M8W2D6, open to humanized 'Bots who know they are 'Bots at the start, may open up to other interruption later on.
When Kate woke up in a human body with human memories, she found that she didn't have much in the way of a social life... but had one hell of a crowded career. Supplemental to her job as a cop, she sometimes volunteered to teach classes related to self-defense, including, somewhat rarely, Concealed Carry Permit training.
(And all of this is ignoring her little unregistered extra job.)
She's been turning down a lot of opportunities to teach lately because in her real life, she has other responsibilities. However, Kup's a mentor at heart (even if, in his proper body, he doesn't have a heart), so Kate still agrees to a few courses. This time, she's glad she did, since the name of one of the students in her little one day course just so happens to match one of the names on the most recently updated list of Autobots in human form.
"All right," she says, clapping her hands together as she leans on the front of the desk in the front of the room. "Time's up. You should be able to see your score on the screen. If you passed, your certification is now entered into the system. If you failed..." she trails off and shrugs. "Look over the material we gave you, 'cos you gotta take the class again. Anyway, that's it for today. Have a nice weekend, folks." She doesn't say anything about seeing anyone next week; it's a one day class, and who knows when she'll be teaching it again?
Her gaze settles on one student in particular. "Miss Winston, mind staying behind a bit?"

Elly Winston slumps back in chair, a thin bead of cold sweat trickling down her face. She passed! Of course, she was expecting that she would pass, because she knows how awesome she is. When she realised that the instructor today, Kate Mason, is Kup according to the list of humanised Autobots, Elly did worry, though, because she is labouring under the incorrect assumption that Kup hates her tailpipe. So she did have the worry that Kate would find a way to fail her.
Elly replies weakly, "Okay?"
She really doesn't feel well. She wants to take a shower and then collapse for a while. Elly is not in the mood for yet more 'blah blah, why can't you be be a robot like Optimus Prime'.

Why would Kate hate Elly? Elly is awesome! People should like her!
Kate waits until the last of the other students to leave, then turns a faint but concerned smile Elly's way. "So how you doin', lass?" She shakes her head, smile morphing into frown. "'Cos I'm afraid you look like death warmed over." If not for her human memories, she probably would have chosen a different metaphor there. "Anything I can help with? Or one of the others?"

Elly pulls out a tissue to dab at her face. She always carries tissue around, along with wipes, sanitising gel, a small first aid kit, her medications, and a few other items that make sense in a little roller bag. Elly has a trailer now. It is so embarrassing. She admits, "Uhm. I didn't want any Autobots to see me like this. Or Maximals, though Maximals are probably more okay with it."
She coughs, and her throat hurts. In a small voice, she admits, "I am death warmed over. Uhm. Can you get me out of this defective body? Because that would help a lot."

Kate's eyes dart towards the door, making sure no one's about to come in, and then she sighs. "Sentinel," she starts, addressing him by his real name, "we're all stuck in these bodies. Most of us, anyways. No one's gonna hold it against you, and besides, we all got a better chance if we work together."
She winces at Elly's question and shakes her head. "We're, uhm, still trying to figure that out." And by 'we', Kate means 'Eggheads who are not Kate.' "But right now? 'Fraid not."

"I saw the list. I feel... bad for everyone," Elly says, though what she really means is 'horrified beyond words'. This is seriously not something she would wish on anyone. Elly even wishes that Blackarachnia would go back to being a car, if only so Blackarachnia would be more easily punchable without getting spider cooties everywhere. "I'm sorry that this had to happen to you. And me. Obviously."
Elly looks downcast that Kate cannot magically turn her back into a robot and adds, "Oh. Well, I hope that they do find a fix and fast?"
She checks the time and then rifles through her bag and pulls out her glucose meter. Time to prick a finger again.

