Singe continues to say nothing and just crowd-watch and check out the building. He hasn't said anything so far, so why start now? It's not like Kup's story explains why he's here or what he's doing.
Spinister considers his options. He could just go outside and fly up to the twelfth floor, but that would likely mean breaking a window, and breaking a window is far more noisy and attention-getting than he wants. Spinister could take the stairs, but he'd have to wait for someone to open the stairs door first. He could try to climb through air vents, but he doesn't know the layout here.
So he acts like sane person and wanders over to the elevator. Yes, he'll have to wait until an elevator opens that has enough free space in it that he can sneak in without bonking into anyone, but the good thing is, he doesn't need an elevator going to his floor.
He can just pop the top hatch and climb into the shaft as soon as there's no one to see him not being there.
Or just press the button and make it look like someone accidentally bonked that button. That would work, too.

The teen gives Kup a sympathetic look. "Mrrr, I'm sorry. Some people don't understand the importance of family bonds. People, mrrr-" His tail twitches, "people go missing in this city too easily."
"I can get a counselor if you want," he holds up his paw, the one with the red band, "I'm, mrrr, not long from the street myself. Just...trying to pay back, a little."
He looks down at Singe, "What about you, friend? We don't...we don't get folks small as you often. They, mrrrr, don't last on the streets here."
Angels of Entropy
The elevators are busy, but roomy. Of course, if Spinister wants that little bit of extra room, he might follow the orderlies wheeling a guy in a bed to the staff elevators. They're designed to fit gurneys and people comfortably.
Of course, that means he has to go past some hospital security, as well as a couple of cops filling out paperwork by the vending machines.

"Yeah," Kup answers weakly, lifting his right hand to rub his left upper-arm. "I'd appreciate that, yeah."
He tilts his head, vaugely curious in a dull sort of way. "Paying back? That... that's good of you."

They probably don't go nuclear if you kill them, either.
Singe looks up at the teen blankly for a moment, like he realises that he's been addressed but he doesn't know what's been said. Then, he looks up at Kup, and in crisp Vosian Revival, he explains, "Look, if he asks, just tell him I don't speak the language here. Figure it's better if he's not worrying about what I'm up to, and it'll give you an excuse to 'translate' things for me whenever you want to make an aside. You can tell him I'm a pet or a servant or a slagging larval stage for all I care."
Staff elevator, oh yes! Spinister is all over that. He glances over at the cops and their paperwork curiously, but then, he's glancing about pretty much constantly - being bumped into from behind is so not on his agenda, no.
But if he can just get into that elevator and 'accidentally' bump a button... he should be in good shape to go.

The teen shrugs, "It's the right thing to do."
He notices how the little guy doesn't seem to be following the conversation and frowns, "Mrrr, the clinic has people who speak a lot of languages. You need me to get an interpreter for your friend? I can get one when I go to get you a counselor."
He gestures at the food line. "Grab a plate, if you're hungry. Someone'll be back with you in a, mrrrr, minute."
He waits only long enough to see if they do need that interpreter before walking off to the back.
Angels of Entropy
The cops seem to each be filling out their own incident reports, one for a D.O.A, and one for justifiable force. They're being slow about it, and keep joking back and forth.
Their scanners come on, screeching at the proximity before one of them quickly turns his down. The calls almost over by then, though Spinster might catch the tail end of an address.
....-45, Rue 18, Calix.
It's not that far from Kup's location, if Spinister runs it through his maps.
There's plenty of room in the elevator, and the orderlies who are paying more attention to their own conversation than the keypad. Though after a few seconds one looks up complains about how the other fat-fingered the buttons. They wanted floor sixteen; floor twelve was the button above that. Good thing the patient isn't a crit.

"Well, I can interpret for 'im, if you like," Kup offers, "but if you can find someone else who speaks his language, might be useful so he's not just relying on me."
He looks down at Singe and explains in Vosian Revival, "If they can dig up someone else that speaks fraggin' Cybertronian dialects, I wanna know about it." His tone contradicts his words, and he gives the impression that he's just explaining what the teen had said.
Then he looks back up at the teen and gives the other a weak, grateful smile. "T-thank you," he stammers out before ambling towards the food.

Singe smiles beatifically, under his helmet, because you know what? He'd certainly like to meet that interpreter, too. He gives the teen an uncertain wave and then follows along after Kup.
Spinister considers that. It's not far from Kup's address, but it could just be coincidental. Singe will be on the alert. That should be enough. No need to have Singe verbally warn Kup.
Once he does get to his floor, though, he /will/ be looking for air vents and the one nearest to K'ire's room. The air vents on a floor should, logically, connect to each other, and those will let him get a view of her room without taking the door and give him a chance to decloak.

