Duskwing unfolded back into robot mode after Makeshift exited the premises. "Huh? Oh, hey, Fleet's here!"
He loped toward the indicated entrance, making no move to stop Makeshift from clinging to his intakes if the Mini-con wanted to. // Comin' in! //

Makeshift is only clinging in the sense of using the magnets in his palms to hold on easier. Otherwise, he's steady enough to stand just fine. "Friend of yours?"
Duskwing may or may not notice the Mini-con sighing slightly. He had tried avoiding getting surrounded by Decepticons, and here he is hitching a ride on one right into the middle of it. Well, at least there's Autobots here too. Hopefully the good Autobots.

As the others approach the indicated entrance, they can see Fleetwind standing outside it, his arms crossed as he casually leans against the side of the arena, next to the rather large door.1 At the sound of the approach overhead, he looks up and offers a wave.
//All clear!// he replies.
1 It is assumed this thread takes place before the Friendly Spar.

Duskwing turned his head slightly to put Makeshift in view. "Huh? Oh, yeah! Fleetwind's cool. He's like, um, whaddayacallit? An aerobatic fighter, yeah, that's it. Awesome to watch."
Duskwing did not know what a min-con was, beyond "really short", and had no clue why Decepticons would want to grab one up. Makeshift's sigh passed unnoticed.
"Hey, Fleet! Dey stick you wit' door-guard duty?" Duskwing asked, grinning as he slowed down to a more casual saunter. "Whose guys already got here? Gotta me more'n you, me and the Boss. Oh yeah, dis here is Makeshift. He's one-a dem Micro-con guys, I think."

"Mini-con," Makeshift corrects absently. He actually prefers people not knowing what a Mini-con is. It rules out all kinds of bad things he'd rather avoid.
He gives a wave to Fleetwind. Apparently this build type is as popular here as the build his world's Starscream and Thundercracker use. "Hey."

'Popular' doesn't begin to describe it.
Fleetwind returns Makeshift's wave with one of his own, adding a wide grin to it. He nods towards Duskwing. "You got it!" He shrugs, and his grin turns sheepish. "A bit dull, but someone's got to do it. They also serve, and all that stuff, you know? Looks like this time around, I'm someone and they."

Duskwing looked almost shocked. "Whaddaya mean, I didn't get stuck with that job for once? Did Prime turn good or Dead End cheer up, too?"
He turned his face toward Makeshift again. "See, I usually get guard duty, 'cause nobody t'inks I can handle the other stuff." Duskwing scowled slightly. "Dat ain't true. I can handle stuff if you 'splain it. Trouble is, people 'spect me to just guess or somethin'."
The gray face of the Seeker turned back to Fleetwind. "Hey. Where's the Boss? I need to report to someone, get my orders."

Hey, pretty much every Mini-con mold has at least two uses. More depending on which continuities you want to include. Makeshift has a few "brothers", too.
Makeshift pats Duskwing's intake with his free hand. "For what it's worth, you seem like a decent guy to me." Even though they only met a little while ago. "I tend to get sent on patrols a lot, since we don't have too many fliers."

Fleetwind coughs politely. "Speaking of 'Prime turning good,' you might want to be careful about too many, erm, base assumptions. We're now allied with a Prime! Not sure where Starscream is at the moment, but I'm not sure what orders you'd have yet. They're still hashing out patrols, watches, things like that."1 He smirks. "I was nearby, so I got door watch."
"Right now, the standing orders are mostly of the 'hurry up and wait' variety for most of us, although they should be starting some patrols pretty soon. Heard some rumors about wanting to find good areas to set up ambushes and that sort of thing." He grins. "I can live with that. Even an ambush can be flashy if you know how to do it right. Terran song and literature tells stories of daring highwaymen and similar..."
1 In the interests of Not Having Everything Happening On The Same Day, as well as Allowing Time To Occasionally Move Forward, the Arena: Security Sweep and Arena: Command Discussion have been assigned different days (see the timeline post in the OOC Discussion forum). This thread is on the same day as the Security Sweep, unless I'm mistaken, not the Command Discussion.

Duskwing stared blankly at Fleetwind for a moment, then gave him a puzzled look as he worked his way through what the yellow Seeker had said. Enlightenment gradually dawned on his face.
"Yeah? So's I just gotta hang around for a bit? Huh. So who all is here already?" Duskwing asked curiously. He leaned forward and tried to look around Fleetwind.
"Yeah, you're cool too," Duskwing said to Makeshift.
"So what's he like, " Duskwing turned to Fleetwind again, shifting his weight from one foot to another. "What are dese Autobots like, and who dey got here?"

Makeshift considers telling them that his world has an evil Prime, but that was just a one-of clone. Hopefully. Besides, there's also Scourge. At least none of the evil Primes here are furry or spit fire.
"Not gonna be too much to do until our teams get used to not shooting at each other's symbols on sight," Makeshift shrugs. "Guess that pretty much puts us all on standby for now."
He falls silent as Duskwing asks about the Autobots. Partly because some might have come or gone since he flew off, partly to hear what Fleetwind has to say about them, and partly listening for any names that match his reality. He really doesn't want to get paired with anyone who can powerlink.

The pale yellow Seeker tilts his head to think. "They've got that Micromaster with the odd name, and he has the dragon. Apparently theirs is a bit tamer. The wild child is less psychopathic and more lyrical, and their Bumblebee has a fondness for Terran music. Kup was in here earlier - he's a bit grungier than ours - but he left awhile ago. Some of our guys are inside, too. Blackout, Cannonball, and Midnight. I think they're just checking the arena for bad spots and such. The organics don't always built with robots four or more times their height in mind, after all!"

"Huh. Okay, I'm just gonna go in and check things out for a bit," Duskwing said, meaning 'I'm going to go hang around and watch other people work'.
He gave Fleetwind a quizzical look, then frowned. "Yeah, I seen that. Back at our base, see. Kinduva pain; they shoulda thought a' dat. Wheelie sings?"

"That'd be Holi and Tiny," Makeshift says of the Micromaster and the dragon. "And Wheelie tends to talk in rhyme a lot. Dunno why."
The local structures haven't been much trouble for him, but then, he's a lot lighter than a Seeker.

The warmth behind Fleetwind's friendly smile briefly fades to a surprised blankness as Duskwing complains that the natives didn't do their building with Seeker's in mind. The smile is still there, but it's frozen in place, backed by that uncertainty that someone can really be this... dense. Finally he comes back to himself, and just nods. "Perhaps they should have," he allows politely, with the unspoken But probably not hanging in the air. "Unfortunately, there's little to be done for it now."
He looks down towards Makeshift and nods. "Holi and Tiny? That sounds about right. And yeah, he's right, Wheelie more rhymes than sings, but it's... singsong, for the most part."
"But if you want to check things out for yourself," he gestures towards the arena entrance, "be my guest."
