Month 1, Week 4, Day 1, Closed thread
Almost a week had passed since Scourge's announcement to the troops and still the Seeker was uncertain of his own ambitions and goals. Part of him scoffed at the scope of it and wanted to go along with his own plan, but another part marveled at it, wished to taste that awesome power, though it would mean giving up on his own ambitions. But for now, he was still in a phase where such matters did not yet obstruct his path.
Assault is in one of the more isolated rooms of Medical, hidden away in a nice, quiet corner, the entrance for it hidden in the back of an unassuming supply room. Mindwipe did not have proper authorization, but Assault is well prepared for his arrival, constantly keeping an eye on a monitor that is linked to a hidden camera. When the bat arrives, he will be called in with a simple press of a button.
But it would be insulting both to himself and the other Decepticon if he did not prepare an appropriate welcome! He gave Mindwipe his word that he would, after all! So the central bench has been cleared of junk and polished clean, a cyber-teapot with cups sitting there, ready and waiting, the aroma pleasant and welcoming. The rest of the room was not so clean however; there were several other benches, parts and tools neatly laid out on them along with datapads, the walls covered with thick wires, folded up robotic arms and monitors showing schematics, as well as speakers that are currently playing a pleasant, classical Cybertronian tune, perfect for tea time.
The Seeker himself had his back turned to the door, holding something in his hand, looking into the amber-tinted reflective surface that sat in the middle of it. A foreboding, little smile is on his lips when his optics are drawn to one of the monitors. Ah, it would seem that his guest has arrived! Assault puts down the component and covers it with a black tarp before turning to face the door as he swishes a button, the entrance swiftly opening. "Ah, Mindwipe! It is truly great to see you! I hope that you do not mind the mess. I keep it all organized, of course, but with all of this," He waves to the many items in the room, "It can get a bit difficult. Now, please, have a seat!"

Mindwipe is waiting with his hands clasped behind his back, and a slight hunch in his posture. Three red optics meet Assault when he opens the door.
"Yes, yes, it's fine, it's fine..." Mindwipe looks around. It's a far sight more organized than his portion of his quarters. The music is nice, though.
He takes a seat as directed, resting his hands on the table, turning optics on the Seeker again. "...so what's the reason for this meeting, Assault? What is this answer that you seek?"

While Mindwipe makes himself comfortable, Assault busies himself with pouring the two of them some space-robot-energon-tea. Pink vapor rises from Mindwipe's cup as the Seeker puts it down in front of him, listening to his question while he sips from his cup, pinky-finger stretched out. He doesn't sit down though.
"Ah, to the point." A smile creeps onto his face, barely visible over the rim of his cup, but when he lowers it again it is gone. "Very good. I shall not insult you, nor waste both our time with idle chit-chat and instead get straight to it. The matter is, my dear Mindwipe, that I want to talk about your unique ability. Your third optic."
Assault raises his cup one more time to sip from it before putting it back down on the table, resting a hand on the smooth surface while he looks at his companion. There is no smile, no frown, there is nothing on a face that may as well be a mask. Nothing, but the piercing inquisitive glow of his amber optics, that are looking directly at that little gem in his forehead. "The ability to manipulate another's mind, while a valuable tool not available to everyone, is not unique. In my reality alone we used it quite a bit in the early days of the war, to 'persuade' Autobots to see matters from our perspective, to change their allegiance. From what I have gathered, my reality is not the only one in which such techniques are used."
"But you? Your ability has been documented before, but I have never seen a sentient being possess it. On the rare occasions that I witnessed it, it was always a machine, and the strength and effectiveness differed. You intrigue me, Mindwipe. I wish to understand it. I wish to know it's limitations. But I will not ask you to give up all your secrets to me. No, more then anything else, I wish to know one, simple thing..." Now, he does sit down, but he never breaks eye contact. Once he is seated, he leans forward and steeples his fingers, forming a pyramid that he holds in front of his face, his optics squinting until they are curious slits.
"...Can you undo the effects of a typical core reprogramming?"

Mindwipe also partakes of the tea - good stuff, this - though he pauses when Assault mentions his abilities. The aforementioned third eye peers up at Assault, narrowed.
The tea cup is placed down on the table, and Mindwipe leans back in his seat a bit, fingers interlaced as he listens to Assault.
"I am a hypnotist at heart, not a programmer. While my abilities are capable of mystically altering programming, it is more often done on a temporary basis - turn an Autobot against their allies, make them forget they saw me, that type of thing." Mindwipe raises a finger. "I would need to know more about what it is specifically you wish to have undone. I am unsure what effects my abilities might have on those of you with laser cores. Things may be the same, there may be unintended side effects..." Mindwipe folds his arms. "The dark arts are fickle that way."

