Month 2, Week 1, Day 1, Earth, the UN, semi-private: Emirate Xaaron, Rodimus Prime, any of the Elite Guard, and SceneMod can show up here. If you are someone else, please ask Rodimus or Xaaron if you may join if you'd like to. We're going to assume that the boring part of the talks with the UN is done, and they're just walking out now, to go catch a pick-up away shuttle (not the full Event Horizon).
Down one of the hallways built tall and grand enough to accommodate his people, quite by chance, Emirate Xaaron walks along with his hands behind his back and comments brightly, "That went well enough." None of them are dead.
He explained that they are (mostly) extra-terrestrials from a number of different extra-dimensional universes, that they come in peace, but that they are looking for a dangerous war criminal of their species known as Shockwave, who they believe to be hiding on Earth. They are going to find him and bring him to justice, but they respect the right to self-rule of the humans, and so they'd like to work out extradition rights. Emirate Xaaron is more or less okay with this being a two way street - if a human serial killer sneaks on the Event Horizon, he's definitely okay with human authorities taking the serial killer away! They'll appreciate human help in the search, if they want to offer it - Shockwave may well be a danger to humans, too - but they certainly don't need it, and they won't ask for it. He explained that his species has number of factions, some of which have a tendency to fall upon other worlds and drains them of resources, ignoring the rights of the sapients on said worlds. He explained that his species is mostly mechanical, but some of them are partially organic, and they are very varied in appearance.
It was a quick spiel. There was a lot of disbelief. The Mars rocks he handed off are still under analysis - not that they're from Mars, he was quick to note; they just stopped there to show that they've been elsewhere than Earth, and they knew humans had sampled Mars before and would thus be able to verify the Mars rocks as Mars rocks or not. Some humans were very upset, feeling that space robots violate some tenet or other of their religions. Others were smug. There was one assassination attempt that Emirate Xaaron noticed, but his comrades stopped it admirably enough. That'll be a nice story for the mess halls, he thinks.
A few countries have already offered the extradition rights he requested. Perhaps they think it'd be better to be in the good books of the extra-terrestrials. Some have denied them categorically. Others are still debating. Emirate Xaaron suspects he'll be back here again and again, but that's fine, while the world is watching him, they're not watching those black ops search teams. He wonders how they're doing.
He still itches from the rebuild. Rebuilds just aren't his style. It'll be nice to get back to the ship for a bit and plan their next move, send out some non-covert teams to go looking in the more amenable countries...

As Emirate Xaaron and his entourage stride down the hall, another group has rounded the corner and is heading toward them. Several of the gentleman and ladies in their smart business suits stop in their stride and gap openmouthed at the giant robots. At the head of the group is a tall, pale woman with dark hair and eyes and a darker-skinned shorter, dumpy man with rose tinted glasses, graying temples, and an upswept hairdo.
The woman snaps her fingers sharply and the rest of the group falls back into pace. As she reaches one of the doors, she places her hand on it, pauses, and turns to look at the robots.
"Do not be impressed. We can do better," she says in a slight British accent, "And have."
The group disappears through the door. The sign next to the conference room declares it to be the location of some sort of technological summit.
OOC: not in rotation.

Rodimus nods in agreement with Emirate Xaaron. "I would have liked to have gotten more on board, but first contact and all. Their universe just got a lot larger, and it's going to take them some time to really grasp it." He grins. "Luckily, their imaginations give them a bit of a head start, and by this point quite a few of their stories show 'aliens' in a pretty sympathetic light!"
As the small group of humans passes, Rodimus hesitates, and frowns. He watches after them for a moment, then shakes his head, touching his right temple. "Hnh," he murmurs quietly.

Override looks around with some interest. She stands up straight, a bounce to her step, and gives any who look her way a dazzling grin, perhaps a wave, perhaps a thumbs up. She obviously knows how to work the cameras, and does so when they're pointed her way. The truth is, she's been pretty bored since the assassination attempt was dealt with, but that doesn't excuse failing to put on a show.
She doesn't have any to say to the humans passing, though she offers any who look right at her the same charismatic smile she's been sharing with anyone else who looks her way.
OOC: Skippable.

