Okay, this is an idea that hit me last night in the wee hours after doing a bunch of looking at stuff about the Legend of Michigan's Dogman. My original plan was to have some sort of Mysterious Native Gillanese Creature terrorizing Autobase at night. However, that would be tricky to do with a lot of characters and still pull off a nice creepy suspenseful air. So after some talk with Claw Jaw, we came to the conclusion that it'd be better to be a small group away from base. This led to deciding that it should totally happen aboard a dead Tidal Wave from the TF Armada game. For those of you who haven't played that boss battle, Tidal Wave is freakin' HUGE in that game. TF-scaled aircraft carrier that you spend the level before the boss battle running around inside him, killing Decepticlones. YouTube clip of Tidal Wave's transformation in-game. That little body that bails out a few seconds in is your character. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6uN87SPi9kSo, anyway, dead Tidal Wave makes for Instant Creepy Abandoned Facility which is perfect for being stalked by a homicidal creature. Speaking of, I think the creature in question would be based off of the Acklay from the Arena scene in Star Wars Episode II. This would be some variant, with maybe a more shell-like exoskeleton. Maybe acidic saliva/blood like the Xenomorphs from the Alien movies? I like that idea, but I'm open to other suggestions. Just not something sentient/sapient, as it'll probably wind up killed in the end. (Thus no super-sized Predators. Though if I wanted to go that route, I'd probably go for Death's Head instead.) Anyway! Discuss!

Whats so specifically bad about killing something sentient? Intelligence behind a killer is something that adds to terror.
Would we able to include Decepticons? Or are they too ready to just blow stuff up ?

Count me in. I may even have a monster idea for you, hit me up on AIM sometime about it. This is, of course, on the assumption that Tidal Wave isn't going to wake up afterward.

I really like that idea, and I like the idea of the creature looking something like the Acklay -- one of my favorite Star Wars monsters. Though if the beastie ends up changing, that's fine with me. Changing beastie... oooh, shape-shifting monster... And Bluestreak could be among the characters in the group. Doesn't every group of people stalked by a monster need the constantly chatty group member who everyone wants to just feed to the critter to get him to shut up?

The other thing about the Armada game Tidal Wave is that he is loaded with ships and Decepticlones. The reason you fight him is to actually stop said ships from going around the world and stealing minicons. So I guess the Decepticons could go in to try and loot all of the ships and Decepticlones from him to use as an army, only to find they're all dead/deactivated thanks to (Monster)

Updated first post with a YouTube clip of Tidal Wave transforming from the Armada game. Whats so specifically bad about killing something sentient? Intelligence behind a killer is something that adds to terror. Would we able to include Decepticons? Or are they too ready to just blow stuff up ? A couple of Decepticons might work, too. I still haven't worked out just where the best place for the body to land would be, though I'm leaning toward the Swamp. After DZ-3, Shrapnel might be back there. Don't know if he'd call for help, though. Guess the creature would need to be lightning-resistant, or very hostile upon being shocked. As for sapience, it depends on how we work with the critter. Non-sapient native things can be shoehorned in pretty easy. More intelligent stuff might actually require a plot character application. So it's laziness on my part right now. However, once we get going, things could change. Non-sapient things can be scary, too, though. Think of an acid-horking Acklay that stalks its prey like a big cat. Still scary! A couple of Decepticons would be good, especially if it causes an uneasy alliance. Count me in. I may even have a monster idea for you, hit me up on AIM sometime about it. This is, of course, on the assumption that Tidal Wave isn't going to wake up afterward. Will do, I like having options for creatures. Multiple ones might work too. As for Tidal Wave, the thing of him being dead makes it creepier. "...we're walking around inside a corpse." "Stop bringing it up!" "Sorry! It's kind of hard to avoid!" "*Scary creature noise!*" I really like that idea, and I like the idea of the creature looking something like the Acklay -- one of my favorite Star Wars monsters. Oooh, a shapeshifter might be fun, even moreso if it's a sapient one that starts messing with everyone's head. And yeah, Blue would be a good addition. The other thing about the Armada game Tidal Wave is that he is loaded with ships and Decepticlones. The reason you fight him is to actually stop said ships from going around the world and stealing minicons. So I guess the Decepticons could go in to try and loot all of the ships and Decepticlones from him to use as an army, only to find they're all dead/deactivated thanks to (Monster) Yeah, that'd be a good reason to drag them out there. They could still use the bodies, though. Remember who all they've got on their medical/science team.

You can count Eye-Fire in, assuming the Decepticons actually go there.

Dead End, if the Decepticons go. Someone has to be morbid and expecting the worst and have his warnings be ignored.
Skyfire might ferry people to and from, but he's not the type to go walking around in an aircraft carrier. He's too darn big.

Thinking back, I believe the hallways might have been big enough for someone like Skyfire to fit, but it wouldn't leave much room to maneuver.
Which is also basically why I'm not sending Long Range.

Here's a video just showing off the fight, and this shows Optimus running around inside Both videos are walkthroughs from a friend from another forum, and show off the two levels However, to my knowledge, all three characters in the game are roughly the same size, which I'm calling Deluxe scale, which is roughly give-or-take carbot size, so take a look at them to get a rough idea of how large inside him would be

I believe Hot Shot is a little smaller in-game than the other two, but as I only extensively used Prime, I'm not sure. Either way, we can fudge scale a little as necessary. We'll be fudging the maps pretty extensively anyway, I'm sure (because otherwise it's a fairly straightforward area), so why not?
