Mirage laughs lightly once his treat is swallowed, the reaches out to just stroke his fingers along Rodimus's cheek.
"We don't have to stay here any longer if you're uncomfortable," he says softly, "I would like to get a view of the other floors available to us, and to get a more accurate idea of what might be required to gain access to those that are not."
He smirks as he adds, "That is, if I have not completely ruined any chances of you simply being able to enjoy my company?" His voice is light, but if Rodimus is paying attention the Prime might notice that there is something...not as self-assured as normal in Mirage's tone.

Rodimus Prime doesn't draw away as his cheek is stroked, but his smile gains a bit of an uncertain edge. When Mirage asks his question, though, he snorts. "Naw, I'm good."
Like he'd admit to being too uncomfortable to stay, anyway.
His smile, however, widens. "So that means we're going to check out the dance floors, right?" he asks hopefully. Then he looks a little embarrassed. "Not that I'm trying to get away from you or anything. I just like dancing!"

Mirage laughs, "Yes, we will check out the dance floor below. I wouldn't think of denying you something you so obviously enjoy- or denying myself the pleasure of watching you in motion."
"However," his tone turns teasing, "we're going up first, as I want to see the art gallery. If I have to suffer through that grinding noise they had playing below, you can suffer through a a little high culture."
"Plus, it's the floor directly below the VIP floor," he adds softly, "If we can't persuade our way in through looks and station- a time-honored tradition of the clubbing scene- then I'll need...alternate routes when I return."
Mirage slides out of the booth and offers his hand to Rodimus. As he does so, he tilts his head back toward the remaining sweets. "If you want, feel free to take some with you. I'm done with them for now."

Rodimus accepts Mirage's hand up, a faint grin settled on his lips. "So high culture is being a bit literal here, huh?" he asks as he stands. He looks back down at the candies for a moment, then glances at Mirage. "Are we going to be back by here? If we are..." he shrugs. "I mean, they're good, but I think I've had enough for awhile."

Mirage shakes his head at Rodimus's question, "Probably not, actually. I doubt we'll be able to get a table again." As he talks, he leads Rodimus back toward the entry room, and the elevator. He does stop a passing waiter on the way, however, with a few requests. One, to pack up a sample box of the sweets, plus any similar that the waiter recommends, for them to pick up later, and two, to instruct the waiter that the two ladies checks be billed to his account. He also asks for directions to the gallery- even though he already knows where it is.
Mirage knows how to play the game, and even though the ladies attentions might bother Rodimus slightly, Mirage can't afford to waste a possible contact with connections.
He smiles up at Rodimus as they get in the elevator. "Tell me love, what is your idea of beauty, of perfection, of artistry? I am always curious to hear another's opinion on the subject."

Rodimus makes sure to grab a few more of the sweets, then, if they're not going to be back at the table, and then he lets himself be led off.
Mirage's question, however, has him widening his optics and looking very much like a deerbot caught in the headlights. "I... uhm... I like outsides, actually. Cybertron, Earth, Nebulos..." he shrugs. "Openness and buildings. They're good for different reasons." He rubs the back of his head. "And people. I'm more interested in people art... I mean, people that are art... and art that gets lived in and art that gets used then, well, stuff that just sits there." He shrugs.

When Rodimus gets that spooked look, Mirage tries to give him a reassuring squeeze. He then smiles and laughs lightly at the response that tumbles out of the Prime.
"Oh my dear, you have no idea how utterly charming you can be, do you?" Mirage says, still chuckling softly, "I'm not surprised you enjoy the functional over the stagnant, but your comment about outsides- you find things like parks to be beautiful, or do you prefer the wilds?"
Mirage doesn't know of the Prime's penchant for fishing!

"Sure I know I'm charming!" Rodimus answers, smirking and leaning against the wall of the elevator. Then he looks faintly confused. "I just... didn't know I was charming there."
He tilts his head to consider Mirage's question. "Well... yes, and yes. I find things like parks to be nice, and hey, they're closer to cities," it's obvious that Rodimus does love his cities still, "but I prefer the wilds. To parks, I mean."

Mirage gives Rodimus's body (yet another) appreciative look over as the Prime leans against the wall. The look shifts to serious rather suddenly, though.
"Too charming by half, and even more attractive than that," he muses, partially to himself, "Truthfully, I think the danger to me lies more in you then in the machinations of others."
Such a comment is likely to call the attention of one of Rodimus's inner demons, so similar- if much more flowery- it is to a certain hunter's protests.
The elevator comes to a gentle stop, the doors sliding open with a soft ding. Most of the art in the gallery is similar to art deco, though there are some examples of more modern abstract and of some impressionist stylings.