Optimus privately thinks it would have been better for their reputation if they could have arrived in the middle of a disaster and performed some heroics, but he's not going to say that out loud on-camera. "I still can't believe they tried to kill you," he says, looking over his shoulder back at the main amphitheater as he walks protectively near Emirate Xaaron's shoulder. "It's not a terribly promising start."
He watches the humans go past, then turns to look at Rodimus as the Primer Prime seems concerned. "What was that? Something with the Matrix?" he asks, lowering his voice.

Emirate Xaaron might be missing an optic. Maybe.
He thinks little of the dismissive female human. There are dozens of feeds scrolling on his datapad, and certainly there are worse negative reactions than hers. There are those crying that all this is a hoax. There is a faction of Anonymous claiming responsibility, even. There are those claiming that machines aren't alive. There are those upset that the machines visited the UN. There are those suggesting that Override is really male and was only dubbed as a woman to satisfy the feminists. There are those demanding an immediate air strike on the UN - someone on the Event Horizon is watching the airspace around here, yes?
Space laser through an ICBM isn't exactly the best way to start a manhunt, however.
Emirate Xaaron does, however, pick up on Rodimus Prime's head touch. He smiles radiantly over at Optimus, who has asked the question that he would, and he says brightly, "Oh, don't worry about that. You've never done diplomacy in Slaughter City, have you?"
There will always be whackjobs, like this feed suggesting that Ashton Kutcher is behind the Autobots confirms.

They could always start sending folks out to help with natural disasters?
(Though they probably would, anyway.)
Rodimus forces a faint smile and looks back at Optimus. "I guess you could say that. Just got an... odd feeling there for a moment, was all." Often, Rodimus's 'odd feelings' could be called 'something with the Matrix,' even when, to him, they don't feel like they're from any sort of 'outside force.' He shakes his head. "Nothing real clear or, well, useful," he admits.
He gives Xaaron a puzzled frown. "Diplomacy happened in Slaughter City?" he asks, tone a bit unbelieving, then he smiles. "Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it too much. We do what we do, and they'll come around." After all, in Rodimus's home reality, the Autobots went from having to deal with U.S. government teams specifically formed to take them out, take them captive, and reverse engineer them to being close enough allies with the U.S. to be allowed to establish a sovereign city in American territory.

"I don't think I'd want to ever have to do diplomacy in any place called Slaughter City," Optimus responds. Where the heck is that, anyway? The Planet of Fear in the Pain Galaxy? "I don't think I've ever seen anything quite so worrying as you smiling like that, sir."
"I just hope they come around before the Decepticons do anything . . . drastic."

They probably will start sending out Autobots to help with random disasters - those disasters could be signs of Decepticon activity!
Slaughter City was actually one of the few Autobot-held surface cities on Marvel Cybertron. Before the war, it was known for a thriving arena business. During the war, it was known for being a completely brutal place where the Autobots wore the oppressor's boot and Decepticon fuel ran freely in the streets.
Nice place. Just don't buy the commemorative plate souvenir. You don't know where that's been. Emirate Xaaron's smile deepens, putting in some crinkles near his optics, and he laughs, trying to reach back and pat Optimus on the arm. He notes, "Oh, but it'd mean seeing Cybertron again!" As for Rodimus Prime's dubiousness, Kup has Kup Stories, and Emirate Xaaron has... implausible tales about tort reforms in Slaughter City. He insists, "Of course. Once they sent for a messenger just so they could kick him down a well."
While it was a risk, taking both himself and Rodimus Prime, to not go himself would have been an insult, and Rodimus Prime is experienced in dealing with humans. Didn't Rodimus Prime even help raise a larval stage human into a functional adult? So Emirate Xaaron was glad to have Rodimus Prime's experience. He himself is good with relating to other Transformers, but humans are... alien.
He muses aloud, "I'll work more on extradition tomorrow, but we simply must nail down something on copyright law and trade secrets..."
If some skidplate MIBs kidnap and vivisect some of his men, Emirate Xaaron doesn't just want to charge them with kidnapping, assault, and (most likely) grand theft auto. He will light a fire under their boots over violating trade secrets. Yes, Rodimus Prime is a ZEV. That's very popular these days. If the humans want to reverse engineer his muffler, they can slagging well as politely first and pay Rodimus Prime a royalty fee over it.