The food in the line is pretty decent quality for shelter food, and there is a wide variety available, likely so that they can accommodate the varied dietary needs of the homeless. Kup will have his choice of six different fuel blends, ranging from a thick and heavy oil to an almost transparent alcohol blend. There's also some solid fuel tidbits. Singe has more variety, if he chooses to doff the helmet and eat, but again just basics, nothing fancy. Several of the servers are wearing the same red band on their wrist as the feline teen, but a few aren't and there's also a avian gentlemen with priests collars that seem to be overseeing the line.
Once the duo get their food and either sit or choose to stand, a short, dwarfish woman makes her way over to them. Her beard is as long as her hair, and both are intricately braided and obviously well kept. She's not too terribly much taller than Singe, really, and not quite as tall as Holi, but she's broad of shoulder and muscled. Anyone trying to harass this "small" would have a hard time of it. The smile in her blue eyes matches the smile beneath her whiskers.
"Now, now, hallos to ye both! Tommy tells me you'd like to bend me ear a bit, and not surprisin' given what he says happened to ye. Say's ye be needin a word dancer too, and I'm the onliest one on right now. Don't quite know 'em all, but I do me best!"
Regardless of if Kup and Singe are sitting or not, the woman pulls a full-sized chair over and climbs easily into it.
"There. That be better. I hates neck cricks. Now, my name be Sawain, what should I call you lots, and what language to you prefer?"
Angels of Entropy
A short distance from the elevator door is a supply alcove, and in the wall of that alcove is an air vent. There's no door to hide the attempt, but right now the floor isn't too busy, and if Spinster wants to try to slip into the systems there, he could probably make it.
Though he might want to do something about the security camera in the alcove first.
Barring that, the room next to K'ire's room is in the process of being cleaned by janitorial staff. They're idly musing on how long it will take to fill the room now that its previous occupant no long needs it. There also seems to be some talk of a betting pool along the same lines.
A uniformed cop is sitting in a chair outside of K'ire's room. He's tilted the chair back so that he can half-recline. He looks terribly bored and not very attentive.

Kup rubs the back of his head with his right hand. He is sitting down, actually, and has a small cup of the lightest available fuel in his other hand. Then his right hand joins that one ans he looks faintly embarrassed. "I, uhm, I think it's just called 'the language' by the native speakers, y'know?" Should sound reasonable enough. Many people's name for themselves roughly translates into, 'the people.' Many species name for their world boils down to 'the world.'
"It's, erm..." and then Kup switches to Vosian Revival and says, "<the language>."
Kup lowers his gaze to look into his drink. "And... uhm.... thank you for this, by the way."
OOC: I don't normally do this, but because Kup is apt to be switching back and forth between Galstandard and Vosian Revival a lot in this thread, I'm going to indicate the Vosian Revival with <brackets>

Singe is rather leery about getting any food or taking off his helmet. On the other hand... humans look just like his race of Nebulans. There could be more species that look like them. So the helmet isn't so much the issue as...
...all the dead had this food in their stomachs. That's sort of playing with... fire. Hrn. Singe takes a small plate of whatever the least-bland-looking food there is that he reckons is acceptable for his digestive systems. He climbs up atop a chair and pokes at his food, a bit listlessly. Singe looks over at Kup and inquires, "<The language?>"
Spinister sorely wants to just decloak behind that cop and scare the living daylights out of him. Unfortunately, there are security cameras that would see him decloaking. If Spinister wants to mainline some fear, he'll just have to take Misfire shopping instead.
The alcove also has a camera, and tinkering with cameras is just going to attract attention.
So he slips into the open room, trying to avoid stepping in any wet spots on the floor. Once the janitorial staff is out, he'll try to figure out if there are any cameras, their field of view, and find a blind spot, if he has to, to get up into the ceiling, where he can decloak and go take a peek over at K'ire's room.
Spinister wonders if he should put some clothes back on, but he's a bit fretting that his badge is some sort of tracking device. Eh. K'ire's been shot today, twice. Seeing a naked robot won't make things any worse.

