"I'm pretty sure we're the only reality that can restore from disk, Twin Twist," Rodimus explains when Springer doesn't answer the Jumpstarter's question. In fairness to Springer, he probably didn't get what the heck Twin Twist is talking about.
And then he sighs as he realizes that at some level, he's already accepted Twin Twist as being from 'his' reality.
"And yes, we want the run down first. And after that, I want an explanation for why the blazes the Wreckers are going to war against the Technobots. But first, debrief. From the sounds of things, the Decepticons have a hard light sim room. You must have been in that when you 'died'. And as for the hellcat catching 'the glitters', that would be the other reason you can't see Topspin yet. Remember, you're in quarantine over that glitter? Which was your idea?"
"Anyway, go on."

"Other realities can't restore from disk? That's dumb!" Twin Twist blurts. Sure, a lot of the officers don't keep back-ups, in case the enemy stole them and plundered their helpless minds, but it makes sense for the grunts to keep back-ups. They're robots! Of course, some Autobots don't feel that way and get all religious about that or whatever, but Twin Twist zones out when those kind of arguments come up.
He protests, "The Technobots started it!" Actually, Triton did, but details, details. Then, Twin Twist looks embarrassed. "Oh, yeah, that's right, Prime. Wouldn't want Topspin to come down with the glitters. Yuck."
"So I drilled out the wall and ended up in space after gravity went out," because that obviously improved his situation immensely. "One of the blue Seekers but not the other followed me out, but he," actually she, "wasn't the big problem. The big problem was big, I mean, large. Biggest single Decepticon I've seen short of Trypticon, though not that big. Maybe a little bigger than Scorponok. Purple and grey, way too many optics, turns into a bomber. I drilled his left foot."
That's just what Twin Twist does.

Yeah, Springer totally didn't get it. "I'm...not really sure what we'd boot from. Never had to encounter that. Probably a data slug..."
Springer then looks over at Rodimus. "Sounds kinda like...whatshisface, Lugnut? That Junkion Perceptor, Skyfire and I picked up rambled about encountering him in the swamp on Gillanan."

"Ah, yeah," Rodimus agrees with Springer, dipping his head in a nod and rubbing his chin. "That sounds like him." So Rodimus was listening to Dai-Janku's rants?
Or maybe Rodimus was just reading Punch's reports.
"So you drilled his foot," which isn't too surprising, because that's pretty much what Twin Twist does, "and then what?" Rodimus asks.

Twin Twist has the weird mental image of trying to download Springer into a garden-variety kind of slug. He decides not to try to make too much sense out of that. Twin Twist does ask, "Prime, can I have a backup made when we're done? I don't want to forget any of this."
He continues, and they will see why he doesn't want to forget, "The space Seeker broke off after that. Lugnut, that's his name? tried to step on me and hammer me, but I climbed up his back. He popped a," he stares down at his hands for moment, fingers twitching, "lot of missiles out of hatches in his back. I jumped on one of the missiles and rode it around until it arced back at him. Right before the impact, I jumped off and grabbed on to his back again. The blast knocked him off the side of the ship, and we went tumbling down into the atmosphere, so I had to burrow into him to keep from burning up. Luckily, he went crashing towards a lake, so I bailed out, hit lake bottom, and drilled until I found a city."
He dusts off his hands. "Wrecked and ruled."

Springer can't help but grin as Twin Twist finishes up the story with a big awesome finish.
He chuckles once it's finished. "Now that's a heckuva tale. I'm with Twin Twist, back that up - something like does deserve to be remembered." Looks like Twin Twists are similar across realities with their fascination with drilling into robots bigger than them.
And that's why they're Wreckers.

"Sure," Rodimus says with a grin. "But there's something we need to talk about first, Twin Twist."
"A couple of things, actually, but first things first. What is this about a 'Wrecker-Technobot' war?"
Yes, Rodimus is rather fixated on that. If this is his future, he wants the matter cleared up!