Kate frowns as Elly pulls out her glucose meter. On the one hand, she's temped to suggest that if Elly'd prefer, it might be safer for her to stay on the Event Horizon, but on the other hand, it's not like anyone on the Event Horizon is qualified in human medicine, anyway.
"Yeah, you and me, both." The frown deepens. "Though looks like you caught the worse of this deal. Where you staying, anyway?" Might not hurt to let folks know they need to check up on Elly from time to time (whether Elly wants to be seen or not).

The reading is kind of high. Did she miss a shot? She struggles to remember. It's stupid, but she finds it difficult to juggle the test material against doing everything else that she needs to do when. Elly pulls out a tablet and checks her notes against the time. She's due for a shot. Elly pulls out a syringe and stares at her skin blearily before knuckling under and doing it.
Then Elly looks up at Kate and asks, "Huh? Sure. You have a tablet I could write it down on?"

Kate pulls out her phone. It's a pretty handy little device. Camera, GPS, address book, calculator, calender, music player, data storage... too bad the actual phone part is prone to suddenly cutting out on you. She taps the stylus to eject it and hands phone and stylus over to Elly. "Just don't use your real name. I've got a password on this thing, but if the 'Cons have any half-decent techs left they wouldn't have any problem cracking it, so I'm only using human names." She considers. "Should see about setting it to wipe itself if there's any invalid access attempts."
That's probably a good way to accidentally wipe her own damn phone, really.
She doesn't really notice that the syringe should probably be a needleless hypo instead of traditional needle one. This is because old school syringes make what's going on clearer in a cartoon than modern ones, so characters don't notice incongruities like that.

Elly writes out her name, Elly Winston, and the address for her apartment. It might ring a faint bell for Kate. There was a pretty bad homicide there, which Homicide would have been handling at first...
...until the vic sat up and started screaming at the coroner. Then it became MCU business. It's Det. Dahlia's case.
She explains, "They want me to look into a 'home', but ugh. I don't want to be around sick people. I don't even want to be around sick me. I'm managing as best as I can."

When Kate receives the phone back, her eyes open wide. "Ah!" she exclaims. "That was you, then, huh?" She puts her phone in her pocket. "Probably a good idea to stay out of the 'home' if you don't need it. At least with your own place, you can meet up with one of us in privacy. That would get a bit harder if you were living in a shared living spot.
"So you've been talking with Dahlia, huh? Any thoughts on her?"

"Me," Elly admits, chagrin tugging at her mouth. Kate gives her good reasons to support something that she was going to do anyway. She says brightly, "She's nice. I like her."
That's not very helpful, but it's true.
"She gave me the idea to get my concealed carry."

Not helpful, no, but Kate decides not to share her suspicions about her fellow cop.
She glances down at her tablet absently, looking through the grades given out the day. "So how you getting around, anyway? Doing all right on the roads?"

"I've been taking the bus," Elly says, and she makes a displeased face. "I have a car. It's this absolutely gorgeous yellow sports car put out by Blackrock Motors." Her expression changes to one of dreamy bliss. "If she could transform, I tell you, I'd have her number by now."
Kate probably didn't need to know that.
"But I'm kind of... shaky, sometimes, and I'm weak even for a pathetic sack of flesh, and I sometimes... pass out, so yeah... bus. I have to take so many showers. I don't even want to look at my water bill."
Elly brightens a bit and asks, "Is there anything useful I could be doing?"

Kate... manages to keep from wincing at Elly's question. That's an accomplishment, really. In Elly's condition, there's not a whole lot she can do. She lifts her hand to rub her chin. "Well, let me see..." she starts, casting around for ideas.
So just what is Sentinel Prime good at that isn't connected to physical form? Well, sucking up, and talking about people behind their backs, but neither of those are particularly useful.
Really tedious details, schedule making, and record keeping. And while she's no intel officer... "You know, we could probably use someone to keep a close eye on the human media, s'pecially the 'Net," which really accounts for 'all media' these days, anyway. "We've been working under the assumption that this happened to the 'Cons, too, but they've been hard to track down so far. Might be hints of them there."
