Earth, Month 1, Day 31; semi-private
Frenzy slouches in Clio's seat, sometimes mutter-grumbling about Decepticon cars without tinted windows and what they could do with themselves. Cars whip by them on I-94; humans drive like they get an extra-spike of crazy on the interstates, Frenzy has noticed.
"Blackrock Industries got some big slagging business in this city," he says, peeking out the window to check the exit signs. "This just scout work. We go in, we scout. Site tours. Two Blackrock plants, maaaaaaaaaybe Biotech Unbound, we got the time. Nice and simple. Boring. Boring's good. Boring is fragging good."
They're still under orders not to attract human attention, after all.

"I think you conflate 'boring' with 'calm and untroubled', little one," Clio speaks softly into her interior as she drives towards their first destination at Frenzy's direction. "I, for one, do not find a lack of excitement and danger to be boring."
And really, every moment she spends in populated areas of this planet is a moment that she's at work, compiling observations of the local humanoid species and formulating hypotheses about their social structure and its development.
For that thought, she gets a sense of affectionate exasperation from her other passenger, Patra lounging in what has become her typical place when they're traveling on Earth - Clio's driver's seat.
"Do you ever turn off?" Patra says. "Really, darling, you need to live a little. I'm with him-" She turns her head to eye the bladey little 'Con, slightly wary and a bit annoyed that the passenger seat is on her blind side. "Nice and simple is boring. But if we're doing spy work, however... that sounds a little exciting." A smirk curls her deep red lips, and Clio experiences her own fit of affectionate exasperation.

Frenzy enjoyed the Air Force One mission. This mission? This mission is as easy as downloading porn from the internet.
"Got a list. This goes well..." He shrugs. "Might be more places."
It's not as if he can drag Barricade around for site tours right now. His partner is the head of Decepticon Intelligence, he's got more important things to be doing.
Blackrock Tower looms as they take one of the beltways around the city. It's an elegant mix of classic lines and modern styling, but the way it towers over the other skyscrapers of the city... Well, someone is making a point.
The interior probably looks like an iPod.
"Check the offices later," Frenzy says, fingers drumming against Clio's door. "R&D labs. Tour. Patra takes tour, laptop in bag. Play it by ear."
They're just scouting, but if an opportunity comes along...
"Patra got a gun?"
OOC: They can arrive at the site on Clio's post if you like.

If he keeps drumming on her interior, Clio is going to mummify Frenzy with a seat belt.
"Do I have a gun?" Patra parrots rhetorically. With a quick motion she draws a small pistol from the front of of her dress, the holster neatly concealed below her bust. "However, I'm not certain of the wisdom of bringing it with me on a tour. I will most likely be searched, mm?"
"We have arrived," Clio breaks in, finally finding space to park within easy walking distance of Blackrock Tower. Frenzy might want to duck down a bit more, in case passing pedestrians take notice of the car's strange passenger. However, Clio has noted that the humans seem to have remarkably bad peripheral vision, so it may not be an issue. "I may have to move depending on how long you are in there, but I will remain in the area."
And if something goes terribly wrong, she is coming in to get them, orders to not attract attention and inability to transform be damned. One does not simply abandon their Powermaster partner to die.
Patra grins and pats the laptop bag. "Time to get in the bag, sweetheart."

Frenzy's mouth-spines ripple. "Ain't gonna search a lady there. Slagsuckers."
He hesitates then pulls a license card out of his chest. He flicks it at Patra - it's a Michigan concealed pistol carry license registered to one Kathleen S. Patra. He hopes she's bright enough to know what to do with it.
With a soft whirr and slide of parts, he folds down into a state-of-the-art laptop. A bright blue optic almost seems to wink as it disappears under the silver casing.
Patra slips him into the case and steps out of the car. She gives the red Clio a fond pat as she walks away.
Like any good spy, Frenzy cased this place before he set foot on the planet. That's how he knows Blackrock Tower is not legally a pistol-free zone, and that this particular tour of the R&D labs gets them a chance to eyeball the good stuff.
The tour-guide smiles brightly at the small gathering of people. The smile is a bit fixed - she does this every day - but it's also a real smile rather than a "please die now" customer service smile. "We'll be leaving in five minutes, everyone! Please make sure you have your visitor's badge; it only takes a few moments to get from the Guest Desk to your left."
It's easy enough to get a visitor's pass; the receptionist barely even glances at the ID Patra hands her.
People mill around for a few minutes until the tour guide indicates the tour has begun. She leads them off through the building, talking about what Blackrock Industries's mission and goals are in the world, and how the R&D Department here in Detroit is helping to make a better tomorrow. Why, if they're lucky, Dr. Sumdac and Ms. Beller will have their prototype available for show! Additionally, Dr. Arkeville arrived this week as part of a collaboration with Blackrock Industries's efforts to create an economical, sustainable power generation system. Neither the Surgeon-General nor his generator will be visited during this tour, but he'll be giving a talk tomorrow night and there are still tickets available through Blackrock Industries's Guest Services department.

