"Once I am done examining the technology, most likely," Shockwave says, slightly distracted, "It's origins make it, by default, suspect in most every reality set. Just because you have no qualms does not mean others would not."
Shockwave looks at Swindle then and cautions, "I would recommend taking care in discussing the Quintessons in mixed company."
It is just a simple scraping, and really Swindle probably feels less than a pinch, unless the drawer sensors are extremely sensitive.
He stores the sample, then taps his fingers against the table, deep in thought. So many possibilities from this point....

The sampling is indeed not painful. Swindle sticks his hand back into his drawer to make sure it still works, and is reassured when the portal activates. He then withdraws his hand again and stares up at the ceiling. Much as he would love to be elsewhere, Swindle knows better than to ask if they're done.

Shockwave is distracted, something that does not happen often. In this case, he is entirely too taken by the possibilities inherent in harnessing this technology, technology that Swindle seems to take entirely too much for granted.
At length, Shockwave checks the data he has collected. Given the delicate nature of transwarp drives, he decides to be cautious.
"We are not done, Swindle," Shockwave says, "but I wish to study the data a bit more before continuing. You are dismissed for now. However, the next time I call, I suggest you answer."
Shockwave unplugs his datapad from Swindle.
"By the way, have you met Screwdriver, yet?"

Is Shockwave reading his processor? Swindle hopes not. He gives the big gunformer a weak smile as he closes his drawer and hefts himself up off the table. "Right you are, sir. I'll be sure to do that. Screwdriver's our Junkion, right? I only know of her by reputation."

Reading Swindle's mind? No. Able to read people and draw correct and logical conclusions about what they are thinking? Yes.
"She is indeed a Junkion," Shockwave says as he sits down to review his data, "She appears to be patterned on human children and their fairy tales. She is a toymaker."
He does not look as he adds, "She wishes to go planetside and display her wares. You will assist her with that, and make sure she does not damage our reputation. You have enough space next to your own merchant booth to do so."

Shockwave is setting Swindle up with a new business? Good deal!
"So I'm Junkion-sitting? I'll have to brush up on my fairy-tales, I suppose. Speaking of the booth, business has been booming. I've actually expanded from the booth to a storefront. I'm thinking of opening a franchise, actually."

"As you like," Shockwave says, waving his hand, "Just keep her occupied and do not let her dismember her customers."
"Also, the tracker you slipped the Autobot Prowl has been transferred to Duskwing. You may want to retrieve it."
"Dismissed."

"Not even if they're deadbeats? Ahem. I don't suppose you have a wish list of things to purchase, as long as we've got the money?" It's not that Swindle wants to have to spend money for The Cause, it's just that Shockwave thinks the money belongs to him anyway, so Swindle may as well get it over with.
The con-bot shrugs. "Well, I tried. I'll collect the tracer off Duskwing when I see him." He shoots Shockwave a half-afted salute and makes to leave.