Sawain doesn't look surprised by the language being called the language, because well, in a lot of cultures that really is what it boils down to. She does frown at the language itself, however.
"Welp, that's odd. I'm not sure I've heard that one, and I know most all the majors and a good bit of the minors. It's a hobby, ye see, and I like to travel. Not that anyone can know all the words there be, eh, boys?" She laughs, a deep booming sound, "But I do try to collect as best I can. Mayhap we can trade later, if there be some you boys want to learn."
Her face softens, "I am sorry though. I do know it helps to hear the familiar tongues when the world's done fallen down on ye." Sawain looks down at Singe then back at Kup, "If there be any other one he knows, I'll be happy to switch ta it."
"So. What did ye want to talk about, boys?"
Angels of Entropy
The staff finishes up fairly quickly, and Spinister won't have much of an issue with the air vent, so long as he's careful and quiet.
K'ire's room is single-occupancy, and looks pretty standard. There isn't a camera in the room, but the girl is hooked up to quite a few monitors. She's alone in the room.
K'ire herself looks rather pale, even for a reptile, her skin duller than even a molting would indicate, though her skin is drawn almost too tight, as if that mentioned molting isn't too far off. She's hooked up to an IV drip, and at set intervals a liquid is added to the drip via another machine. It could be a sedative cum pain reliever.
She looks like she's in entirely too much pain for that to be the case, however, even as she tries to rest. Her eyelids twitch in her half-sleep, and her tongue flicks out occasionally, scenting the air.

Kup nods at Sawain. "I'll... I'll let 'im know." He looks down at Singe and says, "<Yeah yeah yeah, I know, that's not the real name. But names don't always get translated, sos I was worried about that being a gimmie.>"
He doesn't actually translate what Sawain said. Singe heard her well enough.
At Sawain's question, Kup sighs. "I just... I dunno, I'm stumped. Seems like on this world, people go missing, nobody cares. You start askin' around, everyone pretends not to hear you. Or they threaten you." Kup shakes his head. "Din't know where else to turn. Cops were no help, s'pecially now that I'm a 'vagrant.'"

Singe just shakes his head in reply to Kup. He pokes at his food. C'mon, man up and eat it, Singe. What's a little bad luck? He's binary bonded to the fragging bogeyman, anyway!
Spinister is usually careful and quiet. He is now.
He drops down and perches on K'ire headboard, reaching down to lay a finger across her mouth to shush her. She's organic and in a bad way, and he hasn't the foggiest what to do with her. Rescue her from the hospital? Can she even be moved? Where would he take her? Spinister looks over at the drip, glaring. Is that important? Is it poison? Can he just throw it away?
If only he'd thought this through a little more clearly.
But hey, have a naked robot, K'ire. Sorry, he didn't pop out of a cake.

"Ach now, we aren't so bad as that on Pz-Zazz, dearie," Sawain says, reaching out to try and pat Kup's arm in a motherly fashion, "Leastwise, wasn't always so bad, from what I hear. Ye got ta look, but there be some real gold amongst the fools."
"Ye found some here."
She unhooks a small flask from her belt and takes a swig. Her eyes twinkle as she puts the top back on, "Now don't ye be thinking I'm imbibin' on shift. Me body chemistry's wonky, and me meds be dissolved in here."
"Now, why don't ye tell me your story, and what I should call ye both, for that matter."
Angels of Entropy
K'ire's eyes open wide as the bed trembles and a black finger is placed against her lips. Her pupils are over-dilated, and her eyes seem not able to focus fully, but there's the briefest flash of recognition- and fear- in them. She tries to pull the thin sheet a bit higher on her body; those thin hospital gowns only cover so much. Sure she's worn more revealing costumes, but the context here is a bit different. The effort is obviously painful and exhausting. Moving her may not be the best option.
But then again, leaving her may be worse.
She closes her eyes again, tightly, and her hand clenches into a fist as she tilts her head just a bit to the right. A few labored breathes and she opens her eyes again, cutting them up to Spinster and then back in the direction her head is tilting.
In that direction is a small side table, upon which is a notepad and pen.
There's also a wireless clock/radio combination.

Kup offers Sawain a lopsided (if weak) grin. "Hey, I'm in no position to judge," he tells her, then he hesitates, as though dredging up unpleasant memories.
"Anyway, name's Teaspoon. I'm... well, I was the chief dishwasher on board the No Cash on Deposit." If Sawain or someone else checks, there really was a recently departed ship from one of the stations with that name. "This is Saucer, my assistant." Hey, a chief dishwasher needs assistants, right? "My sister's name is Teakettle. Just came down to, you know, explore. See what the place is about." Then he shakes his head. "When she didn't report back, that's when I started to worry."
Singe is probably going to be pissed at the new name, but Kup couldn't really care less.
