Chronological note: This thread takes place after all Autobot training threads and CtF threads. It takes place after 'The Odd Couple' thread. It also takes place about a week after the "Perceptor Updates Kup" and the "Not a Smoke Break" threads.
Across the continent from the Autobot base, in a city discovered some months ago by Jetstorm, the location where Shockwave first met with the Vehicon and the yellow Seeker, a light that shouldn't be there comes into being. It shimmers for a moment, crackling with electricity, casting its blue-white glow against the metal streets. The light brightens, then gets larger, taking the shape of a flat, thin oval. It hangs in the air, and if one looks into it from head on, one seems to see the faint, shadowy traces of somewhere... not there. Shadows coalesce, and one grows larger in the portal until part of it breaks through. A loud clank rings out as one large red and silver foot is placed on the metal road of the abandoned city. It is followed swiftly by the other one. Rodimus Prime narrows his optics, clasps his hands behind his back, and surveys the area, a deeply satisfied smile painting his features. Perceptor has done well. The transdimensional device is a success, and now he has not one, but two universes open before him. For a moment, a brief shadow of uncertainty falls across his expression. They never were able to determine exactly where Emirate Xaaron and Swerve had got off to. It was assumed that they had sought asylum from Starscream, but they had yet to hear confirmation. But no. The chances that they had instead made their way to this grand new world were so slim as to be discounted, and even if they had, it changes nothing. There is nothing here that can stand against the Autobots. The Prime smiles back at the troops whom he had elected to bring with him. 1 "We're here," he says coolly, enunciating each word carefully, "and the Decepticons are not. This sounds like a prime opportunity to enjoy ourselves. But I'm willing to entertain recommendations, for the moment. So, shall we take the methodical approach, and actually search out the locals, see what they have, and take it from them, or would you rather see this city burning here and now?" 1 OOC Note: Any Autobot-3 players can claim to have been one of the chosen troops simply by posting in. Well, except for Xaaron-3 and Swerve-3. You guys are on Rodimus-3's bad list. As a further note, anyone from the Decepticon normal-verse faction is free to 'just happen' to be in the area to witness their arrival through a glowing portal.
As a further note, this marks the 'first wave.' From this point on, any Autobot-3 can post into threads that make sense to them. For now, the Autobots have free reign to travel back and forth. In a couple of weeks, however, that will change, and the Autobots will be cut off from their alternate universe, meaning that any Autobot-3 that hasn't posted in by then will be stuck in the other reality. We'll give you guys four days notice before that actually happens.

The next boot to set foot in the abandoned city is a rusty brown and clearly divided into a toe and heel. Pseudo-belts and buckles in lurid red run up in bands from the ankle to her knee, sawtooth designs carved to match the jagged saw pattern running around her wheels.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, you feel it. C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, you see it. C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, you want to make it all right,"1 Pee-Dee sings as she steps fully out of the portal. Seems some people on the other side are feeling a little reluctant to trust their bodies and minds to one of Perceptor's devices. She beckons back at the portal impatiently; pseudo-belts and buckles in the same lurid red run from wrist to shoulder on her arms.
She scans the area by habit, then makes an annoyed sound. "You'd think that stepping through the mirror would give us cities with people in them, and not more abandoned ones. Dull. Let's set it on fire and see what kind of moths we attract."

From the portal emerges another foot and leg, this one silver-gray up to the knee, then red up the thigh. The mech who claims that leg emerges fully from the portal, silver and red and black gleaming in the shimmering energy given off by the portal. The mech's face is still and expressionless, the blue optics narrowed just slightly as if their owner were lost in thought.
Bluestreak stands a little to Rodimus Prime's side, his ion-pulse rifle cradled in his arms and one finger stroking the trigger as if he were stroking a cat beneath its chin. He says nothing in reply to the Prime's question, only nods once in silent agreement with Pee-Dee. Let it burn... let it burn as the Decepticons let his city burn... and let him be there to pick off anyone who may come to investigate the ruins. His hands itch for a target to present itself.

Skyblast bounces through the portal and looks up at the sky contemplatively, stilling himself. He murmurs, "It's too purple."
To his leader's question, Skyblast flings out his arms and eagerly answers, "The lady has the right idea. Burn it. Burn it all."
Then the sky will have a grey haze to it from the smoke. Much less gaudy. Honestly, purple? It's yet another world to remake in their own image, and Skyblast is almost giddy from the thought of it. He can't wait to get started redecorating. Hopefully the natives here make interesting splatters when dropped from 20,000 feet. Skyblast feels in the mood to attempt some Pollock.

There's precious little to distinguish the blue and yellow mechanoid who steps through the portal from the one who's already been there. Perhaps something subtle in his bearing, the trace of being a bully more than a protector, but one would be hard pressed to truly tell the two apart.
"Burn it to the ground, Prime," he says. "And when they come a-runnin', we make 'em an offer dey can't refuse."

An extremely large white, blue and red bot is the next being that steps through the portal. He holds a large, double-barreled cannon in his right hand, currently with the barrels leaned back against his shoulder and the muzzles pointed at the sky. Skyfire glances back impatiently at the mech following him, then turns to Prime.
"Aw, cripe, Prime, can you at least wait until me and the pet check it over for valuables? Looks like a city, might be some significant cultural artifacts in the major buildings," Skyfire says.

