"Oh, if you like dead languages, you'll love lawyers - that's all they ever speak," Pyrope snorts, smirking. "But there are some research institutes and exploration teams, maybe universities... I can't say I've really looked."
She gathers up her boxes and shrugs, before saying hesitantly, "Hey. Thanks."
OOC: Maybe a timeskip to something slightly more interesting than boxes?

"You are welcome," Perceptor replies gently. "I will keep you appraised, ma'am."
Of course, that means that he has to start tracking down those files, which is what he does once he escorts Pyrope out.

ooc: will time skip to day 18 on my next post. Thank you.

Glyph nods at Pyrope, and offers a faint smile as the Rock Lord leaves. "And thank you!"

And so, Pyrope wanders off with boxes of stuff. If Perceptor actually does get back to her, she'll be shocked. If he actually gets back to her with something useful, she may even indulge in a case of the vapours, as if appropriate for this planet.
But mostly, she just hopes that Glyph will go get a Real Job.
OOC: Timeskip ahoy.

Glyph already has a real job! Sort of. Except that it doesn't really pay right now. And they haven't really run into any ancient languages where they've needed her expertise...
Okay, maybe she needs a real job on Pz-Zazz. But until then, Perceptor will gladly accept her assistance here. If nothing else, her organizational abilities will be quite useful to help sort the cases that are still pending. Perceptor has the feeling that he will need to go over all of them and correct those that still have bodies remaining in this facility that he can access, given the state of the lab here. If anyone has done an real Post Mortem in this room in the last year, he'd be willing to eat his own mirror assembly.
Three days later....
Yes, it has taken that long to locate all the open cases, get them appropriately filed, and make the appropriate revisions to those cases where he could still access the bodies. The sheer levels of ineptitude and laziness astound Perceptor; his temper... is not ideal at the moment.
Thankfully, Glyph has been a wonderful antidote to the sheer idiocy he's been correcting, her sunny disposition and cheerful demeanor have kept Perceptor's temper from utterly fraying. Not to mention her stalwart insistance on assisting, even through the long hours Perceptor had kept. Her note-taking skills alone had already proven quite invaluable. He never would have been able to clear the backlog and repair the woefully mis-filed and mis-identified cases in a mere three days without her help.
The rapid work through so many cases, however, had been quite enlightening. Certain patterns had jumped out amidst all the deaths and suspicious circumstances. There is, apparently, a rather severe drug problem on Pz-Zazz. Several, in fact.
A great number of the cases had been various sorts of ODs and withdrawl complications. Some of them quite curious, and showing signs of decay and tissue degredation out of all keeping with normal decomposition rates of deceased bodies. That could only mean that in some of these cases, these tissues had started to decay before death.
Very curious.
"I believe that these are the last samples for now, Glyph," he sighs, handing her another handful of carefully collected and equally carefully notated vials to add to the box she is organizing.
Two sets of boxes, actually. One box to go be examined and then filed with the rest of the evidence. The second box, however, will be returning with them to the Event Horizon. Besides the drug problem, several other health issues had popped up. Perceptor is curious to see if he can produce antidotes and withdrawl agents to help combat some of the drug problem, and other pharmeceuticals to combat the simpler health issues that he's made note of. Such compounds could be marketed on Pz-Zazz for a significant sum, if he can deduce how to create them, and they still require more income to offset the bills that are still accumulating.
"Your assistance has been invaluable, Glyph. I cannot thank you enough."

Assisting Perceptor counts as a real job, yes - especially if it's sorting out his various projects, be it in Glyph's own universe or this one. Thankfully Glyph has plenty of experience!
As iron sharpens iron, Perceptor has kept Glyph from going off the deep end as much as she has him, whether he realizes it or not. He's rather similar to her own Perceptor, at least before he wiped his emotions out. Helping this Perceptor out, even in a strange place with strange projects is almost like being home again. However, the condition of this office is still quite maddening. The abysmal lack of follow-through is one factor, but what really scrapes Glyph's paint is the disorganization. How anyone could find anything in this mess is absolutely beyond her. Usually, even the sloppiest of individuals have a method to the madness, but this goes beyond the worst she's seen, and she rooms with Rattrap!
Glyph takes the boxes from Perceptor with a curt nod. "You're quite welcome, Perceptor - shall I get anything to bring back when I take these up to the Event Horizon?"

