//Okay, I order you not to mention the Unicron-in-the-Matrix thing until I give further notice, and if anyone asks, tell me about it, because they shouldn't be asking.// Rodimus's radio voice sounds a little exasperated, and there might be a tired edge to his expression that he can't quite keep out of his face.
At what Springer says, Rodimus frowns. "Not sure 'would-be' is the right phrase, even if he didn't take down the person he was actually gunning for. But... well, maybe it's a coincidence. We do have one case of someone who's a Decepticon in several realities and is an Autobot here, but..." But even that one case would eventually have become a Decepticon, had he stayed home.
He shakes his head and sighs, resting his elbows on a nearby counter so that he can prop up his head, using both hands to cover his face. It takes a moment before he speaks again.
"I... thank you, Twin Twist. That... that..." his voice wavers slightly, and he falls silent again for a moment. When he speaks again, he's regained control of himself. "That will be helpful," he says, lowering his hands from his face, that haunted bit that sometimes lurks in the back of his expression a bit more obvious than usual. "I can... now that I know, I can... I'll find some way to prevent this."

Twin Twist makes an extremely sour face when Springer mentions Macabre, and he springs off the berth, landing on the floor in drill-tank mode, drills already spinning. He just barely catches and stops himself, but that was so very close. Twin Twist snarls out, "Macabre is murdering dross with rust for processors."
He transforms back and heaves himself back onto the table, since he hasn't actually been told he can get off.
Orders! That's more like it! //Okay, Prime, if anyone asks me about Unicron-in-the-Matrix, I won't say anything to him, and I'll tell you.// He doesn't question. He just accepts it.
Twin Twist can't help but feel he's been the bearer of bad news, here, somehow, but he can't really figure out how. He replies awkwardly, "Uh. Sure thing. Good luck, Prime."
Then it hits him. //Oh. So Unicron's in you now?//

Springer moves back just slightly when Twin Twist jumps down. Rather strong reaction, that. Then again, it is Twin Twist.
Then Rodimus...halfway breaks down? Springer steps over, and if Rodimus permits, puts a hand on his shoulder. "Hey Prime, you okay?"

Rodimus permits.
At Springer's contact, Rodimus looks up towards him, weak smile on his face. "Well, I've been better," he answers truthfully, "but then, I've been far, far worse." And will be again, from the sounds of things. "I'll manage."
As Twin Twist gets up and gets ready to go, Rodimus rubs the back of his helmet and considers, frowning faintly in thought. "Wait, Twin Twist, before you go... from what you've told me, things line up well enough to suggest that you and Topspin share this... split-spark thing?" he looks up at Springer, looking for confirmation. "I'm not sure how or why, it doesn't make any sense, but... Springer, maybe you should explain."
Over the radio, he answers simply, //Yes, Twin Twist, he is.//

See, Springer knows to get out of the way and is so much better at handling emotional matters. That is why Springer's an officer!
"Nothing's making much sense," Twin Twist offers helpfully.
He looks down at his feet. //Oh. I'm sorry, Prime.//

Springer frowns a bit. He's not entirely convinced that Rodimus is alright, but Primes are tough 'bots. "Good."
Then Rodimus passes the buck about the split spark thing. "Doesn't make sense to me, either." Heck, Springer's not even sure it made sense to Topspin and Twin Twist. "It's a manufacturing glitch - results in an overlapping nervous system. Sometimes if one feels something, the other does as well. For some reason, it looks like it's overlapping here as well. This universe gets weirder and weirder..."

//Not as much as I am, Twin Twist,// Rodimus answers.
As Springer explains things, the young Prime nods. "From what I understand, in their own reality, Topspin and his own Twin Twist were kind of... tied together at the soul, you might say. And for some reason, when you and he were brought here, he was 'retied' to you." Rodimus shrugs, palms up, face in a 'what can you do?' expression. "That's why I asked about the pain rifle. After Topspin arrived here, a Decepticon showed up in our 'rock room' and shot him in the back before dying. The 'pain rifle' was actually you feeling that shot."
He shakes his head. "When you get a full work-over from the medics, they'll have to look into that, but since you don't even have a spark, I'm not sure what they'll be able to figure out."

Twin Twist stares blankly at Springer and Rodimus Prime, struggling to make sense of what they're saying. Finally, he manages, "So if Topspin's getting his skidplate kicked because he tried soloing Bombshell, Blitzwing, Dirge, and Ramjet all at once, I'll feel the pontoon-beating, too?"
"I don't even have pontoons."
Twin Twist sighs and grumbles, "I s'pose I'm still better off than Rack'n'Ruin. So about that back-up?"

Springer nods as Rodimus picks up where he left off, then shrugs a bit at Twin Twist. "At times. It's not a constant thing, just happens now and then. I'm...not really sure if it's just pain or other things, though. I never really asked." He makes a mildly lost face. "I guess the best person to ask about it would be Topspin."

"I'll make a note to Botanica and Perceptor that I've authorized the back-up, 'Twist," Rodimus confirms, then he pauses, frowning. "And... actually, I should probably include instructions on how it's done. I don't think either of them are from realities that use back-ups." He stands, and looks down at Twin Twist. "Anything else?"

Other things? Twin Twist agrees, "I'll definitely ask Topspin about that, then! I want to see him, anyway." Yes, Twin Twist, they know.
"Uh... don't think I have anything else, Prime. Give me marching orders, and I'm good to go."
Very clearly explained marching orders.
OOC: Wrap?

"Figure we get you set up with a room assignment and a duty schedule. Can do that on the way to meeting Topspin, unless Prime's got other ideas..." Springer says, then looks over at Rodimus to see if he does have other things.

OOC: Sounds good to me!

Rodimus shakes his head. "Your interview's covered, and you'll be in the new arrivals room for a bit, until Long Haul assigns you a proper room." So it's Long Haul to blame, not Rodimus, for who gets stuck with him. "Kup'll be adding you to the duty schedule soon enough." Rodimus ejects a datastick from one of the computers and tosses it towards Twin Twist. "That should cover the basics."
OOC: Sure. Will leave this open to give 'Twist a final reply.

Twin Twist catches the datastick and promptly jacks it into his arm to do some reading. He'll have to read it a few times before he gets it, so he'd better get started now. Twin Twist grins and replies, "Thanks, Prime, Springer."
"Room assignment? Anything like the barracks at De-...er..."
Wait, is he supposed to talk about the secret Wrecker base in front of alternate Wreckers? Oh, this day just keeps getting longer and longer...
The End
