As the group enters the desert, Grimlock attempts to radio Rodimus (the real one) with news that he's brought Rodimus (the fake one), but it turns out the radio is full of static here. Stupid radio!
"Me Grimlock no care about stupid jets, they not in me Grimlock's wa--"
Then Slag has to go and stop. Grimlock pulls back, grabbing Slag's arm and pulling on it. "Dumb-dumb Slag no stop now! We no stop until we on ground!" Grimlock then goes forward, dragging Slag along whether he complies or not.

Skystrike snarls as he rushes through the air, pushing all the power he had in his form into his thrusters in the rush. Damn Duskwing and his tenacity to always end up in bad situations.
He spots six shapes— holy scrap is that Rodimus?!— on the radar, identifies three as seekers. The berkut snaps off a crisp //Duskwing?// over the shortwave.

Downed by friendly fire--How dare Skystrike! The only way you get shot by Starscream is if he wants you to be shot. Just ask Dead End.
Or, hey, like Slag, whose crude attempt gets the exact response he would have hoped for--Starscream changes vector and unleashes a very intentionally-aimed null-ray at Slag.
"Primitive tinker-creation!" He snaps at the Dinobot.

Duskwing-3 has found his canyons and is running for the shelter of the twisted rocks, kicking on his afterburners to get there faster.
// Skystrike? Dat's me youse shootin' at, knock it off! // he snaps back, not quite realizing that there's two Skystrikes back there.
// An' watch it, dat ain't our Starscream! // he hurriedly adds as he dives below the plateau and flies up a snaking canyon.
It got him out of line of fire unless his pursuers wanted to come down in the canyon with him, and out of easy radar line-of-sight, too. Not that canyon running didn't have its own hazards, like sudden, vicious updrafts and downdrafts, and surprise twists and turns--
Like the blind canyon Duskwing had just turned up. A sheer stone wall loomed abruptly in front of his nose--

Skystrike feels one of the blasts from Slag’s gun nick her tailfin and was about to go chasing after the Dinobot in a fit of vengeful, unreasonable anger— when Starscream goes right ahead and goes after the Dinobot himself. Feeling thoroughly perturbed at the sudden shift of moods, the berkut drops any pretences of chasing after the simpleminded brute and drags her concentration back to chasing Duskwing-3. Still simpleminded, but at this one has less armor.
She doesn’t chase Duskwing down the canyon; instead she chases after the brief glimpses of blue through the black crags. This way she could speed up with little need to worry about canyon walls shredding all her flight planes. Just wait for the moment to come when the idiot comes flying out of the canyon and right back into the sight of a few missiles.
Being uncharacteristically preoccupied with hunting the other seeker though, Skystrike didn’t notice the other blue jet in the sky just yet.

Rodimus had been a bit ahead of the jets, since he had been chasing Grimlock, who lead the pack (try not to think about the velocity differences too hard, m'kay?). By now, however, he's grown tired of the chase, and the chaotic game of tag.
Rodimus may be fully aware that Grimlock is leading him into a trap, but if that's to be the case, Rodimus decides, he'll enter it on his own terms.
Ignoring the others (who are, for the most part, firing at each other, anyway) Rodimus searches the desert floor for a string of silver in black that indicates a metal road heading more or less in the direction he wants it to go. He knows where Grimlock's heading, after all, and trap or no trap, if there's something of interest there, his alternate can't be given a free pass to it.
Once the road is found, he lowers altitude quickly. He's still fairly high up, however, when he suddenly transforms...
...and plummets right out of the thread.

Slag was going to laugh in the face of Starscream's attempt to shoot at him, but then Grimlock had to grab him. Slag turns around to try and punch the dinobot leader, all sembelance of actually caring about what is going on long since gone, when his arm is hit by Starscream's null ray.
"STUPID JET!" he roars as the arm goes numb, and then... He notices something. "Grimlock, why him fake Rodimoose fall?" he says, quizzically, attention distracted from the jets for a brief period of time

"Me Grimlock no know...but me think we need follow him. Radio no working, so we need to make as much noise as can on way to trap so trappy 'bots know we coming."
And by noise, Grimlock means unloading weapons fire on Rodimus. He proves this point by pulling out his rocket launcher, then elbowing Slag. "Me Grimlock say come on, him just Starscream. Him not stupid enough to take on both of us."
With that, Grimlock takes off in Rodimus-3's direction. ---------- OOC: Out of thread, moving to CRASH.

//I am not shooting at you, you bumbling ingrate!// He clears the clouds, vapor trails hissing across the tips of his wings. //I’m here to rescue your sorry posterior— again!// Duskwing-3 had just vanished off the radar thanks to the canyon but—
Crud it was strange to see himself without a mirror nearby. On the bright side, the other Starscream was off chasing after the Dinobots and Evil Rodimus Prime, wherever it was they’d gone off to, so that left only one person to shoot at.
Skystrike pours laser down on the familiar blue form without another second’s hesitance.

"You already called me that." The gray F-15 retorts. "I know you backwater neanderthals had a limited vocabulary but I didn't realize it was this bad!"
One good null ray deserves another. This time Starscream aims for a leg.

Duskwing-3's current problem is a very hard canyon face that he's coming up on fast. He does the obvious; he pulls up, hard, and ignites his afterburners. The dark blue and purple zooms straight up, his engine exhaust a streak of flame as long as he is. He just barely clears the unforgiving rock-- And zooms into Skystrike's sights... --- OOC: About time we split this up. Cross-posted to a new thread: Between: Into the Wild Blue

The sensation of getting holes poked into her wings was an unpleasant wakeup call. The strange haze of anger suddenly faded away, the crisp pain jolting her systems. Her first instinct was to immediately roll away, out of the line of fire, but then Duskwing-3 flies out of the canyon and right into the planned path of her missiles—
//Duskwing! Missiles!// Skystrike-3 warns the other blue flier, shifting his aim to the twin projectiles speeding in his friend’s direction and firing frantically in an attempt to stop them.
Skystrike meanwhile, cuts back her speed. The missiles were poorly aimed but hopefully Duskwing-3 would be too much of an idiot to dodge them. It got her reflection off her back anyhow, allowing her to take a split second check her diagnostics and make sure nothing important was leaking before rejoining the fight. As she'd predicted, it was like fighting Autobots really—just shoot at their friends and they’d go into hero mode and try to rescue them. How terribly strange.
//Starscream, sir?// She snaps off the warning on the radio, speeding up again and taking aim at Skystrike-3. //The other me has arrived.//

Slag angrily snorts at Grimlock, but then he sees an oppertunity for chaos. With Rodimus-3 on the ground, this means he can bring his best weapons to bare...
So Slag transforms.
In mid-air.
If anyone wanted to see what a falling triceratops looked like, then, well, now's there chance, as Slag falls towards the ground, intent on smashing something, and leaving the null ray blast to fly past where he used to be.
OOC: Sorry about how long that took, wasn't in much of an RPing mood. But Slag's falling out of the topic now anyway

Slag departs, and Starscream scowls. He's not chasing him on the ground--the Dinobots have an advantage there. Besides, let them soften up Rodimus. He's decided to let the blue jets bicker amongst themselves as he changes vector to find another target.
OOC: Out of thread.
