Omega Supreme replies to Skyfire, //Terrain: acceptable.//
The little crystals needle and prick, but they really feel to his thick armour as Velcro does to a human - annoying but not even enough to break the skin. The bigger crystals were simply crushed under his weight, something he rather regrets.
He sits in base mode, almost looking as if he belongs here.

"Secure yourself, Long Haul. There might be a bit of instability on landing, but nothing dangerous," Skyfire warned cheerfully. If Omega Supreme could land there without crashing through the crust, and considered it safe for Skyfire, it probably was. However, there might be a few bumps that the smaller spacer would notice more than great Omega...
There were. Skyfire hovered on his rockets, then slowly cut the throttle until his wheels touched down--and wobbled. Skyfire rocked himself, trying to get more stable 'footing', then cut power to his rockets. As his full weight came down on his wheels, the fragile crystals cracked and slid out from under them, and Skyfire's nose lurched abruptly downward before coming to rest. The left wheel slid sideways a few feet for the same reason while the right wheel punched straight down through broken crystal for another fathom before stopping.
"Whew! I'm down and secure now. Everything okay with you, Long Haul? As soon as you and your cargo are secure for vacuum, I'll lower the front ramp."
And when Long Haul was done unloading, Skyfire was going to transform and look at that crystal--and assist Long Haul, of course.

"Oh, crud!" Long Haul exchange. He scrambles out of his seat, then checks to make sure the cart of supplies and energon is properly secured. Then he scrambles back into his seat and hurriedly secures himself, too.
He waits out the bumpy landing, powerful hands grasping his restraint tightly. Once it's done, it takes awhile before he realizes he's being spoken to. "Oh, yeah, I'm good. Secured for vacuum and such." Once the hatch is opened and the ramp is lowered, he waits out equalization before unhooking himself, unhooking the cart, and pushing it down the ramp.
As he exits the ramp, he waves cheerfully at the Guardian. "Heya, Omega!"1
1 Technically speaking, he's in an area where sound should not carry. Therefore, either he is actually using his radio, or cartoon-sound rules apply. Whichever makes your head hurt less.

The tank turret of the tank sitting on the track slowly swivels toward Long Haul. It never points directly at Long Haul, but it points in their vague direction, and it pans up and down in greeting.
Omega Supreme watches them unload, but unless they are moving bulk materials, he can be of little use now. Instead, he just listens to the radio waves, bouncing and refracting.

Skyfire greeted Omega cheerily, "Good evening--Gillanan III base time, of course--Omega Supreme! Observed anything interesting up here?"
While he waited for Long Haul to unload his supplies, Skyfire studied their surroundings. At this range, his spectrometer was able to get returns; Skyfire contemplated what he learned about the moon's surface.
"Hmm... some kind of crystalline silicon dioxide with contaminants giving it the blue color and other interesting properties. I wonder how it formed? Crystals generally require a super-saturated solution and slow cooling to form... Either that, or someone built the galaxy's largest crystal radio set."

"Dunno," Long Haul answers. Such mysteries of science are beyond him. He looks around. "But I seen, well..." and then he trails off. It's not as though he's seen bigger crystals, but he's certainly seen plenty of rather large blue crystal. This is something, though, that Long Haul decides he'd rather not discuss just now.
He pushes the cart of supplies to a stop near Omega's tank segment, then walks over and does his best to hug the artillery piece. "Glad to see you, Omega."

Omega Surpeme is startled by the hug, and the cannon wavers in Long Haul's arms, before laying the barrel gently down on Long Haul's shoulder. The weight is meant to be reassuring, not a burden for the transport mech.
He has no intelligent reply to Skyfire's speculation. They're simply crystals, and they hurt him, even if he cannot feel them. He transmits a screed of positional data of various celestial objects to Skyfire, provided that Skyfire wishes to recieve it.

Once Long Haul was clear, Skyfire unfolded himself and stood up. He brightened at the data feed Omega Supreme offered him, and quickly accepted the transmission.
"Thank you, Omega! Much appreciated!" Skyfire smiled as he filed the data away in his memory banks for his processors to mull over during idle cycles. Out here would be a good place to get the readings for a proper interstellar navigation chart.
Skyfire knelt and sampled a few of the crystals for future study, then told Long Haul, "Let me know if you need help reaching any of Omega's upper structure."
"Have you gotten any visuals of the other moons?" Skyfire asked, curious. "Or noted any artificial satellites or spacecraft? We've found at least one non-native probe since arriving here, so there may be others surveying."