Rodimus nods as Optimus expresses his hope that the humans come around before the Decepticons do something drastic, but then offers, "We're not going to get everyone on board. That just doesn't happen. But their 'alien ambassador' is Spike Witwicky, and that's a great sign!" Granted, Rodimus is rather biased on the matter. Spike was his old boss's head for awhile, and the larval human that he did, indeed, help raise was that head's spawn.
The Prime begins to look a bit bored, however, as Xaaron talks over the details on copyright law and trade secrets. The weird thing is... he's actually fairly good at this stuff, when it comes right down to it. But it's dull. The day may yet come when he takes more interest in such negotiations since it does, after all, often serve as an alternative to violence, but usually he's more interested in setting up the broad strokes and letting someone else hash out the nitty gritty.
He looks around. "You know, I wouldn't mind taking a turn around the city while we're down here. Maybe try and size up the... size up some of the differences." It might not be a great idea to yammer openly about alternate dimensions, as that only gets things more confusing at an already tense time. Rodimus could, of course, switch to Cybertronian, but, despite the fact that many languages are spoken openly in these halls, switching to something quite that alien is bound to draw suspicion.

Optimus is patted on the arm. "So Slaughter City is on Cybertron, then," he reasons. Optimus's player is okay with Emirate Xaaron handwaving explaining Slaughter City again, if said player wishes, since it already happened once in meta.
"You don't suppose Ambassador Witwicky will be a target for the Decepticons, do you?" he asks, lowering his voice. If any of the Decepticons have any pattern recognition skills at all, they'll be going after Witwickys like a Terminator after Connors.
"A drive around the city would be nice. It'd be interesting to see what it looks like," the Prime agrees. Especially since for him, this Detroit is decades younger than the one he's used to.

Emirate Xaaron is not going to explain Slaughter City in front of humans on the day of First Contact.
Luckily for Rodimus Prime, Emirate Xaaron is all about the boring legal stuff that drives young Primes to tears. Teamwork! Division of labour! This is not say that they won't get into some sordid three-way legal battle with Porter C. Powell and Swindle, just that it won't be as bad as it could have otherwise been.
He rubs his chin and comments, "I'll have to catch a ride in your trailer. Most of you were granted temporary driving permits, but as for myself..." he shrugs. Sky Spy decided that Emirate Xaaron really, really needed to be a M24. He's going to throttle that drone.
Emirate Xaaron looks at Optimus Prime obliquely and says lowly, "If patterns run true to course... yes."
It's unpleasant, but it's life. Would Sari have ever been thrust into so much danger if her best pals weren't Autobots? Anything Transformers touch is thrust into a world full of hazards.

Optimus will sadly have to settle for New York City for now, since that's where the United Nations headquarters is.
Rodimus's expression grows more sober and he nods in agreement with Emirate Xaaron when Optimus asks if Spike is a likely target. "I'm afraid so. The Decepticon Targetmasters in particular are liable to go after him, since in my reality he was actually Fort Max's head. We'll have to make sure he stays safe."
Then he brightens as the prospect to get out and about comes up. He looks at Emirate Xaaron. "Sure, you can ride in my trailer. Or on top of it, if you can balance." That is probably a horrible idea. "We're done with meetings, right?"

Optimus's player knew the UN was in NYC. He was just seeing if you knew. It was a test. You passed.
"So not only will he be a target for the Decepticons, but the Mayhems will be after him? We should assign him an escort," Optimus says. "It couldn't hurt to give the Earth's ambassador a chance to get to know a couple of us personally, anyway."
"Remind me to get a flatbed trailer for carrying tanks if we do this again," he comments. He's been known to use a regular trailer, the back end of a firetruck that is apparently detachable, and even the back end of a dump truck. Why not a flatbed?

"Done for today, unless they call me back in for another emergency session," Emirate Xaaron says cheerily, "but I'll need to be back here tomorrow, bright and sharp. You lot," he looks to the others, "might already be busy searching," which means that someone else might get a chance to see the amazing and stupid ways that humans might try to kill Emirate Xaaron by playing bodyguard duty for him.
He gives Rodimus Prime an arch look and adds, "I'll ride inside, thanks." Just put an 'airstrike here' target on the both of them, why don't they?
Emirate Xaaron rubs his chin, smirking, and notes, "You could do that, you know. Assign an escort. You have the authority."
Optimus Prime has troops! He can totally order Mirage to go follow a human around! Or any of them, but bad things always happen to Mirage.
