So we've got the Decepticons on the west side of a continent heading east in the search of a large power-beaming station.
Meanwhile, we've got the Autobots on the east side of a continent heading west in the search of a large power-beaming station.
It isn't hard to figure out where this is heading, and really, it's about damn time. For the travelers, we'll probably be doing rather large time-travel skips shortly, although we don't want to interrupt any interesting interaction in-progress.
Big battles are great and wonderful and they show up in every Transformers series sooner or later, but they're a little awkward to handle in bboard format, especially when we're all posting in rounds. Also, if we were all posting in one huge massive round, frankly, the fight would take forever.
So instead we plan to break the battle up into smaller groups, a number of mini-duels, if you will. Don't let the name fool you. They don't all have to be 1 Autobots vs. 1 Decepticon. It can be 2 against one, or 3 against 2, or whatever, but the point is, each smaller thread will only have the group that is immediately interacting with each other.
Each thread in the same combat scene will have something in the subject line to mark it. Say, "Power Station: Hook vs. Perceptor" or "Power Station: Dead End vs. Swerve." Things like that.
We ask that everyone who's in any one of the combat threads to keep track of all of them as much as possible, just in case something happens in another thread that they think might or should accept them. Using the two examples above, let us say Hook picks up and throws Perceptor. Dead End and Swerve decide they're near enough to get hit by the hurling scientist, and one of the Swerve decides to post getting hit because it makes his player giggle. This would bring Perceptor (and possibly Hook) into the Dead End vs. Swerve thread, although they could end up breaking off into mini-fights again later (perhaps this time it becomes Dead End vs Perceptor and Swerve vs Hook. Or, if Swerve's pissed off enough that he got hit with Perceptor, Swerve vs Perceptor).
This may seem a little confusing at first, but really... most of you are coming over here from LJ, where half the time RP consists of several threads going on over different posts and even different journals. I'm sure you can adapt.
The radio frequencies, as always, have no round-posting, and so the faction frequencies can be used as battle co-ordination. During the heat of battle is also the perfect time to use the General frequency for taunting, smart-assery, and witty comments, so have at it!
