OOC: Day 11, after Get Back Up On Your Feet. Quarters, private thread.
Were this any other Autobot than Swerve, reminiscing about his home would make him a little homesick at worst. But this is Swerve and Firebolt's questions, innocent or not, have left him fuming. He at least kept himself in check until he was finished with her repairs and sent her off good as new.
Now, though? Now that he's away from her and the repair bay, in the relative privacy of an empty corridor on the way to his quarters? Now he's free to put all the effort he likes into blistering the paint on the walls, figuratively or literally. He stalks stiff-legged down the corridor, uneven stride doing nothing to improve his mood, and all the while muttering a string of rapid-fire invective vicious enough that between venting and working on Firebolt, he feels a little drained by the time he reaches his door. Tired enough, at least, to trudge in relatively quietly and make a beeline for his bunk without checking for either of his roommates before easing into a semi-prone position, body twisted just so to keep his ventral plate from making contact with the surface of the berth.
"To the smelter with this whole Primus-fragged day," he sighs into one arm and tries to settle himself down.

Oh, hey, look! Swerve's room is not empty! It is, in fact, occupied by a Kup! This Kup looks to be in pretty rotten condition, but in truth, all of the actual damage has already been repaired. Still, much of his paint has been stripped off by acid, something he's yet to correct, and what's left is obviously scratched and gouged all over.
He's also standing on his berth facing his own wall. He scowls at a datapad, then, with his other hand, lifts a piece of chalk in an attempt to update the list of realities. At Swerve's words he glances back and snorts.
"And what the blazes has crawled up your tailpipe, or is this just normal 'Everything torques Swerve off'?"

Swerve stiffens when Kup speaks and glowers furiously over the seat on one arm in the way of someone who'd be all too happy to start throwing punches if it wouldn't take him a minute and a half to get up again. The auxiliary cooling unit on his back kicks in with a low whine as he shoves himself up just enough to start turning over.
"Y'know what, oldtimer?" he rumbles, somewhere between enraged and exhausted. "I just got done with the kid with the weird head things and I ain't in the slaggin' mood to listen to you glitchin' at me." And with a grunt and a heave, he pitches himself onto his other side and puts his back to Kup and the chart on the wall.

As it turns out, Kup's in an abnormally foul mood himself. He turns to glare at Swerve's back for a moment and snorts before turning back to the chart.
"Well boo-slagging-hoo," he replies sarcastically. "Sorry to hear you've had such a rough day, then."

Scowling, Swerve turns his head as if to look at Kup – not that he can actually see the beat up old truck through his front fender – without turning over far enough to see him. It took enough to turn over this way in the first place.
"What crawled into your muffler and died?" he demands.

Kup grunts, not looking back down at Swerve. "Just got done working with a slagging 'Con for about a day that I wasn't allowed to kill... because he somehow got himself sworn in as a blasted cop! Was assigned to work with me on this case I had picked up. Spent the time hunting down some sicko that's out to 'redeem the unworthy' or some such rust by puttin' them through a twisted obstacle course of death and then torturing them. Or the other way around." He shrugs.
"Either way, it's left me in a pretty foul mood."

If I had to spend a whole day around a Decepticon and not kill him, I'd be pretty torqued too. Swerve scowls at himself this time. "Yeah?" he snaps instead of voicing that sympathetic twinge. "Well, sorry you had such a lousy time of it, but I came in here to cool off and defrag, not catch any of your slaggin' bad mood just 'cause I'm not sunshine and smiles. Thanks all the same." And he shrugs himself into a more comfortable position.

Kup snorts. "You're one to complain about someone sharing around a bad mood," he sneers. He lowers his hand to tap at the datapad with his index finger, the other fingers still working to hold onto the chalk. Then he reaches up and writes Springer's name below Optimus's and begins adding marks to some of the columns.

"I don't recall snappin' at you when I walked in," Swerve growls without budging. Didn't even know you were in here. "Do recall sayin' I wasn't in the mood for this scrap. Now d'you mind lettin' me cool off some before I break this stupid thing Long Haul had to strap on me?" The auxiliary cooling unit doesn't sound pleased with his mood, humming loudly enough to set off vibrations through his back. It might tickle if it wasn't so irritating.

Kup opens his mouth to snap again, but then the sound of the cooling unit catches his attention. He frowns as he turns to look at Swerve, looking down, particularly, at the cooling unit. He shrugs and turns back to his work. "Sure, you do that," he answers.
He adds a few more marks with the chalk.
"So, this mean the big secret's out?" he finally asks.

Swerve very visibly flinches at the question, shoulders jerking inward and head tucking down further behind his front bumper. It's something he's been trying hard not to think about.
"Well," he grinds out at the wall in front of him, tone mostly angry and bitter but beneath that, there's a sense of dread finality, "Long Haul knows. Xaaron prolly does. Then there's the kids and that slag-sucker who likes callin' me a coward for trying not to race the kids." You know, the reason we got into this mess in the first slagging place.

"Right, so it's out," Kup answers, finishing the markings. He then starts tapping onto his datapad. "That many people with a crew this size? Sorry, lad." He makes a face. "I s'pose I should let Xaaron know that I already knew."
"Not lookin' forward to that conversation," he grumbles, "but if it's out, there's a good chance that me knowin' will slip out on its own. Best to fess up before that happens."

Swerve has nothing much to say on the current subject – not that he wants to say anything on it, nor that he even likes thinking about it – so he snorts, then makes a discontented noise with his engine. Kup's worried about catching scrap for not admitting he knew, and he kept it secret to humour the racer. It's a much more clear-cut case of Swerve being the problem than the fight on the highway.
He growls wordlessly again and re-settles himself.

Kup falls silent as he works for awhile, considering whether he wants to prod further. It's not that he's afraid of upsetting Swerve or anything, but the question is... would it do any good?
Finally, he decides, 'What the hell. Prod.'
"Read the report they got on the Command listing over what happened. Wanna give your ve- strike that. Let me hear your version."
Because just asking if Swerve wants to tell him isn't going to get him anywhere.

For an instant, Swerve remains still and silent. Then his shoulder jerks and a thud resounds from the wall where he's just punched it. He leaves his arm rigid and glowers at his fist instead of at Kup.
"Why bother?" he growls. "You already read the report."
