Improbably thin fingers slide into Barricade's neck-seams.
Private to his partner: //So... The sniper, the invisi-lizard-thing, the spider-witch, the yellow guy, and the motorcycle with the attitude. Frag no, none of them can be second.//

He is well used to Frenzy's random poking and prying, not even flickering a response in the direction of that small invasion.
Barricade is no coward, but he is too well versed in Decepticon politics to make of habit of letting himself be singled out as a tempting target. He is even less fond, however, of giving any of these slaggers any control over his fate.
// Agreed. I'd rather follow Scorpinok, // he replies.
Arms still crossed over his chest, he steps forward, Frenzy firmly still planted on his shoulder, claws flexing against his arms. "You have your Second," Barricade intones boldly.

"That is in contention." Eye-Fire says as he unfolds his arms and steps away from the wall he was leaning on.
"I bring myself forward as your second." Eye-Fire says once he's forward enough of anybody around him to stand out. This is a first fro him, vying for a position of power, and he wouldn't normally do so.
He has his reasons. Maybe he'll reveal them.

Blackarachnia decides to fill on. "Oh yes. Chaos? This is Waspinator. He likes to call himself Thrust, now." She shrugged. "I don't see the point much, myself."
And then the offer for a 2IC. Hmmm, extra security clearance...
"And what qualities would you be looking for in your second?" Blackarachnia asks. "Might I assume cunning, knowledge and ability to develop and implement relevant technologies, experience in infiltrating enemy defenses?" She poses as if she's counting things off on her fingers, but really, she only has two. "And honestly, Scourge," she gestures to Barricade with his little monkey thing running around. "Ruining such a fully-functioning unit by giving one of them command rank with all the time obligations that come with it? I think you might need to consider someone else in your rank."

Blackarachnia’s comment unsurprisingly results in a dark glair directed to her, then to Chaos Thrust clarifies: “Built from Waspinator. He was only good for parts and is not coming back.” Then, glancing over to Blackarachnia, he emphasises the point: “Ever.”
Thrust then shuts back up and returns to watching the others vie for a command position. He has absolutely no interest in trying to command these people.

OOC: I'm honestly just going to go ahead and interpret my own comment to mean 'radio me if you don't want to mention it now'. I can't think of any fairer way of handling this.
Scourge did get those tapes off of Needlenose, so he knows that Barricade was a dogged, devious opponent who would not give up. Such tenacity is admirable, albeit futile in the context of that particular match-up. Barricade is closely associated with frenzy, which is both a blessing and a curse, as far as Scourge is concerned. Barricade might just want the option to get in close enough to Scourge to push him off a cliff. He offers the perspective of an infiltrator and already gets along decently well with Frenzy. Eye-Fire offers less of a wildcard. He seems to be quite loyal, if perhaps a little overly reliant on the chain of command. Eye-Fire does not seem like a particularly good person to have around if one would ever want to entertain dreams of sedition, although he does seem to be overall less likely to have plans of his own. He offers the perspective of a scout and sniper. Blackarachnia certainly has spirit, and she seems to have a broader perspective than the others. However, she isn't actually volunteering, just asking for clarification. They asked for light in darkness, and Scourge shall provide. He explains, starting off dry, "Being able to follow directions would be nice. The ability to delegate is important; you need to be able to manage people and enforce discipline, if necessary. I am looking for a perspective different than my own to fill in the gaps." So any other commando saboteurs? Out of luck, sorry.
OOC: Frenzy's player says, "Oh, Frenzy is skippable in Black Repaints. Please tell people this."

Chaos merely chuckles beneath his breath at Thrust's comment, recalling datatrax about the wasp with the bad luck. The chameleon bot crosses his arms now, realizing that the second will not be chosen lightly. He, like Thrust, cares not to command these bots.
Whoever can keep him alive and killing gets a vote from Chaos. Kneeling down to observe the others, he reviews a few files from his memory banks. Nothing important, just trying to figure out how and why he got here to this certain reality. There are still a few things he doesn't fully understand.
Chaos switches from attentive to drowning in memory files every other few nano-clicks.

