"I figure one thing we need to start doing is entering in files for the folks we know who're on the other side, and might as well start at their top. Others are encouraged to add information to this file that I missed, or when new information becomes available, and to start other files on the other folks who've been identified.
"There's a few names that seem to appear over and over across most of the realities we have represented here. The big ones are 'Optimus Prime,' 'Megatron,' and of course 'Cybertron' itself. Not far behind those, though, is the name 'Starscream,' and while it doesn't seem to spell bad news on the order of 'Megatron,' we're still talking a high-order pain in the axel.
"I'm pretty sure that this Starscream is from my reality. Skyfire's identified him as the Starscream he knew, and both me and Skyfire remember the same encounter from back before the war. I'm not positive exactly what year he's pulled from, but he's a bit too substantial to be post-2005.
"Conniving, manipulative, treacherous, backstabbing, self-serving, deceitful, and power-hungry. Really, almost more than even Megatron, you want to take a look at what makes a Decepticon a Decepticon, look no farther than Starscream. He'll sacrifice everything and everyone around him in his quest for power, and will do it without shame, pity, or remorse. Hell, he once attempted to destroy all of Earth just to be rid of both Megatron and the Autobots on it. The biggest thing to target on him is his ego, but he'll even throw that aside if it suits his purposes and become a bowing, toe-kissing sycophant for as long as it does him good.
"Formidable in battle, he's an extremely agile jet-former with the ability to fly in both modes. His signature weapons are his cluster bombs and his Null Ray. The Null Ray, which he fires from his shoulder-rifles, is what you've really got to look out for. Shuts down electron flow in mechanical devices, and that includes us Transformers. Against most mechs, being hit once by that thing can spell instant defeat, and he's a good shot. Luckily, it's suspected to be a high power-drain weapon, since he's more likely to just use those shoulder-mounted things as standard blasters. Still, he packs a hell of a wallop even then, and should never, ever be taken lightly.
"If all he were was a formidable warrior, though, he wouldn't be near the problem he is. Brilliant, in his fashion, with a trend of creating grand and sometimes intricate plans built on deceit, falsehoods, and double-crosses that cause major pains for everyone involved before they come tumbling down like a Esylin ice-crystal sculpture with a snapped central support. And on top of everything else, Starscream's also an ex-scientist and explorer, and is known to have no small amount of technical talent of his own. He's responsible for the conversion of the Combaticons into a gestalt team.
"But, because all of that isn't nearly enough, he may actually have some form of immortality. In 2005 he finally bought the big one and was offed by the new Decepticon leader, Galvatron, suspected to be some sort of new incarnation of Megatron. Turns out, though, that with Starscream, 'dead' and 'gone' are two entirely different things, and a bit over a year later he was back as a ghost.
"Yeah, you read me. A ghost. Insubstantial, invisible if he desired, and capable of possessing other mechanoids. The known list of possessees includes standard Cybertronians, Unicronians, and even a Cityformer. He attempted to possess me, and failed. In only a couple of days time, he possessed the 2iC of the 'Cons, tricked Galvatron into an ambush on our part, made a pact with Unicron, disabled two Cityformers, and just generally caused one heck of a mess. It's unknown yet whether his situation was a result of the circumstances of his death or due to some unusual quality he possesses - I won't say 'unique,' because Starscream wasn't my first brush with the supernatural - but the possibility that he might be just as troublesome dead as alive needs to be kept in mind.
"One of the biggest problems we have to face is the fact that there's no one on the other side holding his reigns. Usually, his attempts to grab top spot of the 'Cons cause them as much, sometimes even more, trouble than they cause us. With him in charge of the Decepticons, he's got no one to scheme against but us. Might not hurt to keep an eye out for other power hungry 'Cons and 'subtly' suggest that they might make a better boss than the one they got. Starscream's arrogance and willing to sacrifice anyone around him often means he's not the most popular mech, and any strife we can stir up in their ranks can only benefit us."
Pictures of Starscream in both modes are included here, along with pretty much anything that can be found in his G1 tech spec such as top speed, etc.
