We are now at somewhere around fifty characters in play. The game has grown, and already some things that were novel and unusual in the beginning are becoming overdone and tedious. The biggest example of this relates to character introductions. We sometimes introduce two to five new characters a week. Often, an in character day takes several weeks to actually role-play through. This results in a very considerable number of new arrivals in any given day, and the general pattern is almost always the same: the character wakes up somewhere. Maybe there's a dead body, maybe there isn't. They call out to their faction over the radio, they figure out where to go or someone picks them up, and they have everything explained to them. The first few times this was well and good, but for those of us here from the beginning it's started becoming repetitive.
Consequently, we would like to start to encourage people what we will call "Season Two Introductions." Think back to the original G1 Season Two. It was not unusual at all for a new character to suddenly be shown among the others of their faction with no explanation. The assumption is that they arrived off camera and between episodes, got their introductions done, and moved on to the action. We would like to encourage players to consider this option (and by encourage, we say, 'Please, please please please do this'). There are three exceptions, however.
1) Characters powerful enough to have a significant impact on the face of the game.
2) Characters who have very unusual circumstances surrounding their introduction.
3) Players who are introducing their first new character.
In all other cases, we implore the player base to consider an S2 Introduction (and as a note, once we start getting off Gillanan III, this may be made a requirement for all characters).
