[glow=red,2,300] CRASH!!! [/glow] The massive, multiton form of Rodimus Prime's retro-futuristic alternate mode lands heavily on one of Gillanan's silver roads, shattering the metal beneath his tires. It's a wonder the tires themselves survive - must not be normal rubber. Still, the Prime hisses in pain upon impact, despite the stunt being his own choice. Then, he stills, letting dust and rubble settle around him. After a moment, his engine starts, and he moves from shattered street to working road. He activates his radio, and then he picks up speed.

Rodimus Prime rolls down the road, now at his top speed, as he thunders towards his destination.
The road beneath, metal vibrating from his rubber tiles, begins to weep in fear.

Rodimus Prime notes a landing far ahead of him, as a familiar white shuttle comes in for a landing. From here, it's little more than a spot, but that spot means at least one thing:
Getting closer.

Grimlock, like Rodimus-3, hates to be ignored.
However, this time, Grimlock is being smart about attacking the fake Prime. From a few hundred feet back, he fires off several shots from his stunner lasers, and a pair of rockets at the Winnebago.
Hopefully, the ruckus he causes will get the attention of Autobots in the area. Kinda like Paul Revere, except with giant robots.

Laser blasts score the flaming Winnebago of doom's topside, leaving ugly black marks but doing little real damage to the thick hide. The rockets, however, are another matter, and while, thanks to some fancy driving, neither hit him dead-on, the near-misses are enough to heavily rock the vehicle, at one point bringing it close to toppling.
Well, enough of that.
Rodimus Prime transforms and skids to a halt. As he does his trailer, rather than vanishing, flips over, landing top-side down to reveal his assault battery.
By "assault battery," we mean "one gun emplacement."
By "one gun emplacement," we mean, "one firking large gun emplacement."
The Prime lifts his head towards Grimlock, hate-filled gaze smoldering in a mask of anger, but he says nothing, he does nothing.
His wagon's gun, however, lifts its angle and fires.

Whaaaaa?
Rodimus can split in two voluntarily? Grimlock's doesn't remember that... Or did he do that when he landed on his back in the last fight? Little hard to recall, but no time to dwell on whether his memories exist - there's a big freakin' gun pointing at him, and it's firing on him.
Grimlock attempts to drop, but the blast from the photon eliminator hits one of his 'wing' panels, throwing off his balance and changing his fall out of the air. He drops his rocket launcher and crashes down on the desert below big spray of black sand. Electricity crackles over Grimlock's body for a bit, even later as he stands back up. "Me Grimlock say gun have plenty bark, but not any bite." This is a bit of a bluff, as the wound is throbbing, and it'll leave his chest open, should he transform any time soon.
Okay. Slight problem. Radios are borked. Fake Rodimus started running. Grimlock attempted to rain explosives on him to get other Autobots' attention as they entered the desert. This caused Fake Rodimus to stop and fire on him. Can't call Real Rodimus for help. Can't get suggestions on what to do from Kup. Slag's taking his time in showing up.
"Rrrrgh! Me Grimlock hate having use tactics!" he roars, grabbing a large chunk of road from a previous rocket's explosion, and hurling it in Rodimus-3's general direction, then taking off toward the crater area once more.
Back to being bait...

The Demon Prime leaps swiftly backwards, avoiding the haphazardly thrown rock. He laughs.
"You may want to decide whether you'd rather play distraction or bait and stick to it," he shouts, taunting. "However, it does me no good to have you still active by the time I reach that crater."
With that, Rodimus fires his wagon canons once more, this time lifting his arms to fire electroblasts from his pipes at the same time, looking to down the Dinobot.

Grimlock manages to avoid the blast from the wagon cannon, but takes a few electroblasts, but nothing that he can't ignore as he takes off.
"Me Grimlock say Fake Rodimus have to catch me Grimlock before him take me Grimlock down!"

Rodimus Prime snorts, transforms, and begins rolling ahead, putting on his best speed - which is a bit better than Grimlock's in the air. As he rolls underneath he shouts, "You seem to be overlooking the fact that you do your best work up close and personal - but I've had enough of wasting time on you when I can just beat you to my destination. You're small fry, Grimlock - not even worth bothering with any more."
And with that, he pulls ahead. Vrooom!

Grimlock growls as Fake Rodimus pulls on past him. This isn't good.
For one, Fake Rodimus got in the last verbal jab.
For two, Fake Rodimus is gonna get away.
For three, no one calls Grimlock small fry, fraggit.
Grimlock aims at the road ahead, firing lasers from his fists to try and break up a section of road. Sadly, this only manages to dent the road, not blow it apart as he hoped. Ah well. Dinobots are better at smashing anyway!
Grimlock boosts a bit, and drops on the road with a crunch, cracking the metal up to a suitable level, though at the cost of some slight pain in his body. Nothing he can't ignore, though. Stepping back, the Dinobot hefts a large slab of road over his head, and takes off again, fast as he can, and going high before heaving the slab in Fake Rodimus' direction.
If the momentum can even carry the metal chunk far enough, it's probably not gonna hit the Prime. Dinobots aren't known for their accuracy, after all.

Oh, the metal chunk makes it far enough - Dinobots are pretty darned strong, after all. However, the expectation that it wouldn't hit the Prime proves accurate. After rolling and bouncing through the various dents caused by Grimlock's laser, the Prime breaks, skids, and is forced to swerve around the metal chunk suddenly appearing in the road before him. He pulls away, moving around it, and gaining speed once more...
...But Grimlock may well now have an idea of at least one way to slow him down.

Grimlock may have an idea, but a certain other dinobot doesn't. And Slag just happens to be dropping in on the action!
Literately.
Not caring for his predicament, the triceratops instead aims his head towards Rodimus and lets loose a breath of fire in his rough direction, intent on incinerating the impostor and everything around him. In fact, Slag is so obsessed with trying to destroy him, that he doesn't notice gravity until it is too late and he crashes into the the ground, stunning the massive triceratops and cutting off his powerful flamethrower while he gathers himself.

For the moment, Grimlock lets Rodimus pull away while he drops down to see to Slag.
"Me Grimlock say Slag take sweet time getting here!" Grimlock hits the ground with a thud, pointing off in Rodimus' direction. "Fake Rodimus tricky. We need way to get talking to Real Rodimus, radios no work, so he not know how close Fake Rodimus is." Grimlock then punches his palm. "Me try shooting at him with rockets to slow him down and make noise, but him turn around and shoot back and make me Grimlock lose launcher. So now me going around and throwing chunks of road at him, that seem to slow him down a little..."

Rodimus Prime-3 had already been ahead of Slag when the Dinobot came crashing down. His fires lick at the end of Prime's trailer, charring paint and warping hastily made repairs, but it doesn't succeed in slowing the Prime down. He pulls further ahead still as Grimlock goes to speak to his fellow Dinobot...
...and he keeps driving, eventually pulling near to the base of the crater itself. "At /last/!" Rodimus exclaims.