Long Haul leans slightly into the weight of the cannon set lightly on his shoulder, then draws away. "Hope you been doing all right up here by yourself," he says quietly.
At Skyfire's offer, he turns back towards the scientist and nods. "I probably will need your help, come to think of it. I'm a decent climber for my built, but I'm still a bit on the small side." He snorts faintly at this. In vehicle mode, he's a fair bit larger than your average carbot, but as a robot he's smaller. Ah, well. Helps him get into the small places while building better.
"First, let's get you fueled up as much as we can, though," the Constructibot tells Omega. "The more fuel you've got, the better your own self-repair systems can help things out." He grabs the cubes they had brought with them and opens a fuel port so that he can pour them in.

Omega Supreme's systems comes alive as the fuel is poured into him. His wounds, still raw and ragged, had dulled in pain as he has simply lost power to run the sensor nets in those air. A rush of pain jolts through him as those sensor nets wink back online. The whole base seems to shudder.
He replies to Skyfire, a hint of strain entering his tone, "Logs: inside," where he has pretty colour screens. To Long Haul, he assures, "Solitude: acceptable."

"Very well, just tell me what you need me to do," Skyfire replied to Long Haul. He walked carefully over the brittle crystal to Omega Supreme, studying him thoughtfully.
"I'll check those logs after Long Haul is done, Omega. What caused all that damage? It doesn't look like energy-weapon fire... more like some kind of melee attack." Skyfire gave him a puzzled frown. He'd missed that part of the fight, but what Decepticon was large enough to reach all the way up there on Omega Supreme? Surely the Decepticons hadn't managed one of the combiner teams!
And how did that work, Skyfire wondered. He'd read about Devastator in the files, but how did they solve the merged command and control problem? As he considered that, part of his mind continued processing Omega's celestial tracking that he'd sent to Skyfire, tracks that he matched up with his previous ephemeris and with the sky above his head. He already had spotted most of the planets of this system in his previous flight. Now he began to plot in the nearby stars.

"Well, not just yet," Long Haul answers Skyfire. "I'll take care of what I can reach, first. 'Sides, with our limited supplies, we're gonna have to rely a lot more on Omega's self-repairs than I really care for." The Constructibot scratches his head, apparently not pleased by this.
"I think I saw Omega fighting with a big... long... something," Long Haul says as he begins pulling tools and supplies off his cart and gets to work. "I was onna roof of the base dealing with the attackers there, though."

Omega Supreme replies, tone listless, "Aggressor: unknown. Form: worm."
He tore the Decepticon asunder, but he was not satisfied. There were Construticons there, and they went untouched. Besides, the Decepticon likely lived.

"Well, in that case... Omega Supreme, permission to come aboard?" Skyfire asked, looking at the giant Guardian-space rocket-base Transformer.
"Worm? The borer that broke into the city from underground and led the Decepticons in.... " Skyfire suddenly looked up, shocked. "That's Hellbender! He was a hideously damaged Seeker we found in the swamp--named Midnight, then. About all that was left of him was his CPU. I had this mining robot on board that Hook wanted to recover, and Hook used the mining worm as an body for an emergency CPU transplant to save Midnight."
"I'm sorry. I didn't know. I thought they were friends, back then." Skyfire stared down at the glimmering crystals. "Starscream had been my partner, and I remembered Hook as a most respected cybersurgeon. I did not know what they had become."

"If I had run into Hook first then when I arrived, Skyfire, I'd probably have been fooled, too." He opens up one of Omega's lower panels, and examines the damage. "Fooled, or worse, since they know they hadda be... hadda be reprogrammed to be made what like they are now."
"So, you know... can't say I really blame you for not knowing." He pauses and looks up at the Scientist before the other has a chance to go inside. "It's a pretty bad shock, I know," he adds softly.
Then he reaches back and grasps his tool kit. "That mining thing must be how that one group got so far in without being sighted," he notes as he works. "Something like that... we gotta be careful, be ready even for attacks that come from below. But there are things what can't be dug through. We'll get it worked out."
