This thread takes place sometime during Days 12-13, and is primarily for Decepticon-3 fliers. It is during the search for the Normalverse Autobots, but the Autobots won't be found in this thread - this is just for those who want to establish 'Con-3 interaction a bit more (we can find hints to narrow down the area to look, though). A flier does not have to be part of the team Fleetwind called out in "Light from the Looking Glass" thread to participate, as time has passed and the search teams might have gotten switched up since then.
Fleetwind, who had been flying along in alternate mode, maintaining a proper search, suddenly transforms into robot mode and cuts off his jets and anti-gravs, a huge grin on his face. He tastes freefall for a time, shouting with the joy of the experience. He waits until he's barely above the treetops to transform back, and then does so, throwing his rockets on and pulling up just in time for the very tops to brush against him, but nothing more.
He regains altitude until he's flying once more at the same level of the others, laughing. "Sorry about that, folks. I needed... something to shake things up for a moment. Don't worry, I know, I know. Back to searching!"

At Fleetwind's sudden transform and drop, Duskwing banked sharply and dove, guns hot and ready.
"What? Where? Are we being attacked--" The dark blue jet swooped up behind Fleetwind again, in time to hear his explanation.
"Jeez, thanks for scarin' the flame right outta my engines! I thought youse was gettin' ganked alluva sudden! Don't do that, sheesh!"
Duskwing sounded untypically cranky; he didn't like being frightened for his friends. What if Fleetwind had been attacked by one of the tricky local critters and it was up to Duskwing to figure out what to do? He'd mess it up for sure, and then it would be his fault if Fleetwind got killed. It wasn't very nice of Fleetwind to make him think that was going to happen, even for a moment. He flew along in silence, sulking for a bit.

“Wha-?!”
This? This is how a berkut looks tumbling nosecone over tailfins through the air after trying to turn too fast. Somewhere between one tumble and the next, Skystrike transformed and brought his guns to bear, uttering a string of startled curses and swears. Then it turns out that Fleetwind was alright. After a moment of blinking in shock at the yellow flier, Skystrike’s processor finally catches up and snaps out of its battle ready mode.
He idly listens to Duskwing’s ranting as he cuts the power to his guns and powered up his thrusters. Then he adds his own thoughts on the situation.
“Fleetwind, you slagging glitch son of the smelter’s creator. I am going to maul you!” Skystrike snarled as he made to tackle the other seeker although there was definitely a playful edge to his voice.

Fleetwind is tackles by Skystrike! His voice rings out in good natured laughter as he's caught, and at the reactions of the other two.
"'Sigma, you two, lighten up! I was just having a bit of fun!" He wriggles, trying to squirm out of Skystrike's grasp.
"I know times are harsh, but if we're so crushed we can't laugh anymore, the Autobots will have already won!"
OOC: Sorry about the delay. In giving time for people to post in, it kind of, erm, slipped my mind. >_>

Duskwing rolled and transformed, just so he could stare at Fleetwind. "Uh, what? That don't make sense."
He shook his head. "You're doing dat philo-philo--slaggit, what's the word? Philo-so-phi-cal stuff again. Gettin' all confusin'."
"Anyway," Duskwing brightened up, "I'm not crushed at all. I ain't got a dent on me!"

“Scaring us out of our shells is such a brilliant way of uplifting the situation.” Skystrike grumped halfheartedly as he continues to hold onto Fleetwind like an obstinate airborne limpet. No he’s not letting go, the pastel flier brought this upon himself for scaring them like that. Prepare to be clung to!
He doesn’t admit that Fleetwind has a point though, about the slow disappearance of laughter from their ranks and how even the skies can’t bring any shredded remnants of joy back to them on some days. He couldn’t admit that, not in a moment like this and especially not after one of Duskwing’s silly remarks. Skystrike instead turns his head slightly to peer at the other blue wingmate before answering.
“I do think he was speaking about it figuratively, Duskwing.” He says with a smirk, giving his bright yellow captive a light squeeze to emphasize his meaning.

"Hey, it's not my fault you two are so easily scared," Fleetwind replies jauntily, although he's still trying to squirm his way out of Skystrike's grasp.
"But yeah, he's right," Fleetwind looks at Duskwing. "I didn't mean physically crushed. I meant mentally and emotionally crushed."
He squirms a bit more. "Hey, you going to let me go anytime soon, or am I going to have to transform?"

Duskwing pondered this for a few moments while Fleetwind squirmed in Skystrike's grasp. That, too, was a haunting image--had Thundercracker struggled like that in someone's grip when he was captured?
"You mean like the Deadster?" he finally asked.

“Something like Deadster.” Skystrike answered with a slight shrug of his wings. “Star ought to go easier on him. I think he’s going to go neurotic with worry if our dear prince keeps on flying off on him like that.” He chuckled slightly before turning his attention back on Fleetwind.
“Awww, but you’re so much fun to cuddle with.” The berkut said sulkily but he lets the other seeker go. He has succeeded on his mission of being generally irritating anyhow.