Twin Twist grins back at Springer. He did good?
But oh, right, he's not done here yet. Twin Twist looks over at Rodimus Prime and explains, "We'd won the war. The Wreckers mopped up the last of the Decepticons. So, I guess you were tired of it all, I dunno, and you decided to hand the Matrix off to Springer - my Springer, not that Springer over there, though I'm sure he's a great bot, too. That creep Triton got his wires in a kink and said Ultra Magnus oughta have the Matrix instead, even though he's a stay-at-home do-nothing - again, not the Ultra Magnus here - and that Ultra Magnus would be a better leader, blah, blah, blah."
Springer knows the name Triton, doesn't he?
"Everyone got angry, Scattershot murdered Roadbuster, boom, Wrecker-Technobot Civil War. So uh... if we're all still Autobots, can I have the Autobot frequency back? Because we weren't exactly using it anymore."
"And."
He points two fingers at Rodimus Prime and then back at his optics. "You have gotta tell me that you'll keep the Matrix, even if you're sick of it, because as neat as Springer Prime would be, it ain't worth Roadbuster dying."

Springer first boggles at the concept of being Autobot leader. "...me, a Prime?" He shakes his head a bit. "Dunno the other me, but he must've been a lot better at the leading stuff than me."
Then Twin Twist says a name that gets his attention. "An Autobot named Triton?"
His head shakes again. "Man... Must've been really, really worn down to start shooting each other over a leadership disagreement."

Rodimus just stares at Twin Twist, disbelieving. "But that's... that's absurd!" he protests. "I wouldn't... I mean... it's my burden," and perhaps the fact that he sees it as such helps explain why he might be so willing to give it up later. "But... I mean, we already know that Magnus can't use the Matrix, anyway!"
He shakes his head, not quite looking at either of them, optics staring off in the distance. "That can't be my future, my reality... it just doesn't make any sense!"
And then he activates his radio, since he knows that Twin Twist's is working again. But how to delicately bring up such an issue?
//Twin Twist, it doesn't make sense... I wouldn't give the Matrix to Springer, anyway. I have to... to stand watch on what's in it.// If this is his Twin Twist, that should make sense, and if it isn't, his phrasing was vague enough that he can probably pass it off as part of his confusion over what Twin Twist is describing.

"My Springer's from the future. That probably helps," Twin Twist reasons, not so reasonably. He pops out a holo-cube and brings up a picture of Triton, who looks exactly like Springer's Triton, only he's wearing an Autobot symbol, not a Decepticon symbol. He complains, "Useless little glitchhead. Died in the crossfire. Anyway, Autobots don't fight over leadership in your reality? Because Grimlock and Blaster sure as shooting did in mine."
Rodimus Prime probably doesn't know Triton. He only showed up about 70 years ago, Twin Twist's time.
Twin Twist is used to his officers staring at him. What's he in for now? Oh slag, the Prime's calling him out of the radio. Maybe they'll at least let him see this other Topspin, and he can say sorry before he goes.
Oh. It's not that bad.
Twin Twist answers, after a bit of thought, //You're from 2015, you said? So you haven't suffered the Unicron-induced super-aging that made you look older than Kup and Emirate Xaaron combined and laid you up on life support yet, and you haven't cleaned out the Matrix yet, either.//

The Wrecker commander shrugs. "Far as I can remember, no big tussles over leadership back home. Sentinel Prime got killed, followed by Zeta Prime who also got killed, then Optimus. He hasn't been killed yet, at least not up the point I was pulled from."
Springer leans forward when Twin Twist produces that image of Triton. "Oh, THAT guy!" He frowns. "He was a Decepticon back home."

By this point, Rodimus had already prepared himself for the possibility that this really is 'his' Twin Twist. This... seems to confirm it. He closes his optics a moment, then opens them and nods.
// I... see. //
// Do me a favor and... avoid talking about the Unicron thing for a bit. //
The young Prime frowns, both at Twin Twist's description of events, and Springer's reaction to the image. He narrows his optics a moment as he thinks it over, then looks at Twin Twist.
"Are you sure you guys got the last of the Decepticons?"

//The aging went away after you fixed the Matrix,// Twin Twist offers helpfully, //and okay, Prime. Like, the whole Unicron thing? Do I just say that they don't need to know if someone asks? Why is this a favor? Can't you just order me?//
Twin Twist blinks at Springer identifying Triton as a Decepticon. He's not bright enough to get what Rodimus Prime is implying, so he just replies, "Look, you were ready to hand Springer the Matrix. I'm just a gunslinger. If the brass says 'mission accomplished', it's mission accomplished."

Springer looks over at Rodimus, frowning. "Never knew Triton to be the infiltrating type. He ran with our rivals, Squadron X. Then again, so did Macabre, and he was a would-be assassin in you guys' universe, if I remember what Xaaron told me correctly."
