Month 5, Week 1, Day four. Semi-Private. May Open later.
Blackarachnia has been working for months on repairing and restoring Elita-1's body and coding. She still hasn't been able to remove whatever is causing Elita's borrowing ability to stay permanently on. She thinks she has it nixed, and then it resets, like a self-populating virus she can't find. There's was also something... odd in Elita's coding that Blackarachnia did manage to quarantine and remove. It bares some similarity to something she's seen before in this universe, and she isn't going to miss the chance to study it.
Things are almost in place for her to attempt the spark transplant. Flame had been her first choice of helper, and he might yet decide to assist (out of curiosity if nothing else), but she does not expect him. This means she's left with Tarantulas.
This is not exactly comforting to her.
"How are you coming with the integration protocols?"

"The integration protocols are completed, I'm just double-checking them against a simulation," Tarantulas responds, hunched over a computer screen, golden claws busily clicking over a keyboard. Sci-fi interfaces never have mice. He turns to look at Blackarachnia over his shoulder, admiring the view. Sometimes being short is a good thing.
"I'm still not entirely clear on why you want to transplant your spark into a smaller, weaker body."

"Because it's my body," she says through gritted teeth, "Not this tainted slag I'm currently stuck in."
She is getting very, very tired of having to explain this to people. Why can't they understand that she doesn't want to be like this? If she can regain a purely mechanical body, then she can actually heal. No matter what Flame says.

"Oh, it's your body, is it? That body on the table there?" the smaller spider asks rhetorically, extending a finger toward the recumbent form of Elita-1. "You think you'd feel more at home in that shell than the one your spark and core consciousness have inhabited for megacycles? You think fixing the exterior 'contamination,' as you call it, is going to make who you are go away? What, are the Autobots going to take you back once you meet your own arbitrary standards of beauty again?" he taunts.
"You're only fooling yourself if you think a spark transplant is going to solve the problems you've invented for yourself, she-spider."

"Don't she-spiders eat he-spiders? Maybe you'd be better off with her as a car, Tarantulas," Scourge calls, letting himself in.
Blackarachnia wanted him here, so he's here. He doesn't have to like it. After all, the woman is more interested in necrophilia than she is in hm.
Scourge had better keep her away from the Wreckers.

She flexes her claws and takes a very deep breath. She will not flip out. Blackarachnia doesn't want to have to put this off again. Despite her efforts, however, her voice is strained as she answers Tarantulas.
"I am a Decepticon. I don't want to be an Autobot. I just want to be clean again."
It takes some effort for her not to shoot Scourge a grateful look of welcome when he enters. It bothers her, how easy it seems she could become dependent on his presence. She is and has been an independent woman for cycle upon cycle, after all. The problem of course is that the writers created her with that weakness and she needs to Move Past That, but that won't happen til next season at best.
"Please," Blackarachia snorts at Scourge's warnings, "I have standards." This is why she dates the sexiest angry black truck in the ranks. Of course, date is a bit misleading, given that they've spoken very little since her explosion in the lab.
Also, Tarantulas probably tastes like Undistilled Mad Scientist, and the aftertaste- well. Let's just there is no After Dinner Mint large enough.

"Ah, Lord Scourge, how good of you to join us," Tarantulas says, executing the mockingest bow he thinks he can get away with and not get horribly murdered. (If Slugslinger mimicked Rook's mannerisms, it might look something like this.) "Physical logistics aside, I don't think she's interested. I'm not on the menu." He already had a Blackarachnia try to seduce him to get something she wanted. Apparently what this Blackarachnia wanted was for someone to hold her hand while she did scary medical procedures to herself.
He bites off a comment about taking a shower when the larger spider says she just wants to be clean again. She wants to go back in her old body, Tarantulas will put her there. That means he gets the technorganic body to do science to, right?
"Let's begin then, shall we?" he suggests, rubbing his hands together.

Scourge just sighs, disgusted, a rattling sound. Everyone here is being absolutely ridiculous. Blackarachnia wants to trade a perfectly good and lethal spider-body for fragile little car body with only two axles. Only four wheels! She probably doesn't even have a towing hitch. What if Blackarachnia needs to tow a U-Haul???
Meanwhile, Tarantulas apparently thinks he's clever. Tarantulas should spend more time thinking about staying alive and less thinking he's clever, Scourge thinks.
If they weren't so necessary, he would not indulge them at all.