"Hey, I know I'm good looking," Fleetwind grins as Skystrike releases him, "but you're going to have to get used to just looking." Once he's released, Fleetwind lets himself fall away for a moment before he twists in the air, activates his boot-jets, and then transforms back into jet-mode.
"And I wouldn't blame Starscream too much. He's just doing what he feels is right, what he was built to do. I know I can't blame him - I wouldn't want to be constantly hovered over, treated like some factory fresh who can't defend himself."

Duskwing followed Fleetwind's lead and transformed to follow him. "What's he do dat for? I don't remember the Stuntis bein' guards back home..."
He banked slightly to correct his course, lining up beside Fleetwind. "I ain't seen nothing in a while but farms. Ain't no Autobots out here. Ain't no Decepticons but us. Think dey all back at the Autobase?"
Duskwing flew on for a bit and then said, "Hey, if our Autobots is at the Autobase thingy, and dem other Cons is dere, who's at the Con Base here? Maybe dose other guys we's lookin' for?"

“I’d rather go chasing tanks. Less ego.” Skystrike snorted, doing lazy somersault as he transformed as well and took off after the other two, pulling up on Fleetwind’s unoccupied side. “And I didn’t say he should let himself be coddled like a factory fresh. Since when were we ever coddled like a factory fresh anyways? First thing I remember stepping out of the place was getting yelled at by an angry drill sergeant.” ‘Angry drill sergeant’ had been a seeker on the humongous side of the spectrum who’d had issues with Skystrike’s color scheme. It wasn’t his fault they’d run out of paint and left him white!
“Dusky, dearest, you don’t even remember the color of your own tailfins on some days.” He intoned with a teasing flex of his canards that made the rest of his frame do a silly midair bounce. ”But I think he’s a bit protective of Starscream because he used to protect Megatron in our timeline or something like that. And maybe because Starscream died in his time. Kinda. Sorta.” The Decepticons ended up having a ghost haunting their place for a while if he remembered Dead End’s story on Starscream's immortality correctly.
Pondering how that particular issue worked, he left Fleetwind to answer Duskwing’s questions until the latter brought up the issue of the other Decepticon base. "They're probably underground somewhere, you know? The Autobots love their tunnels."

"It's not ego when I'm being honest," Fleetwind counters Skystrike. "Besides, you're the one who had trouble letting me go," he teases.
To Duskwing, he says, "I doubt that the local Decepticons left their base completely unguarded any more than we left ours, and if they didn't, the local Autobots aren't likely to be there." He starts rolling as he flies, making sure to stay far enough away so as not to run into anyone, working simply to keep his flight path perfectly straight during a slow roll. "As for underground, the only large underground bits that I know of are our mines and that... thing up north." Fleetwind has no reason to know of the tunnels! "This is an organic world. They don't always build down."

"'Course I remember my tailfins! Dey's purple and dark blue, wit' the gray stripe," Duskwing retorted to Skyfire. 'An' I didn't mean Deady followin' Starscream around like he t'inks maybe Megatron's hiding in his pocket or somethin'. I meant how he's so gloomy all the time."
'Yeah, but dere might be clues," Duskwing persisted. "Maybe dey got prisoners or something! You got any better ideas?"

“Psh, that was just your unpleasantly static personality, Fleety.” Get it, static personality? No? Yeah, well, Skystrike thinks your double entendres suck too.
“Well, the earth critters often had quite an extensive waste disposal system in their larger cities although I’m not sure if they were ever big enough to accommodate any Autobot forces.” The blue jet murmured speculatively, tilting slightly to avoid Fleetwind’s slipstream. “Most of them looked too small to fit an average Autobots though but that’s only what I gleaned from a channel of the earthling entertainment network. They look just about as pleasant as their music sounds too.” He rolled so that his cockpit was facing Duskwing after that, humming lightly.
“You know, maybe you should go ask Dead End himself why he is so gloomy.” Skystrike rumbled amusedly. “I’m sure he won’t mind.” He was about to continue but any sense of mirth that’d burbled up along the course of the conversation abruptly shrivels up and dies after Duskwing mentions potential prisoners. For a few moments there’s a cold silence from the berkut, the jovial air about him vanished.
“That’s reckless, Duskwing. We don’t know how much of the enemy force was left behind to protect the ‘Con base.” Skystrike murmurs finally, his voice grim. “We can’t just storm the place and expect to get away without someone on the opposition sending a message to those at the other Autobase. Our alternates are jets, they can get back and hold us off until the rest of the enemy forces arrive to crush us. We won’t only have to worry about protecting any potential prisoners then, but we might also become prisoners ourselves or die and be useless either way. If we reveal ourselves now, even with the advantage of surprise, we won’t be much of a match against two armies.” He tilted away from his teammate once more, staring out across the expanse of open skies.
“Just wait a bit longer, till we find the other Autobots.” Skystrike’s deep voice broke into a low, seething snarl. “Then it’ll be our turn to crush them so completely they won’t even be able to object when we get back our teammates.”
