Needlenose doesn't quite irritate Skyblast on the level that Fleetwind does, but it's close. Almost makes Skyblast ashamed to call himself an artist and a jet.
The feeling is brief, however, and is quickly replaced by a strong desire to just slice Needlenose in two. Skyblast can't indulge that desire, because he's the Prime's dog, and he must flush the prey out for his master. Gag. The other one appears to me a Seeker of some sort, which is just plain boring. Slash, slash, scream, splat. They're all the same!
He pops off some shots with his cannon, trying to herd the Decepticons down into range for the one chosen to end the world in fire.

Duskwing banked and circled back to Needlenose's course, wing man to wing leader Needlenose. That's when he spotted the Aerialbot on Needlenose's tail.
// BOSS! Slingshot on your six! // Duskwing cursed as the Aerialbot opened up with his mortar cannon. Those were the air-launched rockets he'd seen in the distance. Duskwing added less-vocal, but still noisy commentary to Slingshot's presence as he opened up with his laser cannon.

Rodimus has been steadily watching the sky, and now the light of missile fire draws his gaze. He grins in anticipation and raises his photon eliminator. Even as he does, his trailer-mounted cannon also swivels.
Both fire towards the lead Decepticon.

Duskwing's alert comes at approximately the same time that his own warnings go off, and Needlenose is able to jink up and out of the way of the motor-fire just in time, though they do pass close.
//Incomplete, slag-sucking, dog-poor excuse for a dogfighter!// Needlenose screeches over a low-power general frequency as he pulls a tight turn, leading to complaints from his passengers. //You call that a projectile, you pathetic waste of metal? Eat proton, bootleg!// and with that he lets loose one of his proton missiles before diving to try to climb above the Aerialbot.
Then, not one but two high-powered blasts from below interrupt him. One passes in front of his nosecone, but the other takes off a piece of the tailfin. And that was not a solid hit.
Needlenose howls in pain, then radios Duskwing.
//Okay. We've got an estimation of their numbers: too many for us at the moment, and definitely hostile. God, but I think that's Prime below! Let's get out of here!//

Bliiiiiiiiink.
That was uncharacteristically- Slingshot groped for a word as he let the missile chase him down deeper into the city. That was weird for Needlenose. Seriously weird.
Maybe his pets had died, or something.
Slingshot jinked and dodged through buildings, cutting it finer and finer on the corners until the missile plowed into a building. And then the world went white.

//When did you learn how to swear, copper?// Skyblast taunts back.
At Slingshot's trouble, Skyblast feels a surge of concern. It might seem odd to someone who knows him peripherally, how he seems to view anything that moves as material for his art. However, Skyblast knows that Slingshot isn't a person. He's a weapon, a tool. An artist may go through materials like water, but tools are to be carefully kept and maintained. A good tool is an artist's very best friend.
Ironically, it is this cold dehumanisation that allows Skyblast to care about Slingshot at all. It's hard for him to resist the urge to dive down and check on white Harrier. However, the Prime can make both their lives miserable. Instead, he pulls after the Seeker and opens fire on him, trying to drive him down.

Huh. Needlenose talks in battle just like Duskwing does. Who'da thunk it? Duskwing finds himself regarding the officer in a slightly better light. The two Autobot jets seem to be ignoring him--
Shells hail past from above. Wait, they're not. Duskwing breaks off from his pursuit of Slingshot as the latter goes diving into the buildings, firewalls his throttle and climbs into a Split-S. He hits the roll-out with his nose pointed somewhere at the other jet. He opens fire with his lasers again. // Boss, I'm comin' around at your ten. Skyblast is at my twelve. //

Rodimus narrows his optics to try to get a good look at the fight above. Is the one retreating? No, we can't have that.
The trailer-cannon fires again, not far forward of Needlenose.

//Roger, I see him,// Needlenose replies, holding his missiles in check for the moment. //Try to disengage for withdrawal,// he orders, while he attempts to do the same thing. Two new fliers taking to the air catch his attention, however. //Duskwing, see if you can confirm. To the west, does that look like Skyfire? May explain how they go- ... is it just me, or is that Thundercracker flying with him?//
As he flies, he tries to make a report to his ranking "S" men, but a shot across the nose, one that comes entirely too close for comfort, so close that he can feel the heat burning away at his paint, interrupts him.

