Emirate Xaaron is used to Springer angsting... in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. It's freaking annoying, and he may have to start shaking people.
He steeples his fingers as he listens, and finally he says, rather diplomatically, "...that sounds rather improvisational. But called in? You were a regular squad that received direct orders, then?"

Rodimus tilts his head and considers Springer's words. Then he tilts it in the other direction and a faint smirk tugs at the corners of his lips.
"So you turned up and started shooting, huh?" he asks, tone needling in a friendly manner.

Springer nods at Xaaron - "Yeah, we'd get sent to situations and basically told to fix it. Or get called to worse situations by higher-ups. And improvisation worked best for us once we got into the thick of things, since the Decepticons could be quite unpredictable. Especially those who've given up on their own protocol."
Rodimus pokes Springer a bit, and the triplechanger chuckles a bit. "You could say that. That's about as fancy as I like to get with my Wreckers, generally."

Emirate Xaaron's Wreckers were... Emirate Xaaron's Wreckers, but they sometimes told him to shove off and took different missions from different rebel cells. He decides not to tell Springer that part.
He does, however, muse, "We probably need to do more tactical and strategic planning sessions within command."

Rodimus makes a face. He has an instinctive knack for tactics and strategy - heck, to an extent, even Hot Rod did, though not to the level of Rodimus's - but the actual process of a planning meeting is still boring. However, "You're right," he admits reluctantly to Emirate Xaaron.
"We also need to start doing a lot more training sessions. People don't always realize this, but that's what gets you by when there's no time for a plan, or the plan falls through. You get the right responses drilled into your head so that when things go to pit, that's what you end up falling back on. In a way, it is a plan that gets followed without thinking, and..." Rodimus groans and covers his face with his right hand. "And I can't believe I'm admitting Kup was right about that."

Springer nods at both, but especially Rodimus. "Yeah, but nothing wrong with admittin' Kup was right. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be the 'bot I am today - hell, most of the 'bots around my age wouldn't be who they were without Kup." Springer lacks the usual solemn air that comes when he talks about the older Autobot, thanks to the arrival of Guzzle. It's done a lot to put him at ease knowing that Kup gets better, and even back on the battlefield.

Suddenly, the office is the meeting spot of the Kup Fanklub. Emirate Xaaron notes the change in the way Springer talks about Kup, remembering their talk back in the arena, and he quirks his optical ridge.
"That, and we tend to have people with radically different skill levels and skill sets. There is much we can learn from each other, and in some cases, much we need to learn." Himself included.
"There might be others who could serve as teachers, aside from Kup."

"Sure there is!" Rodimus answers Springer, smirking. "If he hears me admit he was right about anything, he'll get a big head, and then he'll be unbearable."
He shifts and leans back in his chair again and looks at Xaaron. "But you're right. Not only might there be others who can be teachers, there'd better be. We're dealing with Transformers from different realities - getting different perspectives in the instruction's essential. In fact..." Rodimus flips the flat monitor on his desk upright and taps on it for a few moments, bringing something up. "Kup noted that Sentinel mentioned having been a drill sergeant at one point. I can look through the files, but I'm pretty sure he's not the only one, and even if he is... well, sometimes the way to learn is to teach. Tell Kup that his top priority will be getting a few others to the level where they can do some training, too."

Springer nods at Xaaron and Rodimus both. "I could probably do a bit of the teaching myself. Maybe Ultra Magnus could as well." Then he looks over at Rodimus, head tilted to the side slightly - "If I remember correctly, Sentinel gave the twins some basic training, alongside the Jazz in their universe."

Emirate Xaaron mentally reviews how a dose of discretion would be good for all of them, and he considers. However, something Springer has said catches his attention, and he agrees readily, "Yes, that would be good for Ultra Magnus, I think."
Emirate Xaaron is all for excuses to shove Ultra Magnus at situations where he must interact with other Autobots and Maximals.

Rodimus beams at Springer. "I was hoping you'd volunteer yourself for that!" he answers cheerfully. Then he glances down at the terminal. "I think we've got enough of a start to begin working out some schedules. We'll want to cover other topics besides just combat, of course. Emergency response, security..." He pauses, then chuckles and adds, "The social graces, maybe?"
Autobot Charm School. Yes. That's what the Event Horizon needs.
"Speaking of Magnus, though," he adds, following a tangent, "Don't you think it's about time we saw to building him replacement armor? It's gotta be pretty awkward for him, considering, well, who he resembles. That might make it a bit easier for him." You know, if you want to encourage him to interact with. "I know we have quite a few drains on our resources, but..." he hesitates, frowning, and his tone grows more solemn. "Well, standard Cybertronian-grade armor, at least, we tend to have plenty of." They do, after all, still get quite a few 'dead-in-the-first-few-seconds' Transformers in.

Springer smirks over at Rodimus. "Well, I'll have to teach the potential Wreckers - maybe even Guzzle a bit, apparently he got pulled from his first mission as a Wrecker - so might as well be open to teaching others. The more of our guys we have that know how to cover their own skidplates, the less trouble we have." Hopefully.
Springer nods at Rodimus - "Yeah, sounds like a plan..." Even if it's a plan of giving Ultra Magnus parts of dead guys to wear, which is kinda weird, compared to using dead guys for parts. Or is it?

"Plausible deniability, at the very least," Emirate Xaaron remarks coolly, looking down at one of his hands. Springer will know what he's on about, here.
"But hmm, even Holi might be qualified to teach emergency crisis response in a classroom setting, being a Rescue Captain." Maybe not on the field, given how Holi reacted when held hostage, but hey, that is why they will do a class on hostages, which Holi, Clipper, Spy Shot 6, Sentinel Prime, Ultra Magnus, Swerve (just in case), Skyfire and Wheelie (if they weren't assigned elsewhere) will all be required to attend. On second thought, maybe just make it mandatory for everyone.
After all, even Emirate Xaaron got himself tossed in a cell by Flame, just a few years ago.
He jots down a few notes on a datapad, observing, "That's a question for the tech boys, but I'll ring Botanica. I'm not sure if we actually have blueprints for the armour, though, which may be problematic. I do have the blueprints for my Ultra Magnus somewhere, but he didn't have exo-armour. He was just a normal Transformer, albeit a very a powerful one."

Rodimus rubs his chin. "Actually, Springer, the mention of combined training brings up a good point. I... almost hesitate to suggest this, because I know how dangerous some of your missions can get, but really, we all tend to see a lot of danger, too. I'm just thinking... once someone gets past a certain amount of required 'basic' training, we may want to rotate some of the newer guys through different positions in order to round out their experience." He pauses and offers a weak smile to Springer. "Which means I... may ask you to take along some of our newer folk from time to time."
He listens to Emirate Xaaron, and nods, perhaps a little relieved to know that their own Ultra Magnus didn't have an Optimus Prime flavored filling. He'd have felt a little awkward not knowing about something like that!

Springer gives Xaaron a knowing look, raising his browridges a bit in a 'oh yeah, know what you mean' manner.
"The newer Jazz might be able to do some training too. Any maybe the medics could do some general first-aid training? Anything that can be done to help our 'bots be more autonomous and take some workload off of 'bots with more important things to do is a good thing, I figure."
Then Springer nods at Rodimus. "Sounds good - even with a Wrecker team, we more than likely won't run into much that would require us, so swapping some rookies in shouldn't be a problem."