Goodness, Frenzy get Patra all the nicest things! Or at least all the necessary licenses.
The Nebulan keeps a polite smile on her face as she follows the tour guide, paying more attention to her surroundings than to what the woman is saying. She's sure Frenzy has a perfectly good set of ears or microphones or whatever-it-is Cybertronians have - Audio receptors, Clio prompts - but she's the only one with a set of eyes - well, eye - in here. Unless Frenzy can see out of the laptop case. She wouldn't actually put it past the strange, pointy creature.
Really, she hopes the tour isn't too technical. She likes fancy technological trinkets as much as the next person, but she's a biologist, not an engineer. Then again, some of the other people along for the tour don't exactly look like the scientific sort at all. Patra glances at a handful of young men in the group.
Hmm, military personnel I believe, Clio weighs in. Patra gets the sense that her partner finds the situation a bit odd, but Clio says nothing further. That's the way she gets when she has a hypothesis but doesn't feel she has enough information to justify her hunch. Perhaps she'll keep an especially close eye on them.
And despite feeling positively modest in her knee-high boots and opaque red dress that reaches a few inches above them, perhaps she'll catch some of their eyes, too. If nothing else, it's not every day you meet a tall, dark woman with a fitted metal eye-patch and beads in her hair.

Several of the young men have been eyeing Patra, but it's the brown-haired one with the kiwi accent who makes eye-contact.
He has very blue eyes.
The guide is currently wittering on about how Blackrock Industries does a variety of work for the military, including communications, ship-systems, medical technology, and weaponry.

Patra lets a playful smile curl her lips as Blue-Eyes meets her gaze. She'd give him a wink, but the effect is rather diminished when you only have one eye. Instead she quirks a questioning brow and drifts towards the back of the tour group where quiet conversation is less likely to clash with what the guide is saying. Hopefully he'll follow, and maybe if she's lucky she'll get some useful information from him.
And no, Clio, the interaction of Human and Nebulan courting habits does not count as useful information. (Clio thinks it totally does.) It's not real courting, anyway.

Jacob ignores the elbow-nudge one of his buddies gives him and drifts to the back of the tour. The one-eyed lady is very, very sexy; the soft swish and click of her beaded hair, those boots...
They're not ensuring the brighter future right this minute, so there's time to flirt.
As he falls in step with her, he meets her eyes then glances past her at the turrets they're demonstrating with paintball rounds. He grins. "Those look pretty nice in a lab, but I find in the field, Cyberdyne's Q36 models are tougher. Even if Blackrock's have the creepy AI voices."

Patra takes a moment to admire the turrets then returns the young man's grin. "An expert on turrets, are we?" she says with a slightly teasing tone. "Are you here to look at the pretty guns, then?"
She wouldn't blame him if he was. They are very pretty guns, regardless of a lack of toughness in the field.

"Just run into 'em a few times." He lowers his voice, hoping this sounds as good out loud as it does in his head. "I'm here to look at all the pretty things, Miz...?"

Oh, that's precious. What a sweet young thing. She rewards his compliment with a brilliant smile and offers her hand.
"Patra," she says, and is quickly reminded by Clio of the ID Frenzy had provided. "Kathleen Patra. And you?"

He shakes her hand, holding it for only a moment longer than necessary. "Jacob Brewer." That's what his ID says, anyway. Their tour guide is now guiding them into a lab section that looks even more like an iPod than the rest of the labs. "While Dr. Arkeville's generator is not on the tour, Blackrock Industries does have a number of its own clean, renewable energy projects."

"A pleasure to meet you, Jacob," Patra says. She gives a teasing smirk. "Or would you prefer Mr. Brewer?"
She perks up a little at the tour guide. Renewable energy, hm? She wonders what they'd think of a generator that could process almost any fuel, including food, with the capability of powering a giant robot. A lady's insides are her own business, of course, so she'll keep that little tidbit to herself.

They would coo at Patra and lead her away to be studied and fussed over. Then Clio would have to stomp on them.
"Jacob's fine, miz." He too perks up at the tour guide, and there is a very quick sidelong glance towards Patra. He noticed her perking up. Did she notice him doing so?
The tour guide prattles on a bit more, then turns to her tour group with a conspiratorial smile. "Now, this bit isn't strictly-speaking on the tour-" she is lying, they wouldn't let her lead tour-groups here if it wasn't- "but our scientists have recently finished a field-test-ready prototype Reverse Pulse Antigeneratrix, capable of..."
She goes on for a bit, but suddenly the handful of military-looking young men are paying very close attention. Jacob even begins to drift away from Patra.
OOC: Thank you to Clio's player for the name of the MacGuffin.
