I've been recolouring Nickkelsch sprites for some time now, but I got an urge to do some for the OCs of Deadzone.
Fleetwind existed by another name in another Roleplaying place, so I've had this one for a while. Just a basic Seeker recolour, nothing tricky.
There isn't an official Emirate Xaaron sprite! I'm shocked! Xaaron is a VERY heavily edited and recoloured Megatron. I think there's a little Soundwave in the head too.
Skystrike is a heavily edited Seeker - no vent chests, no shoulder intake thingies (let me know if the jargon is getting too much for you), and has a cockpit-and-a-nosecone on his torso, not just a cockpit. Throw in some new wings and you're good to go.
Starfighter is Thundercracker, only his White bits are a darker blue. He's in the same vein as Fleetwind in that he's a "More than Meets the Eye" Cybertronian seeker, who happens to look like he turns into an F-15 in robot mode. He looks surprised at the request of Starfighter's player.
Gizmo I took a bit of creative licensing with. Hound's head and shoulder-mounted launcher with a tweak to the optics to give it a visor look and the launcher to make it less missile-y. The body is mostly Runamuck's, with Bluestreak's car doors. The chest is an original from me, as are the forearm-mounted wheels.
The lower body colour scheme and design are speculation on my part. At time of this posting Gizmo's player has yet to view this - I hope she doesn't mind. It's subject to editing.
If anyone else wants a Sprite done for their Original Character, let me know! I'll need a picture or at least a comparable description; something like "He looks like Optimus only instead of legs he has a giant pogo stick, and has a head like Bumblebee from the movie, and he is orange and green instead of red and blue."
Anyway, for the first time ever here is the very first group shot of the very confusing Blue Jet Quartet!
Synapse being a minibot was tricky, given his minibot size. His head and arms are modified from War Within Sideswipe. The bulk of his body is actually outback, and the doors were modified into his kibble. And of course, you cannot have him without his nodes, so....
Hellbender is a Seeker body with Scourge's wings (edited) and a modified Cybertjet's torso. The missile launcher is from Hound. This is intended to be faithful to the icon that his player linked me to (below), but this is subject to change in the future.
Screwdriver is an Energon Arcee with Junkion colours. There's a lot of detail so I had some trouble translating it over. The head was fun, but I had trouble portraying red optics in a blue visor. In the end her player and I settled for the version you see here.
Pee-Dee is also an E-Arcee Repaint, but regularly sized. I found it easier to base it off wreck-gar and give her some of E-Arcee's features, like the wheels on the back and the arm kibble. The face is Actually G1 Arcee, and the helmet is original. I also tried to be different with the colours so this wasn't a Screwdriver/Wreck-Gar lookalike.
Eye-Fire is a WiP, his creator/player has yet to 'sign off' on this. All I had to go on was his profile, which tells me that he's Shockwave, only without the same 'face'. Calling what Shockwave has a face says a lot. I kept with the black, but chose to add a bit of the green that the head has to add a bit more colour to the design. If the player changes his mind, I'll edit it. Otherwise, it's just a recolour, with a slight tweak to the gun barrel, as well as what hand it appears on. Interestingly enough, Eye-Fire can turn his gun back into a hand. Interesting idea.
Sell sword is just about tied with Pee-Dee for the most creative license I've taken. The body is G2's Rotorstorm, albiet with the tailfin 'shoulders' and of course the heli blades removed. I chose him because the canopy is in fact on his chest, and kindasorta resembles the vehicle that is in Sell Sword's profile. The head is Thunder Clash, selected under the grounds of 'he had seperate optics, his head is generic enough and it was there.' I slapped on some olive green, added a little more purple (again, single-colour-itis) and some missile launchers (thanks again, Hound!) and of course gave him his 'sunglasses' optics, and all was good.
