Skyfire watches Swerve dash out with some concern. Well, at least he's leaving before he punches someone. // Have whoever has internal security monitor watch keep an optic on for excessive IR emissions,// the shuttleformer radios privately to Botanica. //If it spikes too badly, Swerve may need emergency cooling.//
He gives Bambi a mildly surprised look. "Why do you say that, Bambi? We have plenty of living eyewitnesses to Unicron in some of our home realities, and plenty of documentation of its existence here."
--- Skyfire being aware of Swerve's heating issue cleared with Swerve's player

Twin Twist shrugs and looks surly. He'd point out that uh... yes, if Rodimus Prime gets too bad with the aging thing, they will have to discount him, but he doesn't think that would go over too well.

"Eyewitnesses worst source of evidence ever," Bambi grumps. "Me Bambi ask, 'Where red car go?' and them witnesses say, 'Red car go left,' when car really blue."
"Anyway. So him Rodimus catch virus in external hard-drive. No need call it 'god'."

If Twin Twist had piped up, Botanica might well have managed to come through the viewscreen and smack him. Folks don't need to worry now about that. Give them some time to assimilate everything else first.
"I am the last person to get into a debate about the existence or lack thereof of gods. I am a scientist, yes, but I have seen enough evidence of greater powers in my life. Each must find his or her own faith in their own time."
Though she is a bit surprised at Skyfire. Isn't he from one of the realities without a Primus or other creator-figure?
"If there are no other questions about the issue at hand I am... rather tired. Please, if you have concerns, you can bring them to me or Perceptor privately. Or to another command figure, if we are unavailable."
"Thank you all for attending."
Botanica waits a few moments before breaking the connection in case anyone else has any final questions that can't keep.
OOC: Unless someone needs something specific from her, Botanica is out of thread. Feel free to continue the discussion amongst yourselves.

"Thank you, Botanica. I have no further questions just yet."
Skyfire is merely surprised that someone is denying the existence of the large elephant in the room that was caught on camcorder. After it stepped on some of the eyewitnesses.
"Ah, that is an interesting artifact of network-pattern memories in organic processors, is it not? Less of a problem with cybertronic memory banks," Skyfire observes. "Direct observation is more accurate than inferences drawn from indirect observations and evidence. For example, when I discovered that the planetoid belt in the fourth orbit around Gillan's primary was in fact part of the crust and mantle of Gillan IV, I had evidence that something had recently torn apart an inhabited planet, and abstracted a great deal of its mass. I had no way of determining what sort of event had caused it. The Unicron video from Gillan III was a direct observation that showed the destruction of Gillan IV in progress--and made very obvious what caused it."
"Why the Unicron entity attacked Gillanan IV and what its nature was--beyond the obvious : small planet-sized robotic starship--could not be determined from that observation. We have anecdotal accounts from various Autobots and Decepticons that suggest that parallels from their universes have a particular interest in Cybertron, that it is highly intelligent, and that it is a more advanced lifeform or technology than our own," Skyfire continues. "We also have observed that many less powerful sapients worship it as an avatar of death and destruction. This tells us more about what they fear than what Unicron is."
"I see nothing in the aforementioned information that is 'a crock'; it is all well-documented from multiple sources. I myself do not believe in 'gods'; the concept is such a vague catchall for 'more powerful beings than ourselves that we do not understand' that it could mean almost anything. A concept that can mean anything means nothing, and it is pointless to argue the existence of semantic fuzz," Skyfire explains.
"Vector Sigma, on my own Cybertron, was approached with some rituals as the source of new Cybertronian personalities, but it was still understood to be an extremely advanced cybernetic entity, not a god. Perhaps Quintesson-built, perhaps something beyond even their abilities; its origins and full capabilities are still a mystery as far as I know. The Matrix appears to be a similar artifact of very advanced technology. From what Rodimus Prime says, part of Unicron's sentience may be some kind of persistant energy field, one that is far more advanced than our systems and capable of overwriting them." Skyfire spreads his hands in an "I just don't know" gesture.
"There's some odd stuff out there; I can well believe that some ancient civilization might have existed that built something like Unicron as a doomsday machine, an immortal berserker to wipe out their enemies no matter what."

Long Haul looks from speaker to speaker as each one talks. This means he watches Skyfire for a good while. His optic band widens, and then he slumps a little and he rubs the back of his head.
He spends his time around these folks every day, and he's always spent his time around people like Hook or Scrapper or Mixmaster. Technobabble isn't exactly beyond him. He gets the gist.
But it's not really something he's into, either.
And this is worse than technobabble. This is philosophy.
"I'mma... gonna get back to work," he says, looking around the room. Then he turns to plod off. He's got a lot to think about, but he suspects sticking around here to talk it over will make things as clear as mud.
OOC: Staying in thread one more round, just in case he hears something that makes him want to stick around.

Twin Twist wanders off. He has something to do, he's pretty sure. He checks his duty shift, just to be sure.
Yes. It is robot equivalent of peeling potatoes. Oh boy!
Twin Twist is sorting the bolts taken off dead bodies.
OOC: Out of thread.

Each must find his or her own faith in their own time. Forget that. Bambi grumbles, "Me Bambi no 'must' do anything." She can stay faithless as long as she wants!
After Skyfire's ramble, Bambi growls, "Me Bambi say, 'This all huge crock.' Me Bambi no say, 'Him Unicron not exist.' You Skyfire saying, 'bout cybertronic memory banks?"
She snorts and smirks with grim triumph.

Skyfire gives Bambi an exasperated look. "'This all huge crock' implies that you find all of the situation unbelievable. If that's not what you meant by 'This' and 'all', do clarify. I suspect you did not intend to imply that the briefing was a heavy ceramic container."
"My cybertronic memory banks are fine; your semantic precision is lacking," Skyfire smirks back.

"You Skyfire heavy ceramic container!" Bambi shouts, flinging her claws up. "You Skyfire want play semantics? Go find board game! Her Botanica talking all blather 'both Unicron straining him Rodimus's soul. That crock."
Indeed, Botanica explicitly mentioned souls just before Bambi's initial crockery comment.
"You Skyfire chose meaning for 'this' that let you Skyfire dither, because you Skyfire like hear own voice."
That piece said, Bambi turns to leave, tail swishing.
OOC: Out unless stopped.

"Bambi?" Skyfire sounds suddenly worried. "I.. thought you wanted to.. er, were open to discussion?"
What did he say to offend? Bambi seemed to be a scientist, someone who would appreciate the rough and tumble of academic debate. Skyfire looks... hurt as Bambi heads out.
