Emirate Xaaron sobers. Apparently, good cheer and humour are not the keys to making friends and influencing people here. he needs to win this people over.
Quickly, he explains, "Perceptor has found what may be your Hook, Starscream. It seems that today is a day for reunions."

Elation. Jubilance. (Pleasant) surprise. Relief. Gratitude. It's Starscream's face, but what are these emotions doing on it?
"He.. I... I don't know what to say..."

So that's what Emirate Xaaron's question is all about! Good thing that Grimlock never got distracted by the group of not-evil Decepticons over here so he and Perceptor could find the one elsewhere!1
At Starscream's reaction, the young Prime's frown turns into a faint smile as he looks back and forth between Emirate Xaaron and Starscream. "Well, once we get confirmation on their status, I say we should get back to our planning."
1 It is assumed that Rodimus finished his nap during Perceptor and Grimlock's travel-time before heading to this meeting.

Emirate Xaaron reaches out and up to claps a hand on Starscream's lower arm reassuringly, and he looks up to meet the Decepticon's optics. he deems, "I am not one to put faith in luck, but even I must deem this an auspicious start to our alliance. Now, would your Hook likely be found in a, ah, crystal cage?"
He cannot quite appreciate the symbolism, there. If it isn't Starscream's Hook, then they have a third Hook running around, and he suspects that Omega Supreme will be cranky.
The sides of Emirate Xaaron's mouth curl slightly, and he nods, agreeing, "But yes, we should resume our planning."

Starscream smiles at Xaaron. "He would indeed... it's significant. What were the circumstances in which he was found?" He offers his radio frequency. "I'd appreciate contact on the matter from your Perceptor, too."
Argh, back to business. Okay. "As for planning, the issue of inter-personal trust is going to need to be addressed. Both parties bear the faces and names of the other's enemy. That we have members of our factions missing could mean that we have an opportunity to show a sign of trust and goodwill to our troopers. While I'm not one for ceremony, if this is handled right we can ensure that both factions have good intentions."

"We also need to come up with a consistant protocol to tell allies from enemies," Rodimus points out. "We've discovered that our alternates don't share our radio frequencies, so I suggest we go with that, but if anyone has a better idea, I'm open to it."

Emirate Xaaron inquires curiously, "How so significant? I will tell Perceptor to contact you. I believe Perceptor was out on a walk with Grimlock."
He muses, "I suppose we could do some team-building exercises, but I am not sure that we have the time." That, and his idea of 'team-building exercise' is 'paint Springer and the Triple-Changers up like Decepticons and have them beat the crud out of Impactor'.
Oh. He does so miss Impactor and the Wreckers.
"Radio checks seem reasonable, if a nuisance."

Starscream shrugs. "Radio checks will keep each other honest. If we offer hand signals or other gestures there's no telling who might see us doing them and replicate them. Best to keep the radio signals going as compulsory. If everyone has to do it, there's no issues of trust between our factions to establish who is and who isn't the real deal."
"We will have to make do with the time we have. Ensure any task of relevance to our mutual cause is carried out by both Autobots and Decepticons, as well as general security measures like patrols."

"You know, we could just all get new paint jobs," Rodimus Prime points out. "Granted, we'd still need to double-check using the radio, but if, say, someone's radio is taken out or something, this should work all right as a quick visual."
Welcome to Deadzone, where the evil, alternate universe Autobots have the familiar paint jobs and the good, normal Autobots get the new toy versions.
"When we're making up those tasks, Starscream, I want as much scouting done as possible. We'll need a list of locations where we've got the best chance of turning things to our favor. Mostly, we need to separate them as much as possible while keeping ourselves in as large a group as we can, especially against their Prime." He rubs his chin and frowns, muttering, "Too bad we can't just get his Matrix away from him for a bit."
Hey, it worked against him once! Although he did overcome the situation, so maybe that's a bad example...

Dead End's engine made a brief coughing noise, as if he'd gotten a bit of bad gasoline.
"About that, sir... Wildrider and I ran our Rodimus Prime off the road once, and knocked his Matrix loose. We had it for a while before Scourge--not the truck, our Scourge--made the mistake of trying to use it against the Autobots. He fell victim to its influence, alas, and Hot Rod was able to retrieve it," Dead End said.

Done speaking with Barricade, Botanica moves back to the group. She gives a small nod and smile to Rodimus and Xaaron, as if to say that things with Pee-Dee are well enough. She will fill them in on particulars once the planning is done with. Or once she can excuse herself and use her radio. Her expression turns thoughtful as she considers the topic of conversation.
"Would it be possible to force a situation which would cause that Prime to remove his Matrix?" she asks. She crosses one arm over her chest, then brings the other up and cups her chin, fingers tapping her cheek, "Though I honestly have no idea what might prompt such an action."

Emirate Xaaron has to point out, "And then what if the enemy got new-paints jobs too, huh?"
He may be Primus's advocate, but he'll moonlight as Unicron's to prove a point.
Emirate Xaaron muses, "Getting the Matrix out of him would certainly be useful. Perhaps if we severely injured one of the Prime's troops?"
It's the Creation Matrix. It heals people. Unless the crazy evil version doesn't.

Rodimus Prime eyes Dead End a bit warily at his interjection. "I... wouldn't rely on something like that happening, and I'm kind of surprised it did in your reality. I've been bashed up and knocked around pretty badly, to include blasts from Galvatron, starship crashes, and temporal vortices, and in all that the Matrix has never just popped free on its own. Maybe, er, there was a reason it wanted to, but that's not really something we can predict or plan for."
He looks towards Botanica and Emirate Xaaron. "That might work, but we'd have to figure out who's valuable enough to him to warrant that. Removing the Matrix to heal would make him vulnerable, even if he's not planning on letting it get far enough away to revert. The middle of battle wouldn't be the best time. A pre-ambush might work." Rodimus's tone is grim and tight as he speaks, his optics narrowed. There is a slight suggestion of distaste for what he's recommending in his expression and voice.
But then he adds, "As for the paint jobs, if they get new ones, we're no worse off than we are now. I'm not saying we should rely on it completely. But if they do... it also means they've been watching us, and that's useful information, too." Then he turns to scan over the others. "I suppose I should mention that my own color scheme tends to 'reset' on its own after a bit, though."

Dead End looked diffident. "The Rodimus of my reality was in truck mode, if that makes a difference--with a human hostage in his cab that we were trying to rescue. It did strike us as an amazing fluke."
He turned to look at his leader Starscream, face suddenly somber. "Sir, I am no intelligence expert, and Spinister probably has a much better grasp on these things, but it seemed to me that our reality's Perceptor may be the most valuable to that Prime."
He stepped back a bit further, as if embarrassed to have thrust himself in the spotlight so. --- skippable

"The best thing we have to experts on Rodimus' matrix would be my Needlenose and Spinister, They're all from the same world." Starscream says. He nearly had to remind himself not to add 'and Ratbat' to that list. "I believe there is the power to heal among its capabilities." Something else to fact-check on radio later. "As for valuable members, Perceptor is certainly a key member. Especially as the person who designed the technology that has brought them to this dimension. There are others--his spies, his warriors--but he tends to consider them disposable. Possibly, the exception could be Omega Supreme, who brings as much might to the Autobot table as anyone else."