Happy, Dr. Rio Dan's chauffeur peeks into the workshop carefully, like he's expecting to see something a bit risqué. (He's only been told that a male robot and female robot have been in there for ages, and it isn't like they'd actually be doing work, would they?)
He seems eminently relieved to discover that yes, they are actually doing work, but also a bit baffled. He jingles some keys, looks over at Perceptor, and coughs softly to get his attention, announcing, "Hey there. The motorpool's assigned you your transportation."

Perceptor shakes his head. "I will be accompanying you, Glyph," he replies as he starts putting away the few materials of the facility that he had been utilizing. Most of the work had, thus far, been accomplished with his own materials and tools. Fortunately he'd had them. "I wish to analyze some of these compounds in my own laboratory, and I believe that I am actually scheduled to perform watch duty shortly, anyway."
The sound of someone actually peeking into the room comes as a surprise. Granted, Perceptor rather easily gets lost in his work, but it's almost seemed as if everyone had been avoiding this area, almost.
"Excuse me?" he inquires, politely. "Motorpool? Transportation? I do not recall requesting any transportation?" Unless it's a perk that they just get with the job?

Oh, yay, Glyph doesn't have to go back alone! Pz-Zazz is terribly off-putting, and just a mite fear-inducing for someone lacking proper combat capability. One of these days, she should at least see about upgrading her stingers. "Oh, excellent!" she answers, then turns to see Happy. If she knew what he was thinking, though, she'd probably shame him, his name, his family, his family's families, and all their ancestors in about 37 different languages.
She glances back at Perceptor - "If I might be bold enough to assume based on the events you told me about from the past few days that led to you getting this position, sir, it would seem that this individual is your chauffeur."

Happy stares at Glyph and bursts out laughing, clutching his belly. "Hah! Oh, that's a good one, little miss. Only Dr. Rio Dan gets a chauffeur. You get... well, you'll see." He taps the tag on the keyring. "Tag tells you the plate you'll be looking for down the garage. It's not like we expect you to do field work on foot."
Happy looks mildly aghast that thought, but he's being rather evasive about just what kind of transport has been assigned to Perceptor.

Before Perceptor can correct Glyph - he knows who Happy drives around, after all - Happy does so himself. Which is just as well; Perceptor would not have accepted a driver anyway. For one, it's a horrible waste of manpower, and for another, he is perfectly capable of driving himself. If he even drives. He's been getting along fairly well on Pz-Zazz on foot so far.
"Oh. Very well," he replies, walking over to accept the keys. "I suppose that is quite reasonable and efficient. Thank you." It doesn't occur to him to ask what he is getting, either.
"If you are done, Glyph, I believe that we are prepared to return home."

There's a look over at Happy that appears to be mild confusion, then a bit of embarassment. "Oh, my apologies for assuming, then." Though she's scowling on the inside, and thinks that Happy is an emwhulb.
Glyph nods to Perceptor, adjusting what she's carrying a bit. "I'm ready." On the upside, if Perceptor drives, that means he can hit a drive-thru and be all indecisive at the speaker.

Happy would be heart-broken to know what Glyph thinks of him! Oh well, at least Miss Salsa Kettles, that pretty reptilian secretary, will console him. He vanishes off pretty quickly.
Perceptor and Glyph will find an odd number of people in the garage when they get there, seemingly just... malingering. (They really just want to see Perceptor's reaction to his ride.)

Now, now, Glyph. There's no need to be crass. That just stoops to their level, after all.
Ah well. Places to go, chemistry to do. Once those last few items are packed in the small crate, Perceptor ushers Glyph out the door and follows the dingy signage and vague directions down to the Motorpool portion of the garage. He's never worked in such a facility before, though, so the plethora of extraneous people hanging about does not seem overly out of place to him. Perhaps they simply enjoy "talking shop" in a non-work environment?
Ah, well. No matter. Now, how does he-- Oh yes. The license number of the key tag. OU 812. Now, where would vehicle OU 812 be? OU 809, OU 810, OU 811, Ah! Here it is! OU 8...1...2...
Perceptor halts at the back end of a motorcycle, peering at the key tag. OU 812? Yes. The tags match. "Hmm... Curious."

Glyph is being crass with big words that are too much for their puny minds so it doesn't seem crass, though! That's gotta be a couple of levels above them, at least.
The number of people is a bit odd to Glyph, but not so much to draw too much of her attention.
However, she frowns a bit at the motorcycle. "...hum."
