A hulking bipedal creature, green, with large spikes on his shoulder, and looking primarily robotic with some organic aspects 1 enters and takes place to one side of the judge's podium. "All rise," he half hisses out. Moments later, a large, vaguely egg-shaped creature floats in on an energy beam, metal tentacles dangling from the bottom of its form. 2 It has five faces, one of which bears the faint claw-mark scars of an ancient wound. The face of Wisdom is pointed forward. 3 The Quintesson floats into place and turns towards those gathered. A tentacle snakes up to grasp a gavel - such a thing would not be used in a proper Quintesson court, but sometimes allowances must be made - and he slams it down. "This court is now in session. The case is the people versus Sentinel Prime. The prosecution will make his oppening remarks." A bit an abbreviated opening, isn't it? 1 tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:Quintbailiff_anime.png2 tfwiki.net/w2/images2/7/72/Quint.jpg3 tfwiki.net/w2/images2/b/b0/Qhead3.gif

"You would posit that," Emirate Xaaron replies evenly, unruffled.
Somehow, Emirate Xaaron attracts all the women to protect him - Pee-Dee, Override, Oracle - now Arcee?
Emirate Xaaron does not betray a reaction to the arrival of the Quintessons, but he does conclude that he is definitely being hazed. Definitely. He stands up promptly at the call to rise, expression mostly neutral, faintly smiling. Yes, just another day, maybe Mirage and Kup and Wheelie and Rodimus Prime all ran into the mean Quintessons and this is a nice one, it wouldn't do to stereotype, and...
...he's not fooling himself.

Shockwave stands as the judge enters, impassive. He has never actually seen a Quintesson in person before, but he has seen simulations. This bodes ill.
Yet, there is naught to be done for it at the moment.
"Your Honor, the individual known to record as Sentinel Prime stands accused of property damage to an extreme degree, reckless endangerment of innocents, resiting arrest, and failing to comply with the local licensing laws. Evidence and witness testimony will show the defendant guilty beyond doubt. All that the people ask for is fair restitution and punishment for such gross negligence and disregard for the public good."
Shockwave tilts his head at Xaaron and then sits. Your turn Emirate.

Sentinel Prime did read the files on Quintessons. He vaguely recalls them from his own history lessons. His people fought a war against the Quintessons, but these days, they're mostly known as arms dealers. Good quality work... if you're into that kind of thing, which, as an upstanding Autobot, Sentinel Prime would never contemplate.
All Spark. Those things are even uglier than he expected, from his studies. In a monumental display of his peerless suck-up abilities, his expression stays respectful, not betraying a hint of the massive disgust he's feeling.
Blah blah blah, Sentinel Prime knows what he did, Shockwave, and he can honestly say that he's in entirely a different frame of mind now than he was then.

The Quintesson's expression doesn't change, which, for a Quintesson, means that he doesn't rotate to a different face. He simply turns the stern gaze of Wisdom on Emirate Xaaron and asks, "And what do you have to say for your client?"

Emirate Xaaron meets the Quintesson's gaze. In his best speaking voice, he explains, tone even, "Your honor, my client has a history of being a citizen soldier in good standing on his homeworld." He has character witnesses to back that up. Hi, Elita-1! "However, as with many veterans, he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder." And there's Oil Slick over there to ask about why he gave Sentinel Prime all those drugs if Sentinel Prime wasn't mentally ill and in need of treatment. "So I tender to the court that Sentinel Prime was not in his right mind at the time. The defense pleads not guilty by reason of temporary insanity."

OOC: Not skipping anyone - technically, scenemod doesn't have to hold to normal rotations (we just normally do, anyway).Isn't that cute! The robots think that they're people! Well, may as well continue the charade for as long as it entertains him. The Quintesson puts on his War face. "And now the Defense will detail his case. Begin." Wait, what? Doesn't the Prosecution go first? Certainly! If the burden of proof is on the Prosecution, of course. When the accused is guilty until proven innocent, however, things go a little differently.

Shockwave had risen in preparation for presenting his case- except that apparently he is not presenting first.
Well. That is certainly different. One headfin twitches. Shockwave is displeased.
He sits, head turning to watch Xaaron.

Sentinel Prime's antennae flick. Watching faces spin around and switch sure is weird. He feels rather unnerved, but he keeps his disquiet to himself, keeping his look respectful but pleasant.
This is nothing like a military court martial. He feels like a fish out of water.

Emirate Xaaron smoothly walks to his appointed space, not betraying any surprise, if he feels any. He is cool, smooth, and unflappable, and he has not missed that adorable little twitch of the headfins, Shockwave. He calls out, "As I stated previously, my client suffers from what is, fortunately, rather treatable mental illness, and I would like to call the stand Doctor Syd'ny Go'tlyeb, who treated Mr. Prime," okay, so that's a stupid thing to call Sentinel, but he'll roll with it, "at the venerable Arak’ham Asylum shortly after the alleged string of indiscretions."
It's so hard to resist smirking, but Emirate Xaaron resists.

And upon being called, Oil Slick stands and strides smoothly to the stand. His expression is sternly neutral as he does so, though like Xaaron, it is hard not to smirk.
The chemist starts to sit, but notices an incoming bailiff, and remains standing.

The bailiff approaches the bench. He holds out a credit stick and asks, "Do you swear on your money and your life that you will speak only the truth?"
What? You expected them to swear by a deity in a Pz-Zazz court or something?
Oil Slick gives the bailiff a funny look for a moment, then lays his large, claw-y, ham-hand on top the credit stick and says, "I do."
OOC: Oil Slick's reactions worked out with his player.

OOC: I think that Shockwave is timed out and I'm up?- - - Sentinel Prime gives Doctor Syd'ny Go'tlyeb a big smile genuine enough to pass smile certification, a Stepfordian smile that just might make Oil Slick wonder if they replaced Sentinel Prime with a clone. Wasn't Sentinel Prime a broken Autobot, driven to the depths of nonsense? Someone easily prone to irrational terror? Shouldn't even just seeing Oil Slick again be enough of a trigger to send Sentinel Prime into a gibbering fit? It should. But he's smiling a perfect smile, and inside, Sentinel Prime's thinking about what he'd do if he had a dark alley, a pair of stasis cuffs, and some alone-time with the good Doctor Go'tlyeb, because Sentinel Prime's realised something by now, something makes him feel pretty darn stupid for not realising it earlier - force fields stop syringes and force-feeding and silly clawed fingers.

Emirate Xaaron opens his questioning innocently enough, inquiring, "Doctor Go'tlyeb, is it true that you treated Mr. Prime at Arak’ham Asylum at he time and day of," time and day it happened, "?"
If Oil Slick feels like lying, Emirate Xaaron has proof Oil Slick was there, but hopefully the Decepticon will walk right into Emirate Xaaron's trap.

Oil Slick is quite curious about why Sentinel Prime is so much calmer now. He'd like to even test the limits of it, but if he must, he will have to do so with carefully-chosen words rather than his array of compounds.
Once he's done with the oath, he sits, looking to Emirate Xaaron. "That would be correct."
