Month 2, Week 4, Day 3. Open after Oracle posts in.
Apparently, when they're not fighting Decepticons or making nice with humans, Autobots are supposed to check out weird energy readings. Slingshot doesn't buy that for a minute - he's sure they never did this back on his Earth, Kup's stories aside. Kup might be cool, but he had to be making things up half the time.
Okay, Slingshot was feeling generous. Kup was probably only making things up a quarter of the time.
He flies over the Caribbean Sea, heading towards Montrose Island. "How much do you want to bet it's the Decepticons doing something doofy?"

While not sure why the two of them were picked exactly, Oracle has nothing against getting some time away from the Event Horizon and out flying even if it's just to get a look at some energy readings. Not the weirdest job she's had, or the worst, and she and Slingshot do have the benefit of being both fast and less likely to be noticed than say a funny colored Guardian would be. She may also be forgetting that jets do not usually fly themselves on Earth.
Flying in tandem with the other jet, Oracle can't help but snicker and waggle her wings a bit in a negative at his comment. She will not be taking that bet, but then again...
"Considering how often I manage get surprised around here, I don't want to bet on anything I can't see the result of ahead of time." Obviously you shouldn't gamble with her, she apparently thinks random luck is for other people. "But while I won't bet on them causing whatever those reading were, I also certainly won't bet against them showing up either. They have a nasty habit of that."

Well, Slingshot and Oracle can both fly, which makes traveling to Caribbean islands easier. And Oracle has been voted "Least Likely to Lock Slingshot Outside an Airlock".
Slingshot barrel-rolls lazily. "Yeah, well, I hope they do. This Earth is even more boring than the one back home!"
He has now ensured there will either be no Decepticons whatsoever, or Shockwave will personally show up to whup his aft.

Oracle is not likely to lock Slingshot outside an airlock no. She's quite likely to pummel someone else for attempting it in fact, should they decide to try doing so.
She's just a bit possessive, having taken the younger jet under her metaphorical (and occasionally literal) wing.
She can't help point out wryly, "well now that you've said that, who knows what will happen?" If Shockwave shows up, Oracle is grabbing Slingshot by the kibble and dragging him off as fast as she can fly. That's one confrontation that just isn't happening.
"Though," she trails off thoughtfully for a moment and flips upside down to 'look' down at Slingshot, "extremes aside, do you know what we are actually likely to run into? Generally I mean, for that part of Earth." She has never been there after all, and he may be more familiar with the area than she is. After all, this is Oracle's first trip to this planet.

"Heh. You know, I didn't get why people always got jumpy if me or one of my brothers said 'at least it can't get any worse'. Not until I got here." Slingshot laughs at the end, which is probably even weirder than him admitting not knowing something in the first place.
But he's flying with Oracle. It's easier to relax around Oracle.
"Jungle island, mostly a volcano, but it's not doing anything interesting. The island's a resort." Oracle can likely hear the eye-roll there. "So there's going to be humans, and some of 'em are going to be rich jerks, and some of 'em are going to be kinda okay like Sparkplug."
Yeah, Slingshot knows what to expect. Skydive made him look it up. (Except that isn't it at all, and he'd gotten used to being alone in his head, and he kinda hates Hook for making him feel bereft of his brothers again and kinda loves him for giving them back.)

Oracle can't help but make a staticky electronic raspberry noise. "Ha! Yeah, 'at least it can't get any worse' is practically fighting words or a curse around here. Well, not just here but...it really applies here." Because if it can go wrong, it will. Hilariously.
Speaking of... "So, we should be on the lookout for volcanic eruptions as well as whatever else we're there to check out, now?" Oracle teases, because Slingshot just had to say the volcano wasn't doing anything interesting. Though more to the point of what he said, there will be humans there. Some apparently nice, some less so.
Spiraling around back upright, she flicks her wings at Slingshot before darting ahead then slowing enough for him to catch up. "Well what are we waiting for? Sooner there, sooner we see what the fuss is about. I'll race you!"

"No volcanoes are going to erupt on my watch!" But if they do... "You ever ridden an eruption blast-front?"
Because it sounds frakking awesome!
Silverbolt stirs in the back of his mind, pointing out he needs to make sure the humans are safe before he goes to play with the volcano. That's how he knows it's not really Silverbolt. The real Silverbolt wouldn't have let him play with the volcano at all.
"Hey!" He laughs and pours on the thrust to catch up with her. He knows she can beat him in a flat-out race (man, he misses the few days between getting his new mode and getting the heavy new combiner tech). Instead, he rolls, swiping close enough to her to push one of his wingtip vortices at her. It's mean, but he's confident she can recover. In time.

"Uhh, sort of?" Assuming really big explosions are in the same blast front category. "Though certainly not from a volcano going off before!" Not a first she really wants to experience either, she has a funny feeling the higher ups back on the Event Horizon might be a bit torqued with them if they managed to blow up the island.
Just you know, a bit.
Though it does sound fun. But she's not mentioning that.
What she is doing is letting out a yip and a "hey!" as she dips, spins and wobbles trying to regain her course. There's laughter in Oracle's admonition though when she finally pipes up to tease back at Slingshot once she's back to flying true and chasing after him. "So that's how we're playing this?" She's not quite caught up to him yet, but when she does she's debating between returning the favor or baiting him into trying again.

Just a wee bit.
"Man, Powerglide could have recovered faster than that!" Slingshot jeers. He sounds happier when he says it than she might have seen him with certain other jets.
The island is coming up fast on the horizon, the volcano forming most of its land structure. The lower slopes are heavily forested, while the upper slopes are bare rock tumbling into the volcanic crater itself.
