"Predacons that aren't related to Razorclaw and his buddies? Not the strangest thing from this dimension, but still a bit unexpected."
Aw, don't worry about Springer stealing Arcee away, Rodimus! Springer's still learning about girls. It'll be a while before he decides to go after them! After all, he's gotta go through the "Ew, cooties!" stage first.
Then Springer glances to Rodimus. "Yeah, I'm good for now, but thanks."

Rodimus hesitates before he heads out. "That's right. Not connected... but... the Predacons are another combiner team in our reality, and yet you..." he trails off and shrugs. "Hey, Springer, I think they're trying to get the database up and running again. If you're in here for a little while longer, anyway, I'd appreciate you doing an entry on your reality."
With that, he touches his forehead in a sort of lazy salute, turns, and heads out.
OOC: Out of thread.

"Take care, Rodimus," Arcee says, giving him a little wave as he departs.
"I'd be interested in hearing more about it too," she tells Springer. "It seems... very different and very the same. At the same time. Weird. Er... no offense."

Springer returns the the informal salute with one of his own, momentarily tapping one finger on a flat-open hand to his forehead, then waving it out before his attention turns to Arcee.
"No offense taken" he says with a bit of a grin. "Just, where should I start? Anything specific you're curious about?"

"Hmm... You said there were no female Transformers where you came from, right? So I guess I can't ask what your version of me is like," Arcee muses.
"How'd the war start for you guys?"

Oooh, history lesson time!
"Well... It started with Megatron. He used to be involved in old, illegal gladiatorial fights. He rose up from there, banding together a bunch of disgruntled combatants to overthrow us Autobots. We were the government's peace-keepers at the time...and apparently, there were some very vocal and powerful dissenters."

Megatron. It always starts with Megatron. (Or in her case, the most recent incarnation of the Great War, at least) Somehow, Arcee isn't surprised in the least.
"So... not all Transformers were Autobots or Decepticons?" she asked.

"No. Used to be we were just Cybertronians. Autobots were a special group, the security forces as I mentioned... Apparently, some of the citizens didn't like them that much. Megatron rose up, created the Decepticons, and drove the security guys out of Kaon and took it over..."

"Okay, now that's just weird," Arcee says. "Especially with what Kup told me about our reality. With Autobots and Decepticons coming from different product lines."
True, they were all Transformers, but the Autobot-Decepticon division was much more clear when it was also one of design. Incompatible from the first, it made it easy to reduce the conflict to us vs. them. But if they were all the same and ideas the only difference, well...
"Not too different from us. By the time Optimus left Cybertron with a crew to look for energy, the Decepticons had all but won the war."

"Product lines? That's what we are in your reality?" Springer asks, cocking an optic ridge. "Kind of a grim origin, that..."
"Energy problems...that seems like a constant among the realities as well."

Arcee nods. "I don't understand it all, really, but Kup says the ancestors of the Autobots were domestic goods and the ancestors of the Decepticons were military products. Of course, by now or close enough to what now might be, anyway, that's more or less fallen by the wayside."
What, with people like Powerglide or Warpath, or even, really, the Stunticons. One could hardly count alternate mode and general build any more. Even if the thought did make it easier, it didn't hold up to logic.
"Makes more sense to me than the stuff about Primus and Unicron and light gods and all."

Springer ponders this origin of being a product, but decides to overlook it for now, and change the subject. His player is changing the subject because IDW has not been kind enough to yet give the Transformers' origins yet.
"Eh? Unicron and Primus? I've heard the names a few times while I was here, but no one has explained them to me yet."

Arcee shakes her head. "I don't get it all either. But from what I do get, at least in some of the realities, Primus is the creator of the Transformers. Some kind of god who inhabits Cybertron. And Unicron is this monster planet that devours others planets."
...Made about as much sense as anything else, really.

"...a planet-eating planet?"
Springer ponders this.
"I'm not sure what's worse - that, or having Sixshot rain down the fires of the pit on the planet so the Decepticons can suck the resources dry."
