Inanna quirks a brow at the boyfriend mention. Kinky. Part of her kinda wants to watch. But she's a professional, and so doesn't say anything.
"The withdrawal itself? Well. I don't know. Like I said, I don't know anyone who's gone through one who wasn't on the stepdown meds."
"But don't think you can forget about it if you make it through the withdrawal. Coming off the high doesn't stop the entropic properties."
She goes back to fussing over K'ire, "Also to answer your earlier question- you'll get a faster boost if you inject it into a primary fuel line, but pretty much any liquid flow line will do. It isn't a topical like whatever you were hit with." The vials are still sitting there is Spinister wants them.
Inanna looks up at Spinister's last question, frowning, "Most of the network. Working with the street folk like we do, we run into a lot of people that...can't be public for whatever reason. It isn't always staffed, this location, but I'm here on a rolling schedule at least once a week."

Spinister's head jerks around, and he tosses his hands in the air, blurting, "How do you get off this and not die!?"
Why won't this woman get to the point!?
Scowling facelessly, he snatches up the vials, holds them up to the light, and pockets them. He wonders if maybe Mixmaster or Oil Slick would like to look at this stuff and if he ought to save a vial for them.
"Who knows the schedule?"

Inanna looks up, and she looks annoyed.
"You, yourself, have claimed to be in too much of a hurry for it! It's a multi-stage process that requires careful monitoring and a series of stepdown medications that are highly, highly regulated. It averages between three weeks to three months, depending on the level of addiction and the person's body chemistry."
She shakes her head, "Look- when you get done with...whatever this is, call me." She tries to hand him a card. "I can do the treatments in your home or whatever, and I'm discreet. I just need forty-eight hours notice to get the supplies, and you need to have a clear schedule. You won't be completely incapacitated during the recovery, but you won't be able to run about saving girls from evil doctors either. Catching it quick, and if you can avoid more hits...it should be closer to a few weeks."
"I make the schedule for my team. But I'm just one team lead. We've got about half a dozen. Team leads know all the schedules. And before you ask, " she tries to meet Spinister's gaze, "I will not give you the names of those team leads, or of any other operatives. We appreciate what you did for Kire, but we'll take care of this issue internally."

"I'm a cop. I can't be on drugs," grumbles Spinister. Yes, yes, he knows that probably doesn't stop a lot of cops, but Spinister has principles. Principles that say taking over the universe and committing xenocide are both fine but that being on drugs is bad and wrong. He takes the card and glares at it before also making that vanish.
He stares back at her, meeting her gaze, and he explains, "Was worth asking. Whoever went through here knew I'd be bringing her here before I even did."

The medic actually breaks down in laughter at Spinister's protests. After a minute or two she says, "Ss-Sorry. But man, that must make you the only sober cop on the force. Good luck with that."
She shakes her head when Spinster mentions that someone knew about K'ire. "Not necessarily. Turf scuffles happen all the time, or someone pays someone else to take out some competition. It sucks," she grins, flashing her fangs, "pun intended, but that's how it goes on Pz-Zazz."
"Either way, it will be taken care of. And she'll be taken care of."
"Anything else?" she asks.

"My day has been excessively coincidental," Spinister replies bitterly, rubbing on of his wrists. His wrists don't hurt, they feel fine, they feel perfectly solid, no little shakes in the servomotors, and that's... worrying.
Stealing a last, long look at K'ire, he turns to head out, then looks back, holds up a finger, and says, "Thanks."
Wow, this is far more talking that Spinister usually does in a week. He'll have to make up his quota of silence later.
Then, he turns again and is gone.
End of thread?

Inanna just nods as Spinister leave. After waiting several minutes to (hopefully) make sure that Spinister is gone, she grabs a defibrillator machine, and strides over to Mort's fallen form. She turns him over and grimaces at the sight of his mangled chest.
"Oh, man, he just got this body. He's gonna be so pissed when he wakes up..."
She then sets to work reviving her fallen assistant.
And that's a wrap.