No, Tarantulas doesn't get her old body to "do mad science to-" or any other possible euphemism, intended or not. This is why Scourge is here, because Blackarachnia trusts the tanker slightly, and the spider not at all.
She finishes the last of the checks from her end, then walks over to the empty table next to Elita's body. For a few moments, she hesitates but eventually boost herself up on the table.
"Yes."
OOC: Tarantulas may pose BA as he likes for the next few poses, possibly after doing the TF equivalent of local anesthesia. Or not, as the spider deems appropriate.

"Very well. Activate recorder," he asides. With an audible click, a device that appears to contain an actual reel of magnetic tape starts rolling. Transformers has weird anachronisms like that sometimes.
Tarantulas begins the procedure by hooking up monitors to both Blackarachnia and Elita-1's vacant shell to monitor vital signs. Then he inserts a circuit probe with an attached microendoscope into the larger spider's chest, watching the instrument's progress on an overhanging monitor. He makes a small noise of approval when he finds what he's looking for and deadens her pain circuits. Then he removes the probe, replaces it on a nearby tray, and takes up a laser scalpel. "Subject is anesthetized. Making the first incision."
His motions as he cuts open Blackarachnia's torso and peels back her exoskeleton/armor plating/whatever are almost reverent. He takes his time securing the flaps of not-skin in place, examining them. "Fascinating. Circuitry embedded right in the organic tissue. And I can see a vascularized organic membrane covering this servomotor . . ." Tarantulas could make a scientific career just out of researching Blackarachnia.
"Now proceeding to open spark chamber," he says, pulling out more tools.

Scourge watches and wonders if Sky-Byte would look like that inside... if Scourge gutted and filleted Sky-Byte with his Sword of Fury.

Tarantulas will probably find opening Blackarachnia's spark chamber to be a bit tricky, even with the instructions she gave him. Some bits just tend to be camera shy on some people.
Those tapes are so getting confiscated when she wakes up.

You're supposed to record surgeries! If Blackarachnia confiscates the tapes, how will Tarantulas defend himself in a malpractice suit?
He's about to start opening Blackarachnia's spark chamber, when a monitor starts beeping insistently. He looks up at the bank of monitors attached to Blackarachnia, making an annoyed noise, only to find they're all nominal. "What?" he asks no-one in particular, turning around the check the monitors hooked up to Elita-1's empty shell. Sure enough, one of them is flashing an urgent code.
The spider grumbles to himself and grabs a soldering iron to close Blackarachnia back up for the moment. He wonders idly what effect it'll have on her organic components. Maybe they'll catch on fire. That would be interesting to see. "You're going to want to take a look at this," he comments, pointing at the flashing computer.

Blackarachnia carefully levers herself back up from the table. She's more than a little groggy, but more than that she's annoyed. She wants this done. She wants to be herself again.
"What?" she asks testily, idly rubbing at the soldered area. She doesn't get off the table, instead reaching for an instrument panel and pulling it toward her. Her eyes narrow and she says, "I didn't see that before... garbage in the buffers. Should be fixable."
She inputs a few codes which should set in motion a dump of the dead Elita's buffers. Or would, if she weren't getting error messages in return.

Elita-1 did not use everything she downloaded before she died. So when her spark guttered out and her processors failed, the download remained, safe in its own, separate storage space.
That download is keyed up now, as a natural consequence of Blackarachnia trying to dump the buffers. It is a very, very large download, and if not for how Elita-1's clash with Blackarachnia broke her downloading power and if not for the Reaver toxin, it is possible she would not have been able to do such an unusual download at all in the first place.
It is the download Elita-1 took when she punched her bare hand into Sentinel Prime's spark chamber and downloaded him to death. These are not the files for a special power or weapon. These are the files for memories and... personality.
A mind, mostly intact. It was already a bit frayed for other reasons. Elita-1's mind is gone. She died and is somewhere else now, so her processors are empty. A grappler mod would unpack itself in her arm. This mind unpacks itself in the most logical place for it: those dead, empty processors.
The corpse's optics flicker madly, like the wings of a moth courting a flame.
Elita-1 did not cripple her own emotional settings, though. Her defaults remain in place, a framework for anyone who would use this body. The downloaded mind unpacks itself into those defaults. The mind tries to boot up and reaches a stumbling block - there is no spark. Then it tries again. A lack of spark did not stop Starscream, after all.
And the boot takes. The optics stop flickering and instead stay on - dim but on.
Sentinel Prime looks blearily out of Elita-1's optics and screams in her voice. Her last memory is of dying, of being punched from behind and drained until there was nothing left, of failing to be there to defend those she was sworn to defend. She's cold and everything hurts. Of course she screams.
When the full gravity of the situation hits her, however, Sentinel Prime will wish she had saved her screams for later.
