleep.
OOC: Skippable unless noticed. The 'Cons are free to overhear the occasional rustle of leaves or grass, but don't have to.

In the distance, a car with a powerful engine roars along the highway. There's a latecomer to the party heading your way...

"We can flush your fuel tank once we get back to base," Starscream says as he straightens up into his normal hulking posture, scanning the horizon. He hates being in this exposed of a position without being in the air. "Current orders are to attach to me and accompany me back to the ship. I'll sort out what to do with you once you've been fully briefed on the situation," he continues, holding out a hand to the smaller Decepticon to lift him onto his back, adding as an afterthought, "You'll be pleased to know that Duskwing is alive and well and in good hands, despite currently being human."
Starscream tries to keep track of who's friends with who. It makes it easier to know where people will fall in a power struggle.

"Yes, Air Commander Starscream Sir!" Mistwind nods in acknowledgment and he steps forward to follow up. If Starscream is keeping tabs on the crew's personal relationships then he will, without a doubt, notice that the smaller mech stops for a second. The news receives its answer while Mistwind reaches for the hand, "... If unit Duskwing's superstructure replaced itself for an organic shell then he has either defied the makings of his foundry or has been compromised, Air Commander Sir. This one perceives the term 'not well' to be inadequate. More specifically, this one defines the change as treason to his heritage."
While hanging from Starscream's hand, or perching on, or climbing up to, Mistwind tilts his head in several directions before settling on a general direction as he becomes aware of a faint rustle. He observes, "Sir? The odds of you having backup in the low growth is extremely low, correct?...."

Meanwhile, a certain gray and black car turns off the highway and bounces along the country road leading to this farm. At the speed he's going, the driver must be getting quite the jouncing. Fortunately for the driver... there is no driver. The car skids to a stop at the entrance of the lane leading to this particular field, then rolls slowly forward.
"Hello?" the car calls out in Cybertronian....

"Correct, Mistwind," Starscream says quietly, moving to lower the little mech back to the ground. The Decepticons don't have a lot of carformers, nothing that would speak Cybertronian and also make that distinctive noise of an engine and tires on a rocky dirt road. Knock Out is off-planet. Clio, Swindle, and Counterpunch are AWOL or human. And Crankcase wouldn't announce his presence. "Change of plans, stay low and move to flanking position. Ready your grenades."
Mistwind should be able to move about relatively stealthily in the tall crop field. Starscream towers over even the tallest stalks, however. There's no chance of him going undetected.
"Hi," he calls back, transforming his right hand into a missile launcher and sending a volley toward the unseen speaker, igniting his afterburners for a burst of speed as he dashes towards them.

At Starscream's command Mistwind slips off into the growth as directed. How is he going to announce that the position is secured when he has no comlink to announce it with? Part of being in command means that whatever order you might make, subjugates 'make it happen'. If they don't you can kick their behinds.
Mistwind really doesn't like getting his behind kicked! He moves through the wheat as stealthy as possible with moving quickly. If Starscream is attacking right on then that is the best window for small Mistwind to look for a flanking position.

Professor Sharp stiffens as Mistwind asks if Starscream brought back-up, certain that he's been discovered - and in fact, he probably has been. But then Bluestreak arrives on the scene and distracts Starscream, and Sharp breaths a sigh of relief.
Wait. Bluestreak? Still a robot? Well, good to know, that. He isn't quite positive what all has been accomplished on this trip, but he's fairly certain that knowing that will be useful.
Assuming he can make it home alive, anyway. The situation gets considerably more... lively as Starscreams opens fire. Professor Sharp pulls himself into a crouch, looking around for some more cover to dart to on his way out, even as he readies his Oscillating Frequency Electro-Disruptor.

Is that any way to greet an old acquaintance? There's the rasp of tires throwing dirt and the scream of a suddenly-roaring engine as Bluestreak throws himself into reverse and backs up as fast as he can. Sadly, reverse gear is not a great way to outrun incoming missiles; they strike the spray of dirt thrown up by his tires and explode.
Bluestreak is flung end-over-end by the sudden explosions just ahead of his front bumper, and skids a ways on his roof. "Ow-ow-ow!"
The car twitches violently and unfolds, coming apart to reform as the Autobot Bluestreak--just in time to see Starscream toward him. "Oh, slag."

"You!" Starscream snarls the word as he catches sight of Bluestreak. The Autobot that beat that he got bored of fighting and he was low on fuel anyway and didn't have a full weapons load-out that time he was on Mars. This time will be different, he promises himself silently.
There's an evil grin on his face as he closes to melee range, moving as quickly as he can this close to the ground. There's a scorched trail in the field behind him, and long furrows where his talons have dug into the fertile soil. He leaps at the smaller Autobot, aiming to grapple. One hand transforms into a buzzsaw, the other reaches for one of the rocket launchers on his opponent's shoulder, hoping to grab and twist it into useless scrap metal. If he so much as sees the glimmer of that damnable lightning-rifle coming out of subspace, he intends to turn it into a sawed-off.
And then once he has his enemy disarmed, and he's just a big ol' jetformer fighting a little carbot, he's going to take his time. This might be a fun day after all.

Small twigs snap as the little mech rushes for cover away from the crop-field. He's hardly paying attention to more than the two battling mechs when suddenly the environment at the edge of his view is off. Like a deer, Mistwind freezes and stares at the human. A human. A filthy, grime-crawling hatchling of an ape.
'Shoot it! ...Wait!' Exactly what did Starscream say just minutes ago? This human. Why is it here? Did it understand the glyph and the code? Could it be a transformer? Oh, this is so complicated!
Mistwind straightens slightly from his frozen stance, and takes a cautious step towards where he was going in the first place. In accent-less Cybertronian, Mistwind tests; "Admit you understand these words and live. Fail and die, human"

Professor Sharp gives an exasperated sigh and, balancing his Oscillating Frequency Electro-Disruptor in his left hand, he shifts his weight to his right leg and rests his right hand on that hip.
"Mistwind, darling, please," he answers in the best Cybertronian that human pipes can muster, "don't you know that if you want to frighten someone, they have to understand your threat first? And if they're not frightened, it makes killing them completely unsatisfying!" Then he beams at Mistwind. "Although, dear, I'm afraid you're much too adorable to be particularly frightening, whether I can understand the words or not. Sorry, sweetie!"

"Gyaah!!" Mistwind yelps and steps further away from Ned. "Y-you know my name! A-and language!" His shock shows itself in small rattles and the whirring of fans. So he demanded a reply; that doesn't mean that he's actually prepared for what it means. Humans don't speak those words, and they don't know his name... and they wouldn't try to pass words of wisdom upon him that would make the act of killing more enjoyable. As far as Mistwind is concerned, that's for Decepticons! "This one wasn't trying to frighten you!" Mistwind states defensively. "And if this one needed to kill you it would not feel satisfaction!" Oh, but the urge to kill does burn in his systems; This organic is abnormal. It "should not be" the mech whispers, "You should not be." he repeats more loudly. "Yet... my orders do not involve the extermination of, er, Lost Ones. For now at least." Unless Ned comes asking of course.
Mistwind looks the human up and down and scowls, "Your appearance really disturbs me, Lost One. Calling this one 'adorable' makes you even worse! Just... just disappear, over there or something." Mistwind waves off into a random direction before focusing on the battle again. He looks rather distraught from this encounter. Oh, please, shoo?
Double time-out on Bluestreak and Starscream. Edit for clarity.
