Home reality: Swerve
Pull-point timestamp: Unknown
Alternate form: Alien race car.
Known history and notes: Swerve's in the very small group of Autobots here who've never heard of Cybertron or the name Optimus Prime, but as his record on Velocitron shows, he does know a Megatron. From the sounds of things, if he had been yanked from just a few months before, he wouldn't even have heard of Autobots and Decepticons, and he'd even met another Autobot before arriving here. As his file says, the Decepticons had just arrived on his planet not long before he left. He pegged them for trouble, and while I'm not sure why he put on the 'Bot symbol, it was probably to piss them off.
So yeah. This means he just up and decided one day that if he wasn't going to be a Decepticon, he was going to be an Autobot, and had our symbol painted on our hood.
This brings up the question right away of whether he is really an Autobot. Now, I've already heard mention from some folks of some "Rite of the Autobrand," and obviously Swerve ain't been through anything like this. But let me tell you: anyone who thinks that you need to have had this "Rite" to be considered an Autobot is welcome to come and talk to me to my face about just how much an Autobot I'm not, because that Rite is not cross universal.
So. Is he an Autobot? Well, he's violent, rude, and short tempered in the extreme. If this means you're not an Autobot, you're directed to speak with Grimlock. And remember: we got the nice one.
He gets angry real easy, but what gets him angriest are, well... they seem to be the right things. He was right furious when Cannonball threatened Holi, and when, during the practice melee match, I joked about how maybe he ought to take a break and let Holi in the ring for all the good Swerve was doing, his answer was, "I've seen what you can do, and there's no way I'm letting Holi go up against you, training or not." Or something like that. Although he's not open, he's honest to the extent that it's almost absurd. He doesn't lie, but he expects everyone around him to lie. He's willing to step up and protect the weak, like Holi, but it comes as a shock to him when someone else is willing to do the same to him. He has helped around here, between the bomb search, repairs to Wedge, and whatever else, but can't seem to understand why someone else would be willing to help him. If he says he'll do something, he'll do it, but sometimes getting him to say is the trick. He also has a sense of fair play that he'll follow even when doesn't want to, but I'm not sure if anyone knows the rules for what he considers 'fair' but him. I do know that I was able to get his frequency by telling him mine before he could stop me. You'll notice it's not included in these files. Something burned that boy bad sometime before he got here, and I'm not about to make it worse. If an emergency comes up, I've got it, Xaaron's got it, and Perceptor's got it.
So, with all that temper and inability to trust and all those contradictions, is he an Autobot? It may be too early to call for sure, but my energon's on 'yes.'
Skills, abilities, talents: Fights reasonable well, but group combat's new to him. A professional racer of the violent varity - he calls it 'oilsport' racing, but it's pretty easy to figure out from the name we're talking something that's as much gladatorial combat as it is driving. He's also proven himself an excellent medic and general tech, and capable of working in suboptimal conditions with suboptimal and 'recycled' parts. Kind of like the sort of conditions and parts supply we've got here.
Weaknesses: Wretched temper. Has a hard time figuring out when it's smart to back down to begin with, and when he's spun up, won't back down even when he does figure it out. As with most folks, his fighting gets sloppier and stupider when he's spun up, and he's way too easy to spin up. Also, since he was built with racing in mind, not combat, his armor's pretty thin, too.
