One of the things about most shows, even shows with a small cast like Beast Wars, is that there is an active cast that shows up in most episodes, and there are second stringers that mostly fill out the background or only show up in a few episodes.
In order to mimic that dynamic here and allow people to play a greater variety of characters without feeling stressed about needing to post all that time, we're going to introduce those very classifications
Active Cast Members
There are characters that you are expected to keep active. If they aren't in a thread, in a few days at the most, you find them a new thread or a start one unless there are extenuating circumstances, such as the character not being in this dimension at the moment or the player being on vacation/sick. Command staff characters are by default in this category, but many other characters could be, as well. If you have a command staff character that you do not feel you can keep active, please let an admin and your faction leader know, so that a replacement can be selected. If you have multiple characters, you must have at least one active cast member.
Second Stringers
These characters do not need to be kept active, although you can keep them just as active as an active cast member, if you want. Very powerful characters such as Omega Supreme and, characters who fill odd niches such as Screwdriver are likely to fall into this category, although many characters can fit into this category. Second stringers who are not kept active will not be counted against a player when applying for new characters. A player may have no more than five second stringers.
To designate a character as an active cast member or a second stringer, please PM an admin. If you find yourself wanting to move up a second stringer to an active cast role or move an active cast member off to second stringer status, please let an admin know.