Rodimus looks more than a little startled at the sudden shift in mood, and the words leave him bewildered. It is far too similar... but what could Rodimus himself have done to have drawn out a comment like that from this Mirage?
"What- what do you mean by that?" he asks as he heads out into the gallery, clearly unnerved by the comment. There's more distance in his expression and his tone now, however, as one of his mental 'roommates' has suddenly grown a bit noisier.

Mirage follows Rodimus out and paces him, tries to slide an arm around Rodimus's waist and give him a squeeze as they walk.
"Don't trouble yourself over it, love, just a bit of idle musing."
He pauses in front of metal sculpture. It's one of the more abstract pieces in the room, and at first looks like poured metal. A closer inspection will show the shapes of fingers and hands on the bronze, however. Obviously a case of suffering for your art, and that no matter how good your gloves.
He tries to lean his head against Rodimus's shoulder, and sighs, "But you have been quite open with me tonight; I can be no less with you. I must simply hope it doesn't turn you from me completely."
"I am not a monogamous individual, Rodimus. I take lovers easily, and often, but contrary to the beliefs of some I am quite discerning in my tastes." His lips quirk, "But I also love quite easily, as well, and there's not been a mech come to my berth that I've forgotten, or that I haven't loved in some little way, though there are some for whom my spark aches more than others."
"Love can be both a weakness and a strength, depending on context, and while I disagree with your own motivations, I will agree with that point."
Behind them the elevator dings.

Rodimus manages a smile, though it's strained. He allows Mirage's arm around his waist, and lets his own arm fall naturally on Mirage's back, nor does he pull away away as the other leans against his shoulder.
"I... understand," Rodimus says. Hot Rod has had his share of casual engagements, but when it comes right down to it, his tendancy to form long term attachments is very strong indeed.
"I won't... look, I've got no intention of turning away completely, but that... well. There's something I've got to think about." He looks over at the metal sculpture and frowns and tilts his head, then he shakes it and, changing subjects, proclaims, "I don't get it."
Prime doesn't make any attempt to hide his glance towards the elevator as it dings. That's the natural response, after all. It makes no sense to stand there pretending to ignore that when any normal person looks up when a door is opened.

Mirage has a tendency to form long-term attachments as well, hence why he thinks Rodimus could pose such a danger to him. It simply isn't in Mirage to be monogamous, but that doesn't mean he doesn't form deep and lasting attachments. Too often, he's been wounded because a partner can't handle one or the other of of his foibles.
He is thinking that Rodimus Prime might be worth risking that pain, but given how Rodimus has reacted tonight, well...perhaps it would be better to let such thoughts go, better for both of them.
So Mirage says nothing as he leans against Rodimus, merely nodding when the Prime says he must think on things. He is about to comment on the sculpture when the door dings, and while he doesn't turn his head, it is obvious he is listening.
Through the door walks the two girls from below. They aren't giggling and blushing now, however, though they are smirking as the walk arm-in-arm toward Rodimus and Mirage. As they get closer, the resemblance between the two becomes strikingly apparent. Not twins, really, but too similar for sisters. They are slightly shorter then Mirage, thin and lithe, with the looks and muscles of a dancer.
"Pretty, for metals,-," starts the one on the left
"-quite pretty, and you-," picks up the girl on the right
"-play the game well," the girl on the left finishes.
The eerie thing is that their voices are identical.

Rodimus turns towards Mirage, perhaps a bit glad for the distraction. The behavior and the speech of the girls, however, has him re-evaluating that.
Still, he manages a smile.
"Oh, hi. Uhm, thanks for the treats. They were really good!"
He's on edge - those girls are kind of creepy, after all. However, they're right about something - he plays the game well.

Mirage turns with Rodimus, also giving the ladies a smile. "Yes, they were most appreciated, as was your most generous gesture."
"A gesture which-"
"-you negated so neatly-"
"-by covering our check. Did you think we wouldn't-"
"-notice?"
The girl on the right flips her hair and laughs, "No matter. You are pretty, pretty metals-"
"- and we would be such the envy of our friends upstairs if we could-"
"-show you off. There's no one quite like-"
"-you two on the VIP roles."
Both girls step closer, movements perfectly matched, the girl on the left trying to place a hand on Mirage's arm, the one on the right doing the same to Rodimus.
"We don't want you, mind. We are royalty-"
"-and you are not. But you are pretty and unique, and-"
"-would make such the lovely prize."