When Mindwipe talks, Assault listens, giving the hypnotist his full and undivided attention. He keeps his fingers pressed together and his optics leveled on him, remaining still, only sparing a nod when he is finally done. "But you never tried to undo it, then? To disable the changes that have been made, something that in theory should be far less difficult and, more importantly, permanent?"
Once again the Seeker rises to his feet, snatching up a remote control as he turns to a nearby monitor. He does not activate it, not yet. "The reason I wish to knew is really quite simple. It has come to my attention that two illustrous comrades have fallen victim of reprogramming themselves, so that their ultimate loyalty belongs to only one."
Now, he turns the screen one. The face that appears may not be one that Mindwipe has seen before, but the similarities, especially the look in his optics, make sure that there is no mistaking of who this is.
Megatron.
"My motives are two fold. Reprogramming on our own units is something I revile with all my being. I can not nor will not let this violation, inflicted upon them against their own will, to last any longer. But more importantly, this is a potential weak spot that needs to be mended before the Autobots learn of it and find a way to exploit this. It might not happen in the next few weeks or days, but it is inevitable. I have run a scan on one of them, and while I understand the changes that were made, I do not know how it functions. It might react to only the real Megatron, but it may also compel them to obey a suitable convincing impostor."

"I have not tried, no." Mindwipe sips at his tea again. "I am a hypnotist, not a programmer, as I said before."
He peers up at the screen as it activates. He thinks the Megatron is a rather strange-looking one, but still has some degree of Megatron-ery to him.
"I would suggest letting an actual programmer do the work - perhaps Needlenose? However, if you have some reason to not approach the Mayhems regarding this," And Mindwipe suspects that Assault does, given the secrecy behind this rendezvous. "There may be something I can do as a stop-gap measure - hypnotic suggestion could be implemented to make them ignore that programming."
Mindwipe lays his cup down, and laces his fingers together as he leans back. "However...as I mentioned before, there could be side effects. What they might be, I am unsure. I have yet to test my gifts upon someone of another reality."

"I would have approached him already, if there was sufficient reason to believe that Needlenose could aid me while treating this like the delicate matter that it is." Mayhems, so unpredictable and so untrustworthy!
Assault calmly listens to what Mindwipe has to say, bringing a hand up to rub his chin. Interesting, but also disappointing. Assault was hoping that Mindwipe's ability could simply override the change, nullify it. "It could work, but the consequences could be far more grave then letting it be as it is now. I will have to give this more thought."

"Ahah, I understand." So instead, you go to the hypnotist that works for intel.
Mindwipe nods. "Mind, they are merely possibilities - not for sure.* However, giving it thought is wise," he replies, sipping at the tea once more.

OOC: *This is up to Brawl if any adverse effects happen, if this is even gone through with. Also, heading for a wrap, I think?

Well, it's not like he revealed anything terribly important! It's just a bit suspect that he wants to undo the alterations under the radar, but others on this ship have far bigger secrets!
Besides, Assault would have to do terrible, unspeakable things to Mindwipe if he tells, like cut him off from any future home made teas he comes up with.
"Thank you for your time and thoughts, Mindwipe. If need be, I will call upon you again."

OOC: Yup, heading for a wrap.

Mindwipe finishes his tea and nods, rising. "And thank you for the tea, Assault. I must be off, however!" He flourishes his hand as he says this, and dramatically turns toward the door. "There are things that must be done!"
And with that, the kooky jet is off.

"Goodbye, Mindwipe."
Assault watches Mindwipe flounce off with his usual dramatic flair. He doesn't mind, though. The hypnotist has personality, and he rather likes that.
Once his companion is gone and the doors have locked once more, he turns to face the screens, optics narrowing in thought while he glances at the picture that now depict two Combaticons, each with a bleeping red dot in their heads. Then, with a weary sigh he turns to what he had been on working earlier, picking it up and gazing into the reflective amber-tinted surface, the reflection of his glowing optics the only thing to make it seem alive.
"Everything must be so complicated. I would wonder why that is...But I rather enjoy a good challenge of the gray circuitry. As will you, my friend, my greatest and most magnificent creation, once you shall finally be complete."

That's a wrap!