Enforce discipline? Is it not Frenzy and Barricade that Scourge had already been planning on handing certain of his... more recalcitrant members to for... "training"? With the infiltrators' eager anticipation, even.
Barricade quirks an optic at Eye-Fire, a far less intimidating figure than the imposing Scourge. What? Is Eye-Fire to be the softer side of this command structure? Scourge as the iron fist and the sniper as the Sensitive Second? Could Eye-Fire seriously stand up to anyone and assert himself for the good of the Unit?
And Blackarachnia, who attempts the subtle approach. Too subtle. Barricade tilts a briefly bored expression at the three of them before turning his gaze back to Scourge.
No impassioned speech, no urgent declaration of his fitness over the others', no derisive waving off of their skills or lack thereof. Scourge can either have the sneaky infiltrators in his pocket, or he can place a layer of distance between them, and his steady crimson stare says as much.

This was fragging different. Since when did the tin toy soldier want to give orders? Frenzy thought he was all about taking them from as many people as possible.
Well, why else would he let Shockwave muck around in his head?
Yes, Frenzy has been keeping an optic on that kind of thing. Gotta know which of the local scum are more dangerous than the others.
The little horror twists his head. "What's in it for Eye-fire?"

Barricade was correct in one respect. Eye-Fire doesn't look very physically imposing. Despite his height, he simply didn't look like he could smash your face through the back of your head while ripping you in two, and Eye-Fire was acutely aware that this was true.
But if you're basing how terror inducing or imposing he is, this is the wrong way to go about him. His brand of fear is fueled by dread uncertainty. Is he there in that rubble? Is he in that tower? Can he see us already? Is the rest of my squad dead? Where are they?
Am I about to die?
Barricade might be able to claim that his presence scares some Autobots, but there aren't many that can claim that their apparent lack of presence has sent some Autobots into screaming fits of terror with the possibility he's somewhere out there.
Eye-Fire ignores Frenzy, for now. He'll provide answers to those he wants, in time.

By the time Barricade has considered Blackarachnia's approach to be too subtle, she had already radioed Scourge in a particularly unsubtle method.
The conversation with the Predacons and Vehicons seems to have dulled down. Getting into a bickering match when you're trying to show how capable and deserving of rank you are is not one of those things that can be considered a Good Idea. Besides, Blackarachnia was removed from a point in her timeline where she doesn't know just how false the statement of how Waspinator was 'never' coming back actually was. "If you say so, Thrust."
To Scourge, she watches with a quiet confidence. She has said her piece, out loud and on radio. Now to patiently await any further instruction he might have.

Scourge considers. Does he take the relative safety that Eye-Fire represents and thereby short-change his own long-term plans?
Scourge has seen the CtF tapes. He saw Eye-Fire betray his own team at Hook's command. If Barricade betrays Scourge, at least it'll be because Barricade jolly well feels like it, not at the behest of someone else. That's what seals it for Scourge, really.
Barricade fits in better to any long-term plans that may or may not involve coups. That's all there is to it.
Scourge decrees, "Barricade, you have the spot. Eye-Fire, thank you, anyway."

Recovering from would closely be resembled as a flashback, Chaos slowly stands up as Scourge announces the second. He kindly holds back a wry smile as one of his colleagues loses his chance. In some weird, demented, mean way, the transmetal kind of found pleasure in that. He flicks a bladed salute at Barricade.
"Grats, black-n-white. Looking forward to it."
There is an odd sarcastic tone to the comment, if only because he is tired of just standing around talking about infiltration and sabotage, instead of actually doing it. He hasn't been on the field since he's arrived, so he would have to be forgiven for his anxiousness. Hopefully this anxiety of being couped up in confines will soon be remedied. The reptile lazily scans over the Decepti-army once more, pondering who he'd end up with.

Barricade may be a lying liar that lies, however, Scourge is no Starscream. If Barricade jolly well feels like betraying Scourge, it will probably be in the midst of his own coup and would likely have to involve his own Megatron and a few other mechanisms whom he is familiar with and trusts - insofar that Barricade trusts no one, really, but Frenzy. But at least those mechs from his own reality are predictable in their own ways. That's a type of trust, of a sort.
"Understood," he rumbles evenly, not even a hint of triumph or scorn for the losers in his tone. No need to antagonize tham all any further than he already has.
Yet.

And another change to Eye-Fire's loyalty routines. He hopes he won't have to go to Shockwave if this messes him up again, its too trivial to bother him.
Barricade appears to be competent for the position, and as such will receive no trouble from Eye-Fire. For his part, he chooses to remain quiet.
