OOC note: Some things in here, such as the Quintessons, the First and Second War, and the events concerning the fall of Crystal City, are not automatically known by newly arriving G1 characters. However, they can be found out quickly enough, especially with Kup making sure some of this is known.
Also note: Kup's going to name realities for the first known arrival from that reality. Thus, the G1 cartoon is the "Perceptor Reality."

For those who don't know, the Cybertronians of our reality were created by a race called the Quintessons. Five-faced tentacled mercenary freaks. We were made to be bought and sold, either as weapons or civilian products. When we eventually developed true intelligence, real emotions, well, either the Quints never realized or they just didn't care. Anyway, eventually we decided we didn't like being slaves and drove 'em off the factory world they had created, Cybertron. For those who know about those events, that's what was generally called the First Great War.
Some time down the road, a large number of Cybertronians decided it'd be a great idea to conquer the rest of the universe. This was before my time, so I can't say why they thought that was so bright. Maybe after the Quints, they just figured the best way to make sure we never get ruled again is to rule the rest of the universe. I don't know. But anyway, not everyone was too keen on that, and so began the first Cybertronian vs. Cybertronian war, or just the Second Great War. This is the war where the proper faction names first started getting thrown around, as the would-be conquerors called themselves the Decepticons and the rest of us called ourselves the Autobots. Of course, names don't always mean much, because we won that war through the development of transformation as a surprise stealth-type technology. I was built not long into the development of this, and am part of one of the first generations of Cybertronians who could truly refer ourselves as "Transformers." The 'Cons eventually managed to copy the tech - with varying degrees of success - before the war ended, but not soon enough to avoid losing it.
This lead into what gets called the Golden Age of Cybertron. Don't ask me about it, I spent most of it off-planet. The one thing I can tell you is that for a young war hero a bit too full of his own accomplishments, peace time Cybertron can get pretty dull after awhile.
The Decepticons never went away at the end of the Second War. They just went quiet, bided their time. What made them bold again was the creation of Megatron and the development of two major technologies: robot-mode flight and combining. They had a nine-million year lead over us as far as gestalts go, and even today robot-mode flight's pretty rare among us.
The first combining team was the Constructicons, who were 'recruited' through the use of a reprogramming device called the Robo-Smasher. Once they were, under Megatron's orders, they betrayed Omega Supreme and destroyed their creation, Crystal City. Omega sufferred an aborted attempt at reprogramming himself, and was left damaged in the affair, but still an Autobot. The Long Haul we got here is from before the reprogramming. Try not to bug him over the matter, and sure as scrap don't shoot at him.
I returned to Cybertron a bit after this, and a bit after the conversion of one dockhand from Orion Pax into Optimus Prime, and did my part helping to train the new folks for war. The war went on for some five million years with, I'm sad to say, the Autobots losing more than they were gaining, and the planet's resources being drained dry in all that time. At about that time, the energy situation got critical enough that Optimus Prime decided to take a crew to hunt up some new resources off-planet in the Ark. Megatron and a crew of 'Cons followed, they boarded the Ark and engaged the Autobots, and during the fracas the whole bunch of them crashed into Earth and were knocked off-line for four million years.
Meanwhile, the rest of us were left to deal as best we could on Cybertron. Now and again, groups from both sides would leave Cybertron for different reasons. Other teams looking for energy, the Decepticons looking to conquer, whatever else. Anytime Decepticons left, the Autobots had to send others out to contain them, and with my off-world experience, I was a logical choice to go, so I spent most of the 'Shut Down,' and even a lot of pre-Shut Down, away from Cybertron.
I was away when word came that Optimus Prime, Megatron, and their crews were alive and once more active, though I returned soon after that, in time to witness our final withdrawal from our home world. We managed to set up bases on the moons, and, thanks to our alliances with the humans, we were able to build Autobot City on Earth.
From here on out, it's mostly a matter of Kup summarizing the events of the Movie, then what he considers the major negative events of Season Three, starting with Dark Awakening.
What I need those of you who are from before this point to do, whenever we do get back and it comes up... well, first off you can send a crew out to the Space Memorial as early as you can, but depending on where you were pulled from, the Quintessons were all ready out there. If that doesn't work, then when Optimus Prime shows up looking like death warmed over, only without the 'warmed' part, and spouting some story about me, Rodimus, Ultra Magnus, Arcee, Daniel and Spike dying to the Quintessons, call him on it. Not only call him on it, but do everything in your power to prevent the launching of that fleet. Yes, Grimlock, that includes attacking Optimus Prime. I know it's hard, but that... thing that came back from there, it's not Optimus. Optimus did come back, before the end, but only after incredible losses, and the real Optimus Prime would rather avoid those losses.
After this is a summary of the events in the Return of Optimus Prime. Kup was pulled from before the end of the episode, however, so all he knows about how it worked out was what Omega Supreme told him: Optimus used the Matrix. He doesn't know the Matrix was emptied.
Best way to avoid that business? Don't fall into the trap to begin with, although if the Quintesson trap I just told you about plays out different, you may never have to worry about any Hate Plague, anyway. But just... do whatever you can to convince Rodimus not to rush out and rescue Prime's body. That won't be easy, because he's a stubborn and impatient thing, but it's what has gotta be done.
Anyway, that's all I got. This file's being left open, though, so folks who think of other things that should be known can add onto it. The main focus is on things that it'll be good to have warning of, but major events that might effect us here, like the Crystal City business, are fair game, too.
Oh. And we don't have a Primus, we have laser cores instead of sparks, we do have a Vector Sigma, and we do have a Matrix. For, erm, sorting purposes. If all that doesn't apply to you, then you probably ain't from my reality.
Also note: Kup's going to name realities for the first known arrival from that reality. Thus, the G1 cartoon is the "Perceptor Reality."