Directly after Skyfire arrives a light blue mech, winged and sleek in build... a build that would draw instant animosity from the Autobots were it not for the tall white mech's presence. The Seeker exhibits none of the pride and grace that normally befits his kind -- he walks with a slump to his wings and a head held low like that of a whipped turbohound. His wings bear no sigil, neither Autobot nor Decepticon. They are completely blank, marking his status among these mechs as a nobody. Property. Less than a prisoner -- a pet.
He knows his place, and he does not speak before the Prime. Instead he stands just behind Skyfire, both out of obedience and as protection from the other Autobots present -- for he knows just how cruel they can be when they get in one of their moods.

While Rodimus Prime is certainly capable of remarkable cruelty, he is also known to reward behavior that pleases him, behavior of the sort that his very presence seems to encourage in most mechanoids.
And this behavior, right now? This pleases him.
The Prime smiles, immensely pleased with the bloodthirstiness his troops are showing. That smile fades but slightly when Skyfire requests a stay of execution, so to speak. Rodimus lifts his right hand and gestures out toward the city. "Then you'd better work fast, Skyfire. The crowd has spoken. They've cried out for flames, and I'll see that they have them." The raised hand sweeps across the landscape. "It's a large city. Just make sure you're not in the portion the others are igniting."
Rodimus turns towards the others and smiles, warm, cruel, and beguilingly. He nods his head. "Well, you've stated what you want. Go after it. It's the darkest hour of the night. Time to bring it light."

Slingshot smirks and reaches out to touch Skyblast's shoulder. If the other jet turns to look at him, he jerks his head towards the more southerly portion of the city.
If not, he'll just follow the little jet. He's been doing that most of the time since he wound up in this hellhole.

Pee-Dee claps her hands together in delight. "You always were the best, Rodimus."
The little bit of engine growl that leaks its way into 'best', the flicker of her optics... A girl has needs. More cop shows. Cold, hard cash. Weapons to make other people's lives more painful.
Her shotgun appears in her hand, and she pumps it to load a shell into the chamber, then points it at a random direction of the city and fires.
The shell arcs high in the air, then explodes on impact against a distant building. The boom of the explosion sounds like distant thunder, and soon bright flames lick at the sky.
Pee-Dee laughs in sheer delight at the spectacle, then transforms and takes off to examine her handiwork.

Success, and the sweet flush of thrill that comes with it; the tall, red scientist hovering near the back of the group had had no doubt about the outcome of this little sojourn, however, the physical response to actually seeing the result is as inevitable as their arrival in this verdant canvas. Perceptor smiles, a thin, calculating expression as his gaze sweeps over this new, and yet familiar, landscape.
"Indeed," he murmurs, hands clenching and unclenching with anticipation as he sweeps another look from horizon to horizon. "Release a conflagration to flush forth new quarry."
He's been so busy working on the portal device for Rodimus that he hasn't gotten to vivisect anything in weeks. Time to find a new subject to tinker with - his optics flicker briefly toward Skyfire's latest pet. Such a wonderful success that had been. Perhaps fortune will smile upon him and supply him another such to study.
In the middle distance, a building trembles under the onslaught of a beam of concentrated light. Time to flush what quarry there might be.

Slate grey hands slip through the portal first and Synapse practically glides into the new world. Fresh, this world is quite undisturbed. Not for long if he hears all this talk of burning correctly--no wait, it's already begun. A small frown appears on the minibot's face and standing still, there's no way to tell the difference between him and the Autobot scout that's already been in this world. But as he moves further away from the portal, that smooth saunter definitely would seem out of place.
He doesn't care for this open destruction. Leave that to the bigger mechs with their greater firepower. Synapse prefers breaking things on a smaller scale. Where are the Decepticons when you want them? For a moment, he's torn between staying and reveling in Rodimus Prime's presence; shadowing Perceptor; and making his own path into the air. Decision, decisions...
A few moments later, a small green shuttle is taking off into the air as two black orbs zip ahead. He'll make a quick circle around the city for anything interesting before flying off. He wants someone, not something.

For the first time since arriving here -- indeed, perhaps for the first time since he's been around many of these mechs -- Blue's lip curls in a slight smile. He's waited too long for this.
He turns and fires his shoulder missiles at a cluster of taller buildings, and his slight grin turns into a full-fledged smile as they connect and blossom into flame -- a smile full of insane pleasure. Once upon a time his own city fell like this. Let this one pay the price. It won't bring those he lost that terrible day back... but it will bring sweet revenge.
Too bad there aren't actual Decepticons to destroy here... yet.

Thundercracker really, truly disgusts Skyblast. Decepticon jets are pretty, in their way, but they're such wastes of potential. Jets are meant to reave the air and lay waste to the ground. The only good thing to do with a Decepticon jet is to tear him apart and make him a burning effigy in the sky to misused resources. Skyblast just kills people, in painful, messy fashion. Skyfire, here, is the really cruel one, to make that Seeker, already a fragging waste, into a deeper sin against nature, a simpering pet.
At least, according to Skyblast's twisted mind, Skyfire is. The little jet rather hates and fear the big white one, truth be told. He'd like to stab a blade into his back, given the chance, and if the explorer ever thinks to put Skyblast on a leash, well, Skyblast will see that they both die, if he must, before that happens.
He does feel Slingshot's tap, and he turns back to Slingshot, his golden optics alight like the setting sun, just as the sun will set upon this world perhaps for good, once they're done. He beams up at the larger jet and rocks back on his heels before bouncing into his jet form and taking to the air.
OOC: Out of the thread.

A whole new universe to rob, pillage, plunder, and break a few kneecaps? Nightbeat was in gangster heaven. And being turned loose to do as he wanted? Even better.
And maybe time to check out what that moll was doing.
"Time to get medieval on this city's aft," he says, firing off a few shots and taking off in vehicle mode.
