OOC: Takes place on Day 3 of Small Plots. Semi-private, ask before joining, etc. ---------- Behold!
The grand leader of the elite strike team known as The Wreckers! He is strong! He is gallant! He is...
Bedridden. And hating it. Slaggin' doctor's orders. For the moment, he's just been stabilized, and some preliminary work has been done to his gimped leg to set a frame for the calf part, and a new joint has replaced the old. Good enough to walk on, probably. Not gonna risk it, though. Stressed medics are one thing that Springer would rather not face. He'd rather go up against Thunderwing again.
So, for now, he's working on a datapad brough from home on his personal logs of the events here, as well as a report on his exploits in the battles.

See? Rodimus Prime really is personally checking on all the injured.
Well, all the injured that either he shot or are alternates of personal friends from other realities.
Rodimus ducks his head, stepping into the area of tunnel that's been designated for medical recoveries. Of course, he doesn't look too grand himself, lacking paint over most his body (his face is still silver and his hands are still orange) and missing his spoiler. Still, he's recognizable as Rodimus Prime.
And, in fact, probably recognizable as Hot Rod as well.
"Springer. Hey," he greets.
OOC: This thread takes place after Rodimus's participation in Prime Apologies.

Arcee actually had managed to escape the large battle without any major injuries, though she's got several minor ones that will eventually need to be attended to.
So until then, she'll just have to deal. In the meantime, however, she can check on some of the others. Like Springer. Even if he's not "her" Springer, he's still "a" Springer, and thus a refreshing bit of familiarity.
"Oh!" she says, surprised to see Rodimus here. "Didn't know anyone else was visiting."

Springer looks up from his writing when Rodimus walks in, optics flicking in a confused blink. It takes him a moment to figure out who it is, due to the lack of paint.
He is also confused by the appearance of the Prime, and thus inquires to his intentions. "Hey, Ho--er, Rodimus. What bring you out her--"
Then Arcee comes in, and his confusion is slightly heightened.
Oh, wait. These two mentioned being close to their universes' Springers, didn't they?
"Lemme rephrase that" he says with a chuckle. "What brings the two of you out here? Making sure I'm not disobeyin' doctors' orders?"

Rodimus winces, faint but visible, as Springer slips and almost calls him 'Hot Rod.' His optics flash, though, and he smiles faintly as Arcee arrives. Very faintly. While part of him thinks back to that dance only a few weeks past, Arcee's presence here really suggests that history intends to repeat itself.
The Prime smirks faintly at Springer and leans casually against the wall. "That's right. I heard you had been bedridden, and I had to see for myself - I just couldn't believe the idea of a Springer actually staying where he's supposed to be until I saw it with my own optics."

Arcee actually laughs at that, briefly returning Rodimus's smile. Both of these two are so much like the people she knew, but clearly quite different as well. It's still rather disconcerting. Make no mistake, she was not--or so she told herself anyway--looking for any romance in her life. She hadn't been even back before she'd been brought her. But Hot Rod--Rodimus--and Springer were friends of hers, good friends. They'd served together for a good while now.
If she could recreate some of that friendship here, that would be enough.
"Pretty much the same thing," she agrees. "I can't tell you the number of times First Aid had to practically chain Springer to the med-bay to get him to stay until he was recovered."

Springer blinks at Rodimus' wince. It's a touch confusing at first, but it makes some sense, sort of. Springer can't help it, though. He's only known him as Hot Rod, and has only been here a few days. Adjusting will take time.
However, he does chuckle at the reasons for them showing up, and smirks. "Just because I am staying here doesn't mean that I like it. If there was more that I could help with, I'd be beating my way out of here, believe me." He sighs, saving his files and putting his datapad aside. "Plus, gives me time to write up a report on the whole thing."

Rodimus opens his optics wide in shock that's only partially faked. "You do reports? Seriously?!"
He looks down at Arcee and quirks a wide but crooked grin, gesturing towards Springer as he speaks.
"I wonder if I can trade mine in for this one," he jokes with the female.

"Better check his spelling first, Rodimus," Arcee tells him. "I'm not sure Daniel's grades ever recovered after my Springer helped him with his homework once."
She might be joking.
"Can we get you anything to ease the boredom?" she asks Springer.

Springer smirks at Rodimus, crossing his arms. "Well, it's not often that I do them. Really only if something out of the ordinary happens...so I'll probably be doing reports over the entirety of my time in this dimension...and was doing them right before I got yanked here." He headtilts, then shrugs. "More of a personal log, I guess."
Springer then gives Arcee a look of fake hurt. "Aw, c'mon. My linguistics programming is properly patched!" he answers to the accusation, but can't help a grin. "I think I'm good. Just a waiting game now."

"Oh, if out of the ordinary situations are what lead you to writing reports, I'm all for the swap," Rodimus answers cheerfully. "Out of the ordinary is the ordinary where I'm from."
Rodimus looks for a moment between Arcee and Springer. To Rodimus's mind, the three are old friends, and old friends shouldn't be this awkward. But these 'old friends' are from three different realities and three different sets of experience. On one level, they all feel familiar, on the other, he can't get past one fact: they're really strangers.
"Well, at the very least, I can see about getting the public files from the database transferred to that datapad of yours," Rodimus gestures. "That way you can spend the time getting caught up with the situation."

It is awkward, but they're trying to make it less to. That's what really counts. Both Rodimus and Springer seem much more... militant than the ones she's used to. In fact, in general, her reality seems to be a little less harsh than several of the others. But that might just be homesickness.
"Couldn't be any stranger than where I'm from," she says.

At least Rodimus and Arcee have something over Springer - they know each other and him in their home realities. These two really are strangers to him, even moreso than normal. Hot Rod is just someone he knows of back home, and Arcee is an (as of yet) unknown person.
Springer chuckles again, holding up his hands at Rodimus. "This place is crazy enough, so I'll pass if your home dimension is even loonier." He then shakes his head, sighing. "Though I think that evil-us-good-Decepticons mess trumps all I've seen."
Then Arcee comments, and he looks over. "Well, if we're discussing it, what's the strangest thing you've had where you come from?"

"Actually, evil versions of us..." Rodimus begins, then tilts his head to consider. All right. Are evil versions of them any crazier than (A) Goldbug the toy car? (B) Time Wars? (C) Grimlock In Charge? (D) Removable heads, (E) Being Unicron?
Rodimus decides not. "Evil versions of us are pretty crazy," he allows, while not saying that it trumps home for weirdness. Because really. Hypnotic carwashes.
As Springer challenges Arcee, though, Rodimus grins and turns towards her. "Good question. What is the strangest thing you've had to deal with?"

Arcee considers this, putting a finger on her chin. "Now that is a good question."
She'd seen a lot of things since coming to Earth, after the Decepticons had finally driven the last bits of Autobot resistance from Cybertron. Heck, she'd seen a lot of strange things on Cybertron too. "Bruticus using Shockwave like a handgun," she said after a moment. Prime had kept the female Autobots out of that fight, holding them in reserve, but they'd stayed on observation all the same.