Slingshot transformed to drop below the shockwave of the explosion. Now he cruises sideways between buildings as he tries to find Needlenose again. Synapse's new coordinates guide him, and the Harrier pulls back above the roofline.
Not too far above, since he's trying to chase down the same mech Rodimus Prime is shooting at. He wouldn't put it past the Prime to indulge in some friendly fire.
His afterburners kick in as he attempts to pull ahead of Needlenose and cut off the jet's escape attempt.

Skyblast uses an electro-discharge cannon, so he's basically shooting lightning at people. Despite airplanes being Faraday cages, this still does damage if it hits, somehow. The Valkyrie nimbly ducks and weaves away from Duskwing's fire. He's small, built for agility, and he's spent his whole life pushing his limits, slitting open his own envelope.
Slingshot seems to be after Needlenose. He'll let Slingshot have more fun today and stick with the Seeker. At least he can get rid of some of these mass-produced morons, if the Prime doesn't first. The Valkyrie attempts to follow onto Duskwing's tail and snaps off quick bursts.
Over the low-powered general band, he heckles, //So which one are you? Oh wait, it doesn't matter! Because you're all the same - dead!//

Duskwing may not be the brightest candle in the chandelier, but he does know basic dogfighting. The fundamental principle of dogfighting is "Point your nose at the enemy without letting him point his nose at you".
There's just one problem--Skyblast is hellishly maneuverable, and makes an F-15 look like a B-52 maneuvering. Especially an F-15 that doesn't have lifters to provide vectored thrust. Oh, and some guy on the ground is shooting at them, too.
Skyblast's lightning lashes and singes Duskwing's tails; the damage to his rudder actuators doesn't help his maneuverability. For once, however, his orders make a great deal of helpful sense.
Back at Skyblast on low-powered General: // Aw, go suck slag down your intakes and have turbine failure! I wanna see what kinda art you make cuttin' your own guts out with all those flying blades! //
To Needlenose, secured channel: // Yes, sir, boss. How 'bout nose to sky and afterburners on, boss? //
Duskwing demonstrates his advice by pulling up sharply, firewalling his throttle, and cutting on the afterburners. Depending on Skyblast's speed, he may not leave the pest behind, but at least he'll ditch the groundpounders well before he hits his service ceiling.

Boring. Boooooring. The flyboys appear to be having all the fun.
Rodimus narrows his optics, and considers firing on one of them, instead, but then reconsiders. If there's two Decepticons in this world, there are probably more of them. If these two run home, the whole group has more time to recover and prepare. If they kill these two now, the others may risk themselves to recover the bodies... or they may decide not to risk lives for the dead. If, however, they keep these two, let them call back for help, then cut them off, they have the best chance of drawing the others out.
He turns his radio on to provide the two jets with updated orders, then adds some for Synapse.
OOC: You can consider Roddy skippable for now, as he's rather far and away from the action.

The fact is, while Needlenose may prefer to fight from the sky, these two have him beat on both skill and maneuverability in that environment. Meanwhile, with Zigzag and Sunbeam in his cockpit, he can't make use of either of them. As dark as it is, Sunbeam's actual firepower will be reduced, but the light will seem all that much brighter.
//Right!// Needlenose answers Duskwing over the radio, as he starts to pull up. His earlier injuries leave him less maneuverable than normally, and it's only moments later before...
//Scrap! I'm cut off!// So instead, he tries to dive under Slingshot.
//If this doesn't work, Duskwing, I'm transforming mid-air to fire Sunbeam, just to give you a heads up!//

Oracle looked around as she emerged from the portal. Well now, it seemed as though she was later arriving then she had thought she would be. Didn't look like she had missed much other then some wanton destruction, which while fun wasn't really that big a loss in her opinion.
Noting the players in the air battle going on in the distance from where she emerged and the various fires spread around, she opted not to get involved in any of it for now. She didn't particularly feel like interfering in the others fun unless something went pear shaped. Looked like things were under control though, so with a slight but acknowledging nod at Rodimus she slipped away into the city, heading for a less damaged section at the same time she radioed Skyfire.
