End of Day 23, Room 10 of Ship, Semi Private Dustcutter sped through the corridor at almost full speed, this was normal for the toy car, either he had somewhere to go or he wasn’t going. Most of his faction members could probably jog faster, maybe all of them; he didn’t exactly drive straight which didn’t help either. He stopped when he reached his destination, a massive (by his own standards) door to the berth he’s been assigned. He transformed, sent the signal to open the door and scuttled in.

The room is currently dark, except for the dim red glow of optics on stand-by coming from somewhere on the dark shape sprawled on the port bunk. That dim radiance is enough to reveal the shapes of all three bunks; one of the others seems to have had a Dustcutter-sized ramp from the floor to the berth added. The quiet hum of powerful machinery on idle and stand-by fills the room, a background susurrus like the distant hissing of a sea.

A single red optic adjusts to lighting of the room taking everything in, Dustcutter can’t quite believe an entire third of this room is allocated to him; it’s like a mansion, albeit a simple one. He thinks the ramp is a nice touch, saves having to walk on the walls or otherwise climb up to the gargantuan berth; he even has his own desk Woot! He studies the sleeping giant for a moment before activating the light that encircles his optic, looking about the room again under better light, looking for vents or other access ports through the walls and ceiling. He scuttled up the ramp, across the berth and pounced onto the desk getting a feel for the size of the place. Everything was so new and the possibilities endless, and cleaner than the mudball he been on previously too. Stupid Dirt – no wait – Earth, stupid Earth.
He shone his light over the body of his comrade, Hellbender he’d been informed. Equally as big as the others but not a body plan he recognised.

Optics brighten, and a deep voice mutters, "What the slag?" Hellbender sits up and looks around the room. His body plan is unique, these days, given his alt-mode as a Gillanese mining robot, but he still has a rather Seeker-ish head and face.
"Lights," he growls, and they come on, illuminating the room. Hellbender doesn't need them, but he's not the only one in the room now. Red optics narrow slightly as he peers at the tiny robot scuttling over the adjacent berth. "You're no turbo-rat, no matter how much you sound like one," he rumbles. "Slag, Ah figured the new fittings meant Ah was getting a Pred bunkmate, but Ah think a Pred could snap you up for lunch, if he was so inclined."

Dustcutter jumps a little as the comparative giant awakens from his slumber <insert imagined foreboding music here>. He stared Hellbender squarely in the optics determined to not be overly intimidated until such time as he was rightfully scared slagless. “This pred of which you refer, this is short for predacon yes?” he did look a bit more nervous now, “Is there one aboard, upon this mightiest of vessels who would actually desire to ingest this valuable unit?” His tone of voice suggested curiosity more than worry.

Hellbender tilts his head very slightly. "Ayep, that would be Predacons. And it were a figure of speech, exaggeratin' for effect that you're really tiny. Though considerin' some of the weirdos and crazies we had in the forces back in my reality, you never know. Ah don't know the Preds well enough to say that there isn't one that might try to eat you. Ah'm going to have to be extra careful not to step on you accidentally, but Ah reckon you're used to that, ain'tcha?"

Dustcutter looked up high and proud and placed one pincer against his chest, and opened up with the biggest, deepest most sincere voice his tiny speaker could muster, “It is but a sad fact of this unit’s meagre existence that no matter how I seek to raise my self in the optics of those I call comrade that I will forever seek the corners and shadows to cloak myself from their heavy footfalls…pfft yeah right.”. Dustcutter turned to inspect the wall for a brief moment before starting to scale it easily with his electro magnetic feet “getting on the wall and off the floor tends to help and ease the issue when the traffic get a little on the heavy side. Other wise I just look where I’m going and make sure it’s where no one else, no bot no con, is headed.
He jumped off the wall and back to the desk. “My personal identifier is Dustcutter and that is how I am known, you are the unit and individual called Hellbender and known as that yes?”

Hellbender gives the little climbing robot a curious look. "Well, that's a right useful skill! Much easier not to get stepped on if you're not on the floor, Ah reckon."
He nods at Dustcutter's question. "Ayep, Ah'm Hellbender now. You one of Barricade's bunch? Somethin' 'bout the way you move reminds me of his little pal Frenzy."
Dustcutter is lucky in one thing: Hellbender is one of the more easy-going Decepticons on Ship--as long as someone doesn't step all over his hot buttons and anger him. Perhaps there was method to Hook's room assignment madness; Hellbender's tremorsense and acute hearing made it unlikely he would step on a moving Dustcutter by accident, and he wasn't the type to swat the tiny Decepticon out of either a fit of pique or random paranoia about small scuttling things.

“Yes, that is accurate and correct as best as I can process the situation, I am of Barricade’s bunch”. ‘Barricade’s bunch’ it sounded like a low brow version of the Fantastic Four.
“I am given to understand that a full third of this dormitory has been allocated for my personal use, is that accurate to your processing?” Dustcutter looked around the room and then stared at the still empty third berth “Do we have a third?”

"Thought so," Hellbender said.
"Yep," he said, waving his hand at Dustcutter's berthing area. "It's less hassle to give everyone the same configuration than to resize and reallocate stuff every time someone changes compartment. 'Spose it's a real luxury berth for you. On the other hand, if we had me, Lugnut and, oh, Scourge in this here compartment, it'd be a mite crowded."
"Naw, just us two. Had this cabin to myself until now; Ah guess they figured with the size of my alt-mode, wouldn't be much room for anyone else if Ah transformed in here."

Size and mass changing, Dustcutter had yet to come across those technologies. He’d only come across sub-space that day and he didn’t have the power output to make it work for him. So when he studied Hellbender, he couldn’t fathom how transforming would take up much more room, heck Dustcutter himself was more compact in car mode. “Okay you lost me and rendered me bamboozled and otherwise lacking in understanding, what do you transform into and how do thus fill the room that appears to be more than sufficient on size?”

"If you get a whole lot higher on the wall, Ah'll demonstrate," Hellbender replies. He shifts around and stands up with a soft rustle of metal sliding over metal repeated in hundreds of echoes as his articulated armor pieces slide over one another.

“Slagging allsparks!” To say Dustcutter was impressed was an understatement; he imagined this guy would give a Prime a run for their credits. “How… how in the fragging database of schematics did you expand your size like that in such a manner and otherwise just get bigger?”
Somewhere Scorponok needs a clean aft-plate and a new function cause he just got slammed by Hellbender's epicness.

Hellbender, having transformed into his mining worm mode, takes up most of the room in big lazy coils. His worm's maw swings around to face Dustcutter, then he rolls his head slightly to bring a glowing red optic, probably larger than Dustcutter, into view.
"Aw, that ain't nothin! Back home, Astrotrain can transform into a shuttle large enough to hold Devastator, and he ain't any bigger than me as a robot. It's called 'mass-shifting', and Ah think it involves some serious compaction of density, 'cause both me and 'Train have to be really strong to handle it in robot mode. 'It's why we got purty heavy armor, too. On the other hand, Ah think some of us use subspace, 'cause Megatron back home ain't heavy when he shifts into his little pistol form, or so Ah hear."

Dustcutter thought about this technological revelation and very quickly decided he wanted some of this for himself. “This…size changing technology, is there any way to acquire, gain and bring to my possession some of it or does it require that a individual unit be factory built to handle it?”
